Came here randomly on a Wednesday in a group of 6. I have heard lots of great things about their food and wanted to see if the hype is legit (spoiler alert: it is!) Our server, Francesca, was amazing. She was so friendly, personable, and attentive. I told her I was torn between the chili mac and the loaded mac, and she recommended the loaded. The pit beef was sooooo good. Perfectly cooked to medium, tender, and flavorful. The pulled pork was also delicious and the mac and cheese was super creamy. Also loved the bbq sauce. It wasn't too sweet or too vinegary. Also got a side of fries and they were so good; they reminded me of five guys fries. Overall we had such a good experience and the food was amazing. I've been eyeing this spot for a minute and finally gave it a try. I split the Reuben and Rachel with my friend and they both were a HIT. I think my favorite was Reuben - it was good quality cuts of beef. The Rachel made me feel greedy lol - it was piled so high but it was so good. I regret nothing. Swung by after a ballgame upon recommendation of a friend in the area. Glad we did! Situated in the middle of a nearby shopping plaza with limited indoor and outdoor seating- we sat at the bar which had about a dozen seats. We had the loaded Mac and cheese with a draft Sam Adam's seasonal. They also have Kona wave, Corona, blue moon, sierra hazy, victory golden ale, and a blueberry wheat in tap. The smoked meats were all delicious- nicely smoked with just the right amount of bbq sauce. I enjoyed the flavors of each meat. It's pit beef done right. Finished it off with a black bottom cupcake- they also have a variety of cheesecakes and some other desserts. They have a full bar, so paired my dessert with an espresso martini. This was my first time having pit beef and I really enjoyed it. The fries, that came with it were not so great.... they tasted like potato skin although I don't remember seeing much skin on them. Either way, not a fan. The desserts were hit or miss. The black cherry milkshake was a definite hit! Loved it! The combination brownie/cheesecake dessert was a real disappointment. It looked SO good, but it seems like they forgot to add the sugar to the cheesecake portion of the dessert. Not sure if I would drive an hour out of the way to dine here again, but I might check out some of the other menu items if I'm in the area. Yum! We just tried this spot today and it was great! I've seen the food truck around the area and had heard good things. When I learned they were going to have a physical location I was stoked! We tried several different items to get a feel for the place, and even the super picky DBF was happy. We ordered a med-rare pit beef, a pit turkey, a pulled chicken and the potato salad. The beef was cooked perfectly w a great char-grilled flavor. There were even crispy bits of charred meat which gave it a good texture too. The turkey was nice and thin w a nice fresh taste. It also had that yummy charred flavor. The pulled chicken was lightly coated in BBQ sauce and was very tender. I might ask for some extra sauce on the side next time, it really went well w the chicken. All three sandwiches were loaded w meat and were very filling. I felt underwhelmed here. The BBQ sandwich I had was overall good, but I found the sauce a little plain. The fries were prepared well but a little limp. For the price I paid, it didn't hold up. So delightfully pleasing! We absolutely loved this pit beef restaurant. You place your order at the front and once it is ready they call your name at the side counter. You can pick up your order and then add some accompaniments to it from the assortment of condiments they have. You can also request their are different sauces. During our visit they helped us narrow down I things that we were interested in until we found the perfect items for our meal. We decided on a pit beef, a shrimp salad, and a pulled pork sandwich. We also tried the macaroni and cheese, onion rings, and cornbread. We loved everything! They also have several cold cases where you can pick up dessert items and a large assortmentof à la cart of sides, sauces, and more. They have so many ways for you to enjoy their menu. We made sure to get some of their cheesecake, black bottoms, and sides for later. This is definitely somewhere I would recommend and most certainly return to. I went ordered a sandwich and took home when I open it I was surprise how less meat was on the sandwich. The next day when back to see what they would do for me however I was surprise how lack of concerned they displayed sayings this how it's is. I talked 3 people but no was willing to help. So then I wanted to talk with the owner, was not in but will be there in couple of days. So went back in a couple days and he was there load food and supplies for an event he was catering. Came here to have lunch with some friends as we completed mobile work. Let's just say, I'll have to come back here again with more friends to show them how amazing this place is! The menu ranged from sandwiches, pit meat, tacos, sides, drinks, and even ice cream! You can order in your phone at your table from a QR code. I got the pulled pork tacos and they were damn delicious. I didn't need to add anything extra to the tacos because they were perfectly crafted. I also got ice cream here since they have their own ice cream bar. That was also unsurprisingly delicious. Staff were super friendly and made small talk with us. There was not many people there while we worked so it was a great spot for us to sit for an hour or so without feeling the pressure of needing to leave. We had placed on order on 04/13/21 for pick up (wife called, I went to pick up). Our pit platters were missing the gravy and the order was missing the black bottom. The gentleman who answered our call after getting home said when we order next time we would be "taken care of." We ended up using the only sauce we had in the house as I did not wish to drive all the way back for our now cold food. Sadly, this meant dry meat and dry fries for the most part