I just moved to the area and needed to find a dentist. I'm not sure how I found Champlain but when I got there, it seemed really nice and professional, though it seemed like they wanted to talk money and my finances before they did anything else. My first visit was just fine although I was taken back by the crazy expensive services they said I needed. My second visit was for a cleaning. 1 hour and 45 minutes later I walked out. No one tried to explain what happened, no one called, no one emailed... so I figure they could care less. I'm new to the area so I guess my search for a new dentist will continue. On another note, they told me I need a TON of work... to the tune of over $5000. I go to the dentist faithfully every 6 months so why didn't my previously awesome dentist tell me any of this? This place has absolutely no respect for your time. Every time I have an appointment is gets cancelled last minute, and I don't mean occasionally I seriously mean every single time for over 2 years. Jonelle is great and the only reason I keep going to this place but everyone else from the receptionists who are clueless to what they're doing to the dentists that don't show up they are terrible. And they'll tell you not brush after cleaning for 90 min and charge you $150 for it and insurance won't cover it. read more

You lie to me I still have the root from that supposed extraction you did. I am going to file as many complaints I can. Let me begin by saying I'm one of those weird people who LOVES going to the dentist. So, I was excited to go to the new dental office conveniently located less than a block from my home. The office is very nice. Paperwork is competed on an IPad..not my thing but it was fine. Staff was very friendly from initial call in, the reminder call, etc. I'd scheduled myself, my husband & my son for a cleaning. I asked for first appointment of the day as to avoid a wait so we could leave to work afterward. I planned on this whole endeavor taking about an hour, maybe a bit longer. It had been over a year for all of us and teeth cleaning was definitely much needed. They have a lot of new technology, which is fine but what we were most interested in was clean teeth. This was a bit of a disaster. We were immediately escorted back, xrays taken (SO many xrays....) And then the waiting game began. There were 3 staff members including the Dr, no other patients waiting or otherwise, and it seemed like there was zero planning or staggering of activities. We finally got out at 10:15 (2 hrs 15 mins) later and that was only because I was insisting that my husband & I had to leave & go to work. My main issues: it felt like their only interest was in up-selling services. I'm double insured and apparently basic flouride isn't included w/ a cleaning. Really? Most dentists provide flouride standard. After the xrays and exam, the receptionist comes back & makes you sign more forms, trying to lock you into services. It was SUCH a put-off. Terrible format. When it was finally time to clean my teeth, the Dr did it. She's definitely NOT a hygenist. She spent about 5 minutes running some drill-type tool across my teeth. Zero scraping between teeth. No picking at the tartar. Not thorough at all. I was in shock. After she finished, the assistant polished my teeth. Kind of. He then ran some floss between my teeth. There is no sink to rinse. No mouthwash. Nothing. My mouth felt dirty & unfresh. My husband had the same experience. We had to go home & brush our teeth afterward because they simply weren't clean. My son didn't even get the drill/cleaning device. The DDS told her asst. to just use the polish. He really needed a cleaning and nothing was done. My husband's comment the second we stepped outside: "NOT impressed." We were shocked at what had just taken place. I'm mad. We've wasted our semi-annual cleanings on this place. I will have to go pay cash w another dentist & get an actual cleaning elsewhere. I'd highly recommend Dr Gil go get a cleaning at a real dentist & see how its supposed to go. Friendly? Yes. Clean office? Yes. That was about it. A waste of time and I'm sure my insurance was charged sufficiently for these non-cleanings. Not happy. read more

Dr. Abalos is really great. I needed a few fillings and she was quick and did a good job. She was very knowledgeable and also did a great job on my cleaning. They have TVs in the chairs so you can watch tv while you wait. That definitely makes a trip to the dentist a little more enjoyable if you ask me. Staff is friendly and the office is clean. A business with great integrity. I recently underwent a dental repair @ Champlain Dentistry. Upon checking out & paying the bill that I had been quoted, the dentist came in and said there would be a deduction on the price they had originally quoted because they found the job wasn't as detailed as they had expected. Recently I had my first visit here and am quite pleased. My last dental visit was a while ago (and I had a bad experience and that dental place actually closed down). Due to prior bad dental experience elsewhere, I was hesitant going to have my next visit but Dr. Galeon, Gilbert and other staff were great. Fantastic bedside manners and explained everything they were doing and why they recommended things. I'm definitely coming back for my next visit. Also my friend needed a crown and was able to get it on the same day (which I thought was unheard of until we saw the crown being printed! It was pretty remarkable). read more

