It's a nice din lit roomy place. You only have 90 minutes for seating. The waitress was very attentive. Well they kind of have to be since you are limited to only 90 minutes. The food is outstanding. The Salmon egg rolls were the best I have ever had. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender and very tasty. The Ribeye Steak was really good. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. provare was an interesting experience. im giving two stars because the food was great - we ordered the lemon pepper chicken alfredo, smashburger and spinach dip. everything came out fast and hot. taking off two stars mostly bc of the subpar service we received from our waiter, Darius and the odd policies/pricing at provare. darius took a minute to greet us but did bring over welcome shots which were tasty. he was very quick but somewhat friendly. he did not ask if there were any allergies in our party which i did overhear other waiters asking their tables. my mother is extremely allergic to shellfish. our food was brought over and we honestly never heard from darius again until he briefly stopped by and checked on us. i also witnessed the table next to us who also had darius as a waiter receiving subpar service. they were checked on once and received their food after us even though we were sat long after they were. again, i am comparing darius to other waiters and i witnessed several others check on their tables including a party of two ladies next to us who had an EXCELLENT waitress that made me slightly jealous that we did not have her. we finished our food and was brought over our bill which included a 20% tip. which made sense considering darius' service because he knew he would collect an undeserved 20% tip without providing 20% tip service. the bill did NOT include the $5 ridiculous reservation charge taken off. on the website it states that the charge would come off the bill. i asked darius about this and he said we had to check in with the hostess to get the charge removed. huh??? so if we never asked or forgot they would've never taken off the charge and pocketed $5. seems extremely predatory. the cherry on top was when i was signing my name on the check on the payment device, darius said "have a great Sunday" and literally walked away and left his device and never came back for it LMAO. (picture included) we did check in with the hostess about the fee. she was friendly from jump, but took a minute to look up my name and tell me that the charge would come off within 2-3 business days. literally anyone who paid the fee and showed up to their reservation should AUTOMATICALLY have the charge taken off without having to inquire about it. finally, for anyone ordering the smashburger you can have the lobster removed because they are charging $8 for it, something i didn't realize you could at the time of ordering. i don't need lobster on a burger. i hope provare looks to improve it's policies and darius' service as it is a sore spot for a restaurant serving excellent food. we were visiting chicago but if we return to the city we most likely will not return to provare. read more

I was a party of 1, and sat in between parties with several reasons to celebrate. That being said, the host, staff, and even fellow guests dining there as well, made me feel welcomed. I received exceptional service from CiCi (hope I am spelling that right). Pretty, spacious, and an esthetically beautiful restaurant. We had an amazing time at Provare! Even though we arrived a few minutes late, they were very accommodating and seated us while the rest of our group arrived. The ambiance is a 10/10--beautiful space, especially the downstairs Privé section. The Stoney Island was a hit with our group (some even ordered seconds!). Be aware that this restaurant adds a mandatory 20% service charge to takeout orders. We ordered two pasta dishes for pickup with a subtotal of $52. When we received the receipt, an additional $10.40 service charge had been added, bringing the total to nearly $70 after tax. What was frustrating is that this was a small takeout order. We picked up the food ourselves and did not receive table service, yet a mandatory 20% service charge was still added to the bill. When I called to ask about it, I was told it was company policy. The staff member I spoke with said they would contact the manager about removing the charge. I visited Pravare with my best friend to celebrate our anniversary, and overall we had a great experience. We did arrive about 30 minutes late for our reservation, which meant we had to wait roughly an hour to be seated...totally fair. While waiting, we grabbed drinks at a nearby bar. Unfortunately, that delay meant we didn't get to check out the speakeasy this time, but it's definitely on the list for our next visit. Once seated, service started quickly. Our server, Narnica, was fantastic and guided us through the menu with great recommendations. Food Highlights: * Artichoke dip + garlic bread: Excellent. It already comes with shrimp and crawfish, and the flavor was rich and satisfying. * Salmon egg rolls: Texture was perfect...crispy and juicy...but flavor-wise they were just okay for us. * Trio pasta: Delicious overall. The pasta and sauce alone were good, but adding shrimp and crawfish really elevated the dish and made it memorable. Drinks: We received complimentary mango welcome shots (always appreciated!) and a celebratory sparkling rosé for our occasion, which was a really thoughtful touch. The salmon egg rolls almost took me out they were so good. They melt in your mouth! The flavor is amazing. Family dinner at Provare to