I wouldn't expect much from a lousy corporate chain but I would at least expect the bartenders to acknowledge you need flatware to eat and get an order right. It was not busy and impossible to get the bartenders attention so we had to ask the host for our silverware. Order came out wrong as well but being in the business I didn't fuss about it. read more

The food is always good here, although the major reduction to the menu is a disappointment. I loved Champps because of the large variety on their menu. What I cannot stand is the incredibly loud music that has been playing the last two times we have gone into the restaurant. It is so loud, that you have to yell to speak to the people you are there having dinner with. It makes having a conversation uncomfortable. If I wanted music that loud, I would go to a nightclub to eat my dinner. Since I actually like talking to my partner while we're out dining together, it will likely keep me from going back again, which is sad, because it was one of my favorite casual dining places. read more

Can't give this one a great review...violated my own "just get the burger" sports bar rule. Starving after a flight in and no lunch. Started with chips and queso... which had no flavor at all. Just white goo. Ordered a chicken Cobb salad... chicken was dry and overcooked. The veggies were reasonably fresh, but DON'T order the blue cheese dressing... tasted like ranch with chunks of almost undiscernable cheese thrown in. Had to use some to cover up the dry chicken unfortunately. Only positive part...the house Chardonnay was fairly cheap! Won't be back. read more

I had a sirloin that was okay, decent enough but nothing to shout about. I shouted anyway. The seasonal veggies must have been from Iceland because they were cold and the mashed potatoes were crumbly, as if they didn't have enough milk or cream. Used to come here all the time and it was great..I have to say though over the last 5 years or so it's been going downhill. I don't know if they have a different food distributor or what but what used to be quality is not anymore. I understand it's a chain so I can't expect much, but it's a disappointment from what it used to be. My final chance I gave it I had to send my chicken back twice (I never send food back) but it was just chicken. How hard is that. The first time it was freezing still in the middle and the second time they must have just heated it up as it was still cold in the middle. Talk about food poisoning. The manager apologized and offered a discount but at this point it should just be right. My husband ordered a burger asked for it medium rare and it was charred ( he doesn't care because he was starving and will pretty much eat anything). Monday night, 2 female bartenders I thought it was just because I was the only female sitting at the bar but another out-of-towner - a male- sat next to me and had was ignored for at least 15 min like me. The food is mediocre at best. The service is poor. My husband and I sat at the bar. Everyone of the bar staff was watching television and had their backs to all the customers. I had to walk to the end of the bar and ask for service. We had one drink and left. I won't be returning. There are better places in Eden Prairie, such as Jake's or Santorini. read more

This place has always been OK for a happy hour or food. Parking has always been a big pain and usually keeps me from here. After today, I highly doubt I will return at all. I can get a $14 burger anywhere but with service. We showed up and it was busy in the restaurant but that is not unusual for lunch at the EP Champps. Seated on the patio, we along with other tables waited over an hour. We ultimately did not ever get our food. We did not even get the salads up front. We left due to having to get back for meetings. Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism exhibited by many of the bartenders and wait staff last evening. We have been there many times before and always enjoyed our experiences. However, last nights service was horrible. While we and other patrons who were sitting at the bar attempted to get the attention of a bartender they seemed to be much more interested in throwing ice cubes down the front of the waitresses blouse. Of course her answer was to go outside and returned with a snowball that she threw at a bartender. The snowball hit his head as he poured a glass of wine. I'm sure the person who received that drink was quite impressed with the dirty snow splattered inside and outside of the glass. Based on the way the bartenders were drinking shots behind the bar it appears that they may have been more inebriated than most of their patrons. We spoke with the manager on duty who seemed unconcerned. We could not have been more disappointed! read more

Service was horrible. Our waitress was more concerned about the men watching UFC and chatting it up with them rather than be attentive to our table. Worst of all, we were charged $5.00 each for coming on a UFC night. No verbal warning to the charge was given. Embarrassingly Slow and NON-existant waitress and Horrible Food...and it bums us out because my wife and I had our 1st date here 8 years ago, so we REALLY want to like this place! After tonight, so sad, I don't think we'll ever be back :( almost funny how long in between every order, food delivery (40 Minutes),and getting to go box, and check...but was right there to collect the check(big shock)! Both entrees arrived ice cold and missing items,, fries REALLY cold and not edible, had to remind her to remove billed items that never came, and could never find her at all when needed multiple times. SHAME ON YOU CHAMPPS EXECUTIVES FOR ALLOWING THIS! Customer service in this economy should be the best any of us have had in years due to how important every dollar is right now, when we choose to come spend it there...and don't you want us to return? These 2 customer service oriented people are aware that this is the ultimate business goal...and remember, a restaurant customer may not rave about a good experience, but will always tell others about a bad one;) Unacceptable to the both of us and sad that we have to say "Goodbye". We walked in the front door on a Sat. at 5 pm and the place was empty. The music was so loud we couldn't hear the 4 hosts/hostesses behind the counter. We asked if we could sit outside, they said something about the seats being because the sky had only been cleared for about 15 minutes since the rain but other people were startting to sit out there. You would think one or two of the four could have gone out and wiped off the chairs. Finally sat down in the "screened in" and the service was very poor. No plates for the appetizer, there were 3 of us, plates weren't cleared after we were finished eating, no offer of doggie boxes. It was still very slow and lots of waiters and waitresses just hanging around. Next time we will sit at the bar. read more