Finding a good dentist can be quit challenging. That's been in the cards for me this year. I may not yelp a ton but trust me I use Yelp and other apps to check reviews, I relay on you people to share your knowledge and experiences with places and items,food and so on to help me decide if I should give it a go. After reading the reviews on Champlain Dentistry I felt a few people left a yelps out of anger not fair judgment. That's not the way to leave a review. It left me skeptical, so I did my own research and called and point blank asked. One review I saw about CD was about tardiness, OH PLEASE!! If a patient is late it can cause a domino effect and make everyone late. This Yelp did not convince me. The other review was about a dentist who is no longer with CD. So the moral of the story is research! Champlain Dentistry/CD not only got me in next day, they fit me with a Dentist they felt I would suit my needs. DDS Cave. He is amazing! I was a traveler through the city of Fresno on a Saturday on my way to vacationing in Yosemite. I had an emergency need to repair a temporary bridge that my dentist at home was working on. I have never encountered such excellent, caring and satisfactory service in my life at a medical or service practice for emergencies. I was astounded that here I was someone walking in on an emergency basis was given such wonderful and caring treatment. I followed Dr. Abalos here from another office since she is the best dentist I've ever had. Jonelle and Stephanie were an added bonus. Jonelle the hygienist is great and Stephanie always explained the billing and insurance coverage in detail. I was a happy patient for a long time. Unfortunately Dr. Abalos and Stephanie are no longer with Champlain Dentistry and they started scheduling me with a different hygienist. No one can seem to provide a quote on my treatment plan with my new insurance as Stephanie used to do. I do plan on completing my treatment with them but I'm definitely not as comfortable with the change in staffing. read more

Do not go here AT ALL. Do not let the high technologies trick you into thinking that there is quality. I came here because I wasn't able to reschedule with my regular dentist for a cleaning. I regret coming here. They billed my insurance for 9 procedures and half of them weren't covered by my insurance. For example, $76 for hygiene instruction??? My insurance wouldn't cover these unnecessary procedures which has to come from my pocket. I just asked for a cleaning and fluoride which I know is covered my insurance and I never had a problem with it before. $$$ out of pocket for a mediocre cleaning, polishing, and fluoride. read more

At first I was super happy and excited that this place was able to accommodate me in an emergency to look at a tooth ache-the doctor I saw was the same doc that had supposedly just did a root canal on same tooth with tooth ache. They checked me out said I would need another entodontic to review. Odd because this is what I thought I had driven all the way across town for this current facility to look at. I was completely confused and no explanation. Then the doctor prescribed me amoxicillin and IB profin (6days worth) with no explanation as to why he gave me amoxicillin. Im not a professional and this is only the second time that I have ever experienced a tooth ache. Then the assistant to doctor told me that he was going to go check about appointments and come right back. When I realized they forgot about me A half hour later I took the bib off got up walked into the front and they gave me a piece of paper that was a referral to entodontic. They weren't going to even explain that I needed to call the new facility to schedule an appointment thankfully I asked. Clarification and directions are needed people! I came seeking help and you act like this is my job that I know procedures and no need to explain? I left with my 6 days of IB profin and the next appointment is not for 20 days. Also I called to try to talk to someone after visit when the new facility hadn't received what i was told was sent. They then hung up on me and when I called back they then proceeded to say that it was me that ended call. Lol not professional ALL around. Was very disappointed with service. read more

Couldn't be happier with my experience here. I called in a panic on a Thursday after a crown broke while I was eating. I immediately went to an urgent care type dentist for a consult and the quote was ridiculous since they were out of network with my insurance. I called Champlain and the woman who answered said they could see me first thing the next day and she would call my insurance. She called right and went above and beyond to help me. The next morning I was seen at 7:00 for the consultation. After they explained my insurance wouldn't pay and so they explained all my payment options and even gave a $200 discount. I was trying to hide being over emotional from the anxiety of the dentist and all the money I didn't have but all the staff were empathetic and patient. Yes I hate the dentist but I will go back here it needed. The repair they did also had a 5 year warranty so I left a happy camper read more

I waited over an hour twice here to be seen for an X-ray, exam, and dental cleaning. As a mommy of two toddlers and a full time worker I genuinely don't have time to sit and wait for an hour for a company who can't manage their scheduling better. Had it been once I woulda brushed it off as an abnormal situation but twice and the only two times I've ever been?! That's disappointing. Hopefully they learn how to better help their customers and schedule their patients at times they can see them. Oh also I didn't get my exam or a cleaning after that. Super awesome...... read more

