Cozy space good for cocktails or a date night. Music was a little too loud, I came with some girlfriends and we felt we had to yell over the music. Cocktails were great! This is such a fun concept for a restaurant but sadly the food was not very good when I went. The salmon tartare was okay but I felt like the sweet sauce they put on it was overwhelming and the wonton chip was greasy. The worst dish was the poutine, which I found to be super salty to the point of being inedible (both the gravy and the duck itself). The fries were also cut very thin which made them get soggy and soak up salty sauce quickly. The smash burger was pretty good but nothing special. The texture of the short rib was nice and tender but the flavor was just straight up salt, and once again an excessive amount. read more

Came here with a friend for their "power hour" after seeing how good the reviews were. For happy hour they have $6 Espresso Martinis and half off bottles of wine and flatbreads. We were so excited for the Espresso Martinis, but sadly their espresso machine was down (felt like a true McDonald's moment). So we opted to split a bottle of Pinot Noir instead. For food we got the Chicken Pesto Flatbread and Mushroom Truffle Flatbread, both were delicious. I loved the different mushrooms on the Mushroom Truffle and it had just the right amount of truffle flavor. The service was great despite being pretty busy for happy hour. These ones from here do not disappoint! Highly recommend. Food is just okay though to be honest. I did enjoy the salmon tartare; the fish was fresh and it had good flavor, the wontons were also nice and crisp. The burger, which we ordered medium rare was definitely not medium rare, it was more of a medium/medium well. It had good flavor to it, but those peppers will sneak up on you. Also, it claims that it's a smash burger but it's definitely not a smash burger. Truffle fries were also pretty good, they were crispy and you can taste the truffle in them. Service - not the best. All our plates were dirty with food residue still stuck on them so we stacked all 4 plates at the edge of our table. When our server came by we told her and she only took the top plate and replaced just that one. I would just check that your plates are clean prior to eating. read more

Okay - I really only do reviews when it's worth it and when I tell you Chalet is that spot!!!!! Whew! Being from Los Angeles, we were looking for a spot with great food and the vibes.....Chalet is all of that! The establishment itself is super cute! The music is always a vibe, the staff, especially Tay, is super sweet and welcoming. Big shoutout to Tay! The food is great and very filling. The drink selection is great, you can find anything you like. They do have TV's where you can watch sports and chill. We came back twice on our weekend getaway! I would definitely recommend the mimosa champagne tower if you have a group of people & their take on the espresso martini was so good that I had to order a couple of them. If I could give this place "no stars" that would've been better. Literally place is empty with maybe 4 tables and 3 people at the bar. We watched staff hang amongst themselves at the end of the bar. I think it took 25 mins to get a Bloody Mary and Diet Coke. Brunch choices were meh and I don't know why our bacon tasted like well done crispy fish. (Maybe clean the griddle?) I've worked in the industry and I know the difference between being understaffed and in the weeds. This place was neither of those things -especially when there's like 7 employees checking their phones at end of the bar not to mention one of the girls is picking at her mouth then delivering food plates. Would it give it a 0 if I could, I was running 20 minutes late due to the traffic from the weather and rush hour and had let the restaurant know ahead of time. When I arrived, I was met by a very rude host at the front who told me that I missed my reservation due to being late, even though I had notified the restaurant and there were multiple tables empty. This was also on Valentines Day...I made the reservation weeks in advance only for the host to have absolutely no empathy and proceed to be very rude and smile while I was in distress. Terrible service. We went for happy hour on a Friday, and had looked at their happy hour menu ahead of time on their website. We noticed we were getting charged for full price on the burger, even though the website said it was on the happy hour, and the waitress said "oh yeah that changed as of yesterday," and that the manager will not provide the discount (the menus that you scan on the table even had the discount listed). Just completely wrong. Why would you advertise foods on happy hour, then not provide the promised prices, and not even tell the tables ahead of time that the burger we clearly ordered from the happy hour menu was going to be full price? Seems like they're trying to drive away customers. I also will mention the service was soooo slow and it took forever for our waitress to even get our order. I was going to order more drinks and food but decided to forget it because of the poor/slow service. Will never come here again, there are way better places!! read more

One star for getting us sat on a Saturday without a reservation. Otherwise zero stars. We had a minor request of no bacon on our loaded fries and plain mac & cheese (no bread crumbs on top). We received loaded fries with bacon and mac and cheese with parsley and bread crumbs. Understanding mistakes happen our waitress offered to return it to the kitchen. My meal then came out ahead of the apps while the rest of the table sat and watched me eat. The Mac and cheese came back with the toppings simply stirred into it saying "this is as clean as we can make it" the fries that came back were cold, with nearly no toppings, while the first order looked great aside from having bacon on them. Our server seemed to have sensed we wouldn't be pleased and decided not to return to the table to check on us. $100 later we pay a bill that had an automatic 5% service charge and 20% gratuity with an additional screen asking if we would like to tip our server even more, while she stands right there. It seems to me I've already tipped you with the automated 20% gratuity that you did not earn. She watches saying " you have to say no tip if you want to go to the next screen". Absolutely uncomfortable. Will not return. Good luck keeping patrons returning, maybe this is more of tourist trap for unsuspecting idiots. It is no wonder the people are eating the cats, eating the dogs, establishments like this wouldn't get my hard earned money either. read more

The flat bread needed a bit more crunch and the nachos were pretty good but got soooo soggy after like 5 min. It's is prob 3" across and is store bought... with a watery icing that tastes like water+powdered sugar. All the rest of the entrees came out staggered and cold, along with other items that we didn't order... all while still missing some that we did order. I was drawn to Chalet because of the mimosa bar they had so I made a reservation. Once we got there the mimosa bar was sold out which sucked. It's a small place so I highly recommend setting a reservation and going early. The breakfast while nothing special was good. My favorite part was the bread, I ordered so many side roasts with butter lol. I unfortunately cannot eat eggs and a lot of their meals are centered around eggs for breakfast. The menu could be expanded a bit . I would recommend just going there early , when I visit Chicago next I'll go early so I can hopefully have the experience I'm looking for . read more

Incredibly unprofessional establishment. Held a private event here-- spending thousands to rent out the entire building. There were six "randoms" in the bar, four of which a bartender was taking shots with from behind the counter. When approaching the first four randoms, they cussed us out, stating they "knew" the owner. It took around an hour and a half before they finally got kicked out. The last two people were related to another bartender, whose attitude was deplorable. She did not understand the concept of a CLOSED event. Well, I guess some people are slower than others. Either way, if you wish to have a private event here, expect to have a bunch of random douchebags to egotize the entire night with the staff being entirely unprofessional. Save your money. read more

Not many people, good service, no wait for our reservation at the host station and most importantly no cold food (yay). Matter of fact, it smelled hot upon arrival. My small group had the Apres Skillet, Nutella French Toast, and bottomless mimosas (Valdo Número 1). The skillet was loaded with flavor and cooked to perfection. Food gave our tastebuds a ride- loaded fries with duck meat as a starter. Last time I had duck was at a baptism 10 years ago so needless to say I was skeptical- but they proved me wrong-thank you for that, Chalet. Drinks had a kick and it was GOOD. Smoked Old fashioned comes with a little smoke show *literally.* The green gondola was smooth and refreshing, almost like they wanted you to feel like you were on a gondola ha.
