We finally made it a priority destination two weeks ago, only to discover that they are closed on Thursdays. We made a triumphant return this past week, and after decades of wondering what it was like inside, we made it into the store! Wow, it smells so good in there. Truthfully, I was a bit surprised by how small the shop is, but I haven't been in many butcher shops. The selection of wursts and other meats were baffling to me. We were given a piece of paper, like a menu, that told us what each sausage was, ingredients used, and how it should taste. I ended up with a pound of BAUERNWURST (SMOKED, WITH MUSTARD SEEDS). Oddly, enough, my boyfriend and I also went to the German Christmas Village in downtown Baltimore and they were serving the same kind of wurst at their grilled meat stand. I thought that the ones we cooked at home were better. We paired it with German potato salad for dinner. It was delicious and satisfying. My mother also bought a pound of the same sausage, but now refuses to eat it because she says that it contains beef. There's no sensible reason for her not to eat beef. She just does it to be contrary. She's certainly missing out on a taste sensation. I asked her if I could have her pound, but she refused. She's complex. She also got some BREAKFAST SAUSAGE (NUERNBERGER STYLE W/SWEET MARJORAM AND SAGE) which she absolutely loved. I have been thinking about buying meat in bulk recently so I took a look. They proceeded to show me box after box of different cuts of frozen steak and chicken and telling me stories of how each cut and marinade is the best. I am not a meat aficionado, but I know enough to know that all frozen meat looks pretty much the same. There was no way to tell if this was grade a meat or dog food, and when they repeatedly told me about their guarantee, all I could think about was the guarantee Chris Farley gives in Tommy Boy. When I balked at their initial price, the other guy in the van then gets his "boss" on the phone and tells me that he wants to negotiate a deal. Things felt a little sketchy at that point and I told him I needed to grab my phone from inside the house. The first thing I did was go to yelp and thankfully all of the terrible reviews made my decision a no-brainer. I went back out to the van and told them I was not interested. They reacted the same way as others have described but didn't have an answer when told them I wasn't buying because of their terrible reviews on yelp. Thank you Yelpers!

We were looking for thai bird's eye chili's, and haven't found a local Asian grocery since they tore down Golden Bridge (I miss that store so much) to put in yet another Wawa. So we decided to venture into new territory and visit an Indian grocer. The parking lot is a Rollercoaster. A maniac must have designed and graded it. The store is tightly packed. Product, crates, and bags of rice make narrow passageways impossible for wheelchairs. We found the chilis. Thank goodness Jeremy was with me, because I never could have gotten to the shelves myself and no one seemed interested in making sure I found what I needed. I would have liked to have explored the shelves more, but I felt uncomfortable in the store and couldn't wait to leave. The guy at the register did not speak to us. Didn't tell us the total for our purchases or thank us for shopping there. There was a cart blocking the exit, from the outside, so it was more difficult than necessary to leave. Guess we'll continue our mission to find a suitable Asian grocery, because I have no intention of returning.

You don't feel rushed. They could be a little friendlier... Prices are a bit higher than what I've been paying in grocery stores, that speaks more to the quality than price-gouging in my opinion. The worst part of Northeast Market is the high counters...ugh. That won't go in my rating, but short people should be advised - there's a bit of a reach for practically EVERYTHING in there.

Our server, Francesca, was amazing. She was so friendly, personable, and attentive. I told her I was torn between the chili mac and the loaded mac, and she recommended the loaded. The pit beef was sooooo good. Perfectly cooked to medium, tender, and flavorful. The pulled pork was also delicious and the mac and cheese was super creamy. Also loved the bbq sauce. It wasn't too sweet or too vinegary. Also got a side of fries and they were so good; they reminded me of five guys fries. Overall we had such a good experience and the food was amazing. I can't wait to come back!