celebrate my mom's birthday. I have been trying to bring my parents here for the longest time cause I keep seeing pictures of this place all over social media. The dip was so rich and creamy that you needed the garlic bread! We ordered 2 seafood pasta dishes, a vegan bolognese, and a lamb chop. I do have to warn people that this place is VERY VERY HEAVY! Only I finished my entree and we had 3 to go boxes. If you're not a huge fan of heavy food then I suggest you to split with someone. The entree itself doesn't seem to be a huge portion, but the food is just very rich and heavy cause of all the sauce/butter they use here. Even though it was on the heavier side, I did not mind it at all cause I did bring my mom here as a treat! The music is spot on and inside is fairly spacious with tables for all party sizes. I love how you can kind of customize each entree a bit so that you're able to try everything. We arrived and quickly found out that we needed to make reservations because this place was packed. We were able to snag two seats at the bar after waiting for a bit. I first went with some associates and we of course had to have a reservation. It gets busy quickly! I love their drinks; great variety and wasn't watered down. The appetizers were delicious; the server recommended some and they were all amazing. The main entrées were huge. For the food we had the following: Salmon egg rolls 3 of 5: I'd say this was ok tasting, and incredibly greasy because it's fish and a fried dish. By the end of the meal here you may regret this lol. Good if you like that flavor combo, but again limit yourself on how much you order here lol. Lamb chops 5 of 5: probably the most balanced and needed break with our meal. If you want this to ahead, but with the other dishes may have a bit less flavor in comparison to the butteriness of the other dishes. The corn it comes with is very buttery and a little light on that Cajun zing in comparison to the seafood Trio. Butter Cake 2 of 5: Don't get it after everything else. It's just to much butta! Or get it if it's never to much butta. Regardless, I wasn't a fan of this desert during my meal. Flavors didn't seem to mix for the overall complete meal. I have visited Chicago a few times now and this was one of my favorite places I've eaten in all of my Chicago trips so far. My only wish is that I had been hungrier and able to eat more, because the portions were massive and so so good. We had a party of four and planned to eat right when they opened at 3pm. The sample cocktail they give you at the beginning is tasty and a fun way to kick off the meal! We ordered the crabby fries and salmon egg rolls to start and I have not stopped thinking about the egg rolls -- I probably could have eaten another plate of them by myself. My main dish was the shrimp cognac scampi and it was everything I expected -- creamy, flavorful, delicious. The shrimp and noodles were perfectly cooked. I've heard so many great things about this black owned restaurant and I've been more than eager to visit here! The decor is really well done; it's a smaller spot, but not too over cramped or at least me and my friends didn't feel very cramped. I also learned that they have a speakeasy cocktail lounge downstairs, but unfortunately it wasn't open the day that we showed up so I'll certainly return again to give it a try. We asked her questions about the things that we liked, and she walked us through how to make it better (as if that was possible) because the food was already delicious. I've had red wine, tequila shots and drinks, craft beer which has changed to one option only but it's still pretty good. Great experience from start to finish. The welcome drinks were a really nice touch and set the tone right away. Service was solid throughout--friendly, attentive, and paced well. The lamb was juicy and flavorful, cooked beautifully and definitely a highlight. The seafood pasta was an absolute showstopper--rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. Easily the star of the table and a must-order. The egg rolls were the only miss for us. They arrived cold and didn't have much going for them flavor-wise, which was a bit disappointing compared to everything else. Overall, an excellent meal with standout mains and great hospitality. I'm pretty impressed with this restaurant. Leading up to this visit, I tried (and failed) to get a reservation for my party of 4, and was going to wing it and see if we could walk-in. Yes to the walk-in, but there was about a 30-min wait around 4pm on the weekend. The wait time was accurate, and we were seated at a high-top round table in the corner of the restaurant. I don't remember there being a ton of decor, but the dark lighting added a serious, yet chill vibe to the restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food? So delicious! The salmon egg rolls were a surprise delight, especially with the accompanying sauce. The ala vodka with breaded / fried chicken added was every I thought it would be a more - so rich, filling, and cheesy. The cocktails were nice and strong as well; the Randolph's overt sweetness took away from the flavor of the drink. I tend not to like old fashioneds, but the Mag Mile was phenomenal. The food here is so flavorful and delicious! We had a party of 3 and came in as a walk-in. There was somewhat of a wait around 5pm and we got sat pretty quick. I do think we got lucky though so shoutout to the owner for giving up his seat haha. We ordered an assortment of food and all of it was so filling. We had the lobster, lamb chops, etc. I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu :) read more