compared to what we ordered with gravy all over. We just called back a few minutes ago 04/16/21 and the offer was an extra black bottom and would reduce the cost of the gravy off a meal. It really should have been definitive as what "taken care of" meant as I was now forced to order a second time to receive the gravy and black bottom we were owed as they did not want to just refund it back on my card as originally suggest when my wife called in. We declined to purchase again as we really did not want to order there tonight but were missing the items and didn't want to wait long to recoup the few bucks in case they had forgotten about us. The girl who took the call and checked with someone apologized if it was "miscommunication" or "misconstrued." I don't think we will be returning even though the items we did receive were pretty good. I would rather have piece of mind if a mistake is made and multiple items are forgotten, that I will not have to give them another sale only to get the what I should have originally received. **Update** It appears if you place an order, you are expected to pull some of your own food items compared to picking up your order fully at the counter like most places. I only write reviews when I care and I want your place to do well. Your food has all the potential in the world to be absolutely amazing, but something is always off with my order. I don't know if you have had the same kitchen manager/chef for sometime or not...but for the love of sweet Jesus, teach this person how to make french fries! With Mission BBQ right across the road with fries, you really need to make sure you are not passing out the consistently mushy fries you pass off every single time. They could be incredible but it's either laziness or inability to make them crispy and to add salt ‍ Like I said, I dig this place...but prepare to be super excited with the idea...and disappointed on the execution. Although our guests at Island View on Sunday enjoyed the food very much, there were a couple areas where the service provided was sub-standard: 1. The delivery was almost 30 minutes late. Although you did make me aware that the delivery was running 5 minutes late (you called me at 12:23p - food delivery time was scheduled for 12:30p), the actual delivery guy didn't arrive until 12:50p. The party was to begin at 1:00p. He didn't even begin set up until after 1:00 and our guests were already starting to arrive. This was not acceptable and very embarrassing. Given that he was late, I would have thought that he would be moving a little quickly to get the food in and set up, but he was very slow and very unmotivated or helpful. Didn't really know what was in sauce containers, no explanation. I ended up pitching in to complete the set up because, by this time my guests were there. 2. We were supposed to receive lettuce, tomatoes and onions for the sandwiches and this was not with the delivery. By the time you would have made an additional delivery to bring those items, our guests would have already finished eating. Many of our guests had asked about onions for their pit beef, including my husband. Again, not acceptable and totally unprofessional. Although the food tasted okay, I was not happy with end product due to the service. After days of searching and less than a week from my fiance's 50th Birthday Bash, it was by pure luck that I found this place. I was certain they would tell me that I hadn't given them enough time to prepare all of the food I wanted to order, to accommodate 50 guests. Instead, The Rolling Grill Pit Beef came through for me! My catered order consisted of: Mini Pit Beef/Ham Sandwiches, Crab Balls, BBQ Chicken Kabobs, Tomato Caprese Skewers, Roasted Red Potatoes, Green Beans, Steamed Asparagus. Discovered this local gem while hunting for the best barbacoa tacos in the area. First time I came my mother and I ordered pulled pork tacos and the barbacoa tacos, where we discovered their pulled pork is insanely good. The barbacoa was also very good, but the pulled pork was the winner there. Now our go-to order tends to be the pulled-pork sandwich, which is only $7.50 and served on a brioche bun. I customize mine when ordering online to include caramelized onions, lettuce, and sometimes provolone. It's absolutely divine. They pack the meat on there and there's often too much of it, so every bite some falls off and into the container. My sister's go-to order is the turkey sandwich; she always gets a sauce (usually the Tiger sauce) because then the sandwich comes across as a little too dry without it. We always order two French fry orders for three people. It's hit or miss on how much you'll get with the French fries; sometimes they stuff the bag to the point where one order is enough, other times there'll be just enough with two orders of fries. They also load the fries up with salt, so if you don't want too much salt then specifically request that. We haven't eaten in, we just grab our food to-go and take it home to enjoy. They do have some outdoor seating though, which is a nice option. read more

Best pit turkey in town. Got carry out from here a couple weeks ago and ordered the pit turkey sandwich, pit turkey and ham combo sandwich, and the rolling grill grilled cheese. The pit turkey sandwich was piled high with thinly sliced, almost shaved meat. I love that they use brioche buns instead of the standard potato or Kaiser roll. The barbacoa in the rolling grill grilled cheese had a nice smoked flavor with a hint of sweetness. This sandwich was so filling we had to save half for later. For sides we ordered the hand cut fries and tater tots. The fries were a little too mushy for my liking, but still good. Tots were nice and crisp. These were some of THE best BARBACOA STREET TACOS I have had. The meat was moist and so flavorful. The smokiness sent it over the edge. I was not expecting the portion size. I could only eat two and I gave my husband the third one. My son had a crap load of fries. I have a slight salt sensitivity and the fries were so on point when I tried them.
