I drove 20 minutes to Champion Cleaners because I specifically needed a place that could handle both dry cleaning and alterations. I had a few pairs of pants that needed hemming, and before making the trip I checked their website, which clearly stated they offer alterations. There was nothing mentioned about any exceptions or special requirements. I arrived right when they opened, walked in, and the first thing the associate asked me was if I knew the inseam measurements of my pants and what length I needed them to be. I was honestly confused by the question. I don't know my inseam measurements -- that's the whole reason I came to a cleaners that offers alterations. I expected they would measure the pants, or measure me, and determine the proper length. She told me they don't do that and that customers have to come in with their own exact measurements. This was never stated on their website. Had that been communicated upfront, I would've come prepared or gone somewhere else and saved myself the trip. On top of that, the interaction wasn't very friendly or welcoming. The whole experience felt dismissive and inconvenient, especially after going out of my way first thing in the morning. Really disappointing experience and not what I expected based on how their services were presented online. read more

Ironically, this business earned a customer by turning one away. I brought several cross-stitch (needlepoint) pieces to be cleaned so I could have them framed. The woman working was concerned about color bleeding and didn't feel comfortable taking them. She acknowledged the time and handiwork that went into making them,and she didn't want to risk anything happening to them. She suggested I hand wash and iron them, which is what I did. Went to this place with a few button down shirts in a search for a new dry cleaner, as I've recently relocated to this area. For three shirts to be laundered and one dry cleaned (a sport shirt with a lot of pockets and Velcro) the bill was over $15. I use dry cleaners all the time and this was more than I'd ever paid. The quality was inconsistent. One of the shirts came back with a plastic tab at the collar and the two others did not. The sport shirt was wrinkled and did not appear to have been ironed. While other dry cleaning places seem to just randomly assign prices that are different with every visit, Champion Cleaners has stayed steady and transparent throughout the half dozen times I've visited them so far. At drop-off, I'll get an itemized estimate that is honored at the time of pick-up. They've consistently followed through on when my clothes will be available for pick-up. Most importantly, they thoroughly get the stains out. I also appreciated when I took some of my suits in for alterations and they referred me to someone else to alter the jackets since they didn't feel they had the expertise to take care of it. I have been to Champion Cleaners one time, and I'm not going back. I had seven feather pillows -- some regular size, some the longer "queen" size (20"x30") -- that I wanted to have cleaned, mostly just to get the musty smell out of them, as they hadn't been used in years. I called a few cleaners in the Broomfield area, and the woman at Champion Cleaners quoted me the best price ($15/pillow...maybe as low as $12 each for seven of them, but she'd have to see them first). I decided to take one pillow -- the worst of them -- to Champion cleaners, just to see what kind of work they do before committing to having all of them cleaned. Also, there were some less-than-glowing reviews here on Yelp. (THEY ARE ALL GONE NOW!) UPDATE #1: Before you get to the meat of this review, it's worth noting that the owner, Sung L., posted a follow-up note here (since deleted) here that read, in part, "Also I am talking to yelp representative that your post might not be legit." ARE YOU CALLING ME A LIAR, L.??? I assure you that what I've written here IS legitimate -- why would I make up anything? I always provide my fellow Yelpers with honest and hopefully helpful reviews. But now we see why there are no critical reviews on Yelp! UPDATE #2: I received yet another message from the owner, Sung L., that struck a much more conciliatory tone, as opposed to insinuating that I'm a liar like he did the first time. I showed her the pillow -- with yellowed spots on it -- and asked how much it would cost to have it cleaned. She got on the phone and had a short conversation -- apparently about the pillow -- in a language I do not understand. She then hung up and told me "Thirty dollars." Why not just say you can't or don't want to clean it? Regardless, I felt bait-and-switched, and I'm also disturbed by the dubious business practice of buying positive reviews. If businesses can purchase positive reviews and have negative reviews "scrubbed," either by complaining to Yelp or harassing reviewers, Yelp will be rendered useless to consumers, and that would be a real shame. Best cleaners in the area. I'm always happy with how my clothing comes back. I'm particularly impressed with how they do my pleated tux shirt. No other cleaners I've found gets the pleats pressed straight from top to bottom. I've done alterations with them too, and they did it well. I was pleased with the quality of the hem. I'm new to the area and this is my second cleaners I've gone since the move. The main reason why I wanted to try this place is because it's closer than the other one. I have no idea how I missed this place! Upon walking in, you notice that the interior is very clean and quiet. They don't have machines here which pretty much means the turn around time will be longer. Service has been always pleasant and prompt. I have had four minor alterations so far on my husband dress shirts and I am satisfied with them. I didn't pay too close of attention to their prices, but I think it's around the town's standards. I visit Colorado frequently for business and personal trips. This location is conveniently located by the Omni hotel so i thought i would give it a try. I was pleasantly greeted by jenna (who's usually there) and was offered great customer service. The shop was clean and warm (i'm from california and winter trips can be freezing for me) They even had a little fitting room for alteration customers. Their pricing was reasonable and the outcome was great. I had a small oily spot on my suit. I had it dry cleaned in Los Angeles several times and no one could get it out. I thought it had to stay since it already became a stain. Surprisingly when i got my jacket back, it was gone. I didn't even mention it to be cleaned. (i thought it would stay anyway) Since then, I bring expensive and fragile garments to these guys. Their quality of work is definitely top notch. Wish they had a location in california! Before coming to Champion Cleaners I had not used a dry-cleaner before so I wasn't sure what to expect but I read the positive reviews and decided to try it out. I brought in 3 items, 1 to have a seam fixed, one to have a button sewed back on (if possible, we only had the top half, not the bottom) and one wool blanket to be cleaned. I was told they would be ready on Friday, then he said to be safe Saturday. I came to pick them up on Monday (which I assumed would be safe) and the blanket was not ready. Even though I came a day later than they had said... The dress I had fixed was fixed fine, hence 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately they could not fix the jacket. However, we gave them part of the button to be fixed and when we got it back the button was gone. When I asked where it was, he said it was beyond repair with that button and we would just have to get a new one. I asked for the button back still just to have it and he admitted that they lost it. Even with a late item and a missing button we were not offered any sort of compensation, just a half-hearted sorry. We will not be returning to this establishment. read more
