Firstly don't think this is mall food. This is truly authentic and flavorful South Indian (east coast) food. That chettinad chicken is legit. Malabar parotta is not authentic until the chef claps it into a messy shape ... if this confuses you, ask the chef to show you :). What they do is the "real" chicken 65. This is the original buhari style which is where this dish was invented back in 1965. Their chicken tikka (kabob) is how you'll see the dish served if you were to order it in India. I haven't found a single so called kabob joint in this vicinity that does justice to this like they do here! The Pallipaalayam chicken is pretty good too but I still favor the Chettinad. This is Madraas cuisine as it was meant to be. You watch the chefs work and it screams culinary school. I feel like they are truly taking Indian food in Bellevue up a notch or two. read more

If you're looking to try some good regional Indian food that is different from the globalized version of Indian cuisine (like the bright red chicken tikka masalas of the world), this place is a must-try. This is as real as it gets. Their forte seems to be food from the southern region (Madurai) of a south Indian state (Tamilnadu). The flavor is authentic and it is the closest that I've had to similar food back in India. The parotta (which is actually pronounced burota), madurai mutton combo is a winner, with the Dindugal mutton briyani coming in as a close second. A friend and I stopped in after a movie. It is at the food court at Crossroads Mall/Shopping Center. Food was excellent. I ordered the goat vindaloo and my friend had butter chicken. I did not try his but he said it was good and he ate it all which he does not usually do. My dish was perfect. They did not ask how spicy or hot I wanted. Of course vindaloo is a spicy dish and I hate bland food. It came perfect mild to moderately peppery hot. Accompanied by roti and a strawberry lassi. I ordered 2 non-veg lunch combo and chicken biryani yesterday. They were all good even though we didn't expect them to be so spicy (it was our first Indian meal since covid). I was especially impressed with the owner/staff who was so willing to accommodate my son's nuts allergy and made one dish without nuts for him. He was very understanding and willing to go out of his way, so appreciate it. That dish ended up still a little too spicy for my son, but for me and my husband we will definitely go back for their food and naan! read more

This food's spice level is not meant for non-south asians, unless you can take the spice level. We had two slightly different experiences. The food was great in both. Took one star off because the portion sizes were dramatically different the second time (lesser). Their appam and tandoori chicken are fantastic. In all biryanis the rice are more damp, and moist than traditional biryanis where the rice is loose and easily separable. I enjoy both kind. visited them again and food was flavorful. If you want chicken 65 the way it should be this is the place to go. Nice and crisp and not smeared in yogurt sauce like many other places. Also ordered mutton chukka asked for 5 * spice but it was more like a 3. The dish itself was very flavorful and the spice proportions were good. My 2 stars is not for the taste of food or the quality. They both were excellent. However, a big part of the service is also the quality of Customer Service that you get. Not that you can expect much from a fast food in a mall. But I think basic respect and courtesy is the least you can expect anywhere you go. I went there for the first time yesterday and cant begin to describe what a pathetic customer service I got. The lady by the cash register was nice. She said while taking the order that the wait would be 20 min which is completely reasonable and I had kids with me who were super hungry which I mentioned as well. 30 min into the wait I checked on it and I was told I am next in the line. 45 min past I went to the counter to ask again and I was told it is not done yet at which point I said we have been waiting for long. This guy who works there - Muthu jumped on me and started screaming and said they are not standing there jobless. And then he went on to say If I cant wait I can take my money and go. I was shocked with this kind of reaction and he continued to tell me to take my money and go. We got our food 10 min from then and on my way out i informed him that no one deserves this kind of service and he better check his attitude. First thing they have to do is fire that guy Muthu and recognize that they have to put the customers first ( within a reasonable limit) If you feel like eating paid yummy food while getting yelled at try it out!! read more

I ordered chettinad mutton, mango lassi and kheer. Starting with the main dish, the curry was flavorful and nice but I am pretty sure that instead of goat meat lamb was used and the meat was very tough and fibrous as well. I miss authentic bone in goat meat. The mango lassi was tart and I could tell it was freshly made instead of being poured out of a box but the tartness actually made it a little less tasty than the standard fare at other indian restaurants. The kheer was very average, nothing to complain about but not thick or creamy as well, I ate it without too much thought. I'd be open to trying their other offerings but this experience was very mediocre. read more
