I ordered a box of 12 Beef Patties and my family absolutely loved them. The size was larger than I expected as other spots I have tried are smaller. The meat and pastry were exactly what I wanted. They reheat well and can be frozen also so getting the box just made sense. I usually have to add cheese at other spots but I tried them by themselves and with cheese and they are great every way which speaks to the skills of this family owned Bakery. I'm gonna give them 3 stars because honestly speaking as always in my reviews, I did not like the beef patty meat. The patty itself had a slight crispy, flaky exterior but I've had better. Then the meat on the inside had a vinegar taste that overwhelmed the flavor of the patty along with it being very soft and mushy. It didn't have much spice to it either. Now the vegetable pastry I also purchased now that was good. It was very large in size and from the picture I attached you can see it was very filling. I did enjoy it. The customer service was good, better than some caribbean spots I have visited. I definitely prefer to go to another place in that same neighborhood that hands down was just better to me. Champion has always been a staple for my family's Jamaican specialties needs. We would frequent this bakery for duck and hard dough breads, as well as bun and cheese, and always for their patties. Any time we had a special event, we would get a large order of cocktail patties and they always came in clutch. In recent years their cocktail patties have been skimpy in the fillings but the regular patties are still on point. If I'm ever in the area, I will stop by and get a spicy beef patty with coco bread, the perfect street food and ready to eat on the go. The filling is great. It's spicy and packed with seasonings and yummy beef. The outer crust is flaky and the perfect thickness. Their coco bread is always warm and a perfect vessel to envelop the patty as a great little snack to gave while on the road. We stopped by because I was down the block at a neighboring store. Parking out front is always hectic. You're likely better getting something down the block or around the corner. Just about everyone double parks so if you do grab a legit spot, be prepared to wait for someone to move their car from blocking yours. When you enter, keep track of who is last on line. Everyone skips and the staff doesn't really take notice as to who might have come in first so you just need to be assertive and make sure your not skipped because the customers don't care and neither does the staff. Your best bet is to hover by the central cash register and try and grab someone's attention who is free. A beef patty and coco bread will run you about five bucks. The inflation is crazy nowadays. It's still worth it and it will fill you up until your next meal. read more

I picked up a $13 bun about 2 pounds for Easter. It was a disaster!!! I could taste the baking soda in it. It was the driest bun I've ever had. It was awful!!! They sprinkle the fruit peels on top instead of inside the bun. I was very disappointed this year. I have been buying my Easter bun here for over 20 years but everything must come to an end. These Pattie's are big but not good at all. I threw mine out. Pattie's are pasty and tasteless with fake meat. The meat is strange like it has a lot of fillers. It's very mushy with a flour water consistency. The crust is ok but no flavor but flour. . Just an overall waste of time and money. The other stuff in there looked good but I don't know. 5 star for breads 1 star for customer service. Some staff are up pricing the goods and pocketing the difference. I paid $6 for bread yesterday and $7 for the same bread the week prior. Bread: I've tried their coco bread and their hardo bread and liked their hardo bread A LOT. One of the best that I've tasted - my only gripe is that for whatever reason, after each time I ate it, I felt crappy. I don't know if I'm reacting to one of the ingredients in it or what, but I'd feel kinda woozy afterwards. It still tasted amazing though, to the point that I was literally tearing chunks of it and eating it as is. Their coco bread was not anything to write home about, and I wouldn't get it again. Patties: I came here for the patties, tbh, and I wasn't blown away, despite how huge they are (!!). First time I came, they didn't have any regular patties so just got the loaf patties (which are patties that are baked in a bready crust). They got my order wrong so I didn't get to try the beef filling in these, but the 3 veggie-filled ones they gave me were literally tasteless. The chicken filling is seasoned with curry, and had that classic Jamaican curry flavor, which I really enjoyed. However, the loaf crust was just not my thing - I wanted some flakiness! So the next time I came, they had classic beef patties, so I ordered that and the chicken in the traditional yellow crust. It was definitely better, but gotta say, it left something to be desired. Chicken filling has a little kick to it, but the beef patty was pretty average, and the crust did not have much flake to it at all....just kinda insipid and average. Best beef patty in the area. Crust is flaky, and there's a good filling to crust ratio. I'm less so a fan of the chicken patty though.