I have now been to this office twice. Each time the customer service was outstanding. Each and every employee makes you feel welcomed. They answer all your questions and go into detail regarding your treatment. Dr Gill is very east to talk to and compassionate. They even worked up a plan to accommodate my finances. On this last visit, I had my teeth scaled and cleaned by Jonelle, the hygienist. She did an excellent job. I had gone to my previous doctor for years, then I retired and no longer had dental coverage. After many years of no dental check ups, I finally found a low rate plan, but I was limited to doctor options. My previous doctor, whom I was very happy with, was not covered by this new plan. I was a bit nervous to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. Although I have had multiple oral surgeries, I was nervous about going some place new. They were so kind from the start, realizing that I had to drive 5 1/2 hours from my town to get there. They scheduled me a new patient appointment early morning and extraction right after that. The front desk ladies were incredibly sweet and helpful. I loved the dentist I met who glanced over my mouth to see what was going on. The extractions felt like they were three minutes long and before I knew it I was home in my own bed. My only issue with this experience is that I can't eat a huge burger right now. I would suggest this dentistry to anyone in need of work. The whole place was high tech and easy. Everyone was nice and it was a comfortable environment. I had the absolute worst experience here. I take good care of my teeth and have for years, but due to a new job and different insurance, I had to switch to an PPO plan which meant a new Dentist. I decided to try this place out. The dentist was very aggressive, told me I had 13 cavities, that I needed a Root Canal, and had periodontal disease. He told all this within two minutes after my X-Rays. He didn't even test my gums for periodontal disease, just told me I had it! He made me feel very bad about myself and needless to say, I left that appointment very depressed. I went to work, told some people what had happened and everyone suggested I get a second opinion. I took their advice, scheduled another appointment with a DDS whom alot of co-workers had recommended. Come to find out, I had 1 cavity, DID NOT need a Root Canal and definitely did not have periodontal disease (what 28 year old who brushes their teeth with a sonic care and flosses daily would have periodontal disease? It takes years for your gums to depreciate like that.) It was very clear that this company was part of an umbrella company and were only there to make money. And in my case, selling a complete lie to me to get my business. I cannot stress how terrible this place is. Maybe it was just my Dentist (several work there) but I will never go back. read more

Some of their equipment is newer technology I'd never seen before. About a year and a half ago I took my mom who is now 82 with Alzheimers to Gental Dental. This was the worst mistake ever as the "dentist" wanted nothing to do with her, then lied about what he told me my options were. I tried another dentist but after my moms insurance changed, she could no longer go there. I was given a list from my moms insurance and tried Champlain Dentistry. Before I had taken her to any dentist I know she had not been seen in years and needed tons of work. She needed a root canal and they sent her to their Fig Garden location and the procedure was done on the same day as her first appointment. She had to follow up at Champlain a week later for a deep cleaning, then two days later for the other half of her deep cleaning and crown.I am amazed that both of the offices took her on as a patient and treated her with so much kindness and respect, especially knowing all she had been through. Dr. Hernandez, Dr. Alzwaideh and Jonelle are the ones who worked on her teeth but the ENTIRE staff was amazing. They took care of her needs within a week when the other dentist didn't want to bother with her.Someone on here wrote a review and stated there were no sinks to rinse,you're delusional as my mom used two out of who knows how many sinks are in these offices.Also,for the people complaining about cost..go to those cheap dental offices that probably don't sanitize their tools properly. I have been here since the day this dentistry is opened! The first dds is caring and awesome! She had wonderful staff that knows you by name. I don't know what happened but dr Lopez is there next. He always recommend many unnecessary fillings and other work. I always have to pay around 200. I went to see another dds and he said no need to do any. Your teeth are healthy. Then It's dr wisaic he gave me a shot before filling and my face was swollen for a month! It still hurts! I h ad a reaction to the shot dentist gave me. i'm a pretty broke college student and my teeth as of late have been in shambles. i try to be really on top of it but they have more issues than i have money so whenever i went into champlain i was a little embarrassed at the state of them. thankfully for me, i was in great hands at every step of the way, with faculty soothing my worries, being non judgmental, and making jokes to make me feel more comfortable. Before leaving i asked for everyone's name to write a yelp review since apparently it's "weird" to leave dentists tips haha. After doing my research and seeing the great reviews for this dentistry, I decided to give it a try and haven't looked back since. EVERYONE takes their time to explain and answer any questions or concerns you may have. I didn't have any challenges with my insurance here since they explained prior to full treatment what the cost would be (also the company I work for had already explained to me what would or would not be covered) they made it super easy for me and contacted my provider and all. But honestly shout out to Jonelle (hygienist). She is absolutely incredible! You need to experience getting your teeth cleaned and polished up by her. Not only is she professional, quick, kind, gentle, and a great conversationalist..she is also funny!! I grew up hating and having a fear of going to the dentist but knowing I'll be going in for a check up and have her as my hygienist makes the experience easy breezy.
