The food was fine. The service was pretty good. But I hate to frequent this business when they refuse to pay their taxes.

I used to eat lunch there every Wednesday. Twice in the past two weeks I've called ahead to order my food, and both times I was put on hold and the hold was never picked up again. The steak bites we had were tough. The weight staff was rude. The service was slow and they tried to charge me for an extra beer.

I was in there on Saturday April 12 th . I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and fries . The food was ok . I played etab and was buying a few pull tabs . I was told by the bartender that if I win not to say any thing because her friend was into the box about two hundred . I ended up winning and left a tip . She picked it up and said what is this . I told her that is for you . She replied that's it then said everybody leaves at least a 10 % tip and that's what I need to leave . She did not want to wait on me because her friend was playing them . I decided to leave and pay my tab . She would not wait on me to pay my tab but did come up and said sorry but you need to leave 10 % . They could not find my tab and I gave them a gift card . They took all of the gift card and tossed it into the garbage . I never got a receipt. Money hungry bartenders ! Just stay away you will be glad you did . read more

It's a dive bar. We sat at the bar on a Saturday and immediately found ourselves in the midst of a chirping match with two of the people already seated. Just some drunk guys talking smack, but was a jarring entry for us. That said, we had a great experience otherwise. Burgers and fries were good and they have a decent beer selection. Visited in first "no mask" day in the area for ĺunch. Place was fairly quiet on this weekday and our server approached promptly. I ordered a Blue Cheese burger (they say burgers are their specialty) so as a first timer I wasn't going in a different direction. The burger arrived promptly and looked good (see photo) but the fries were cold and the burger overcooked to "very well done" status. Service was fine but we certainly didn't receive the attention given to the obvious "regulars" who were seated at the bar, didn't have food but enjoyed their fair share, and a bit more, of beer only. But I get it. The place is nice; plenty of TVs and a good mix of tables both inside and streetside. Their own description of a great view of the small lake in town is more than a bit overstated. The lake is visible if traffic isn't bad and you get the ideal table. Vic's is an O.K. spot and chances are you'll have a reasonably good experience in a small community with limited options. Food was Average if not OK. I had ordered the Fish and Chips for Lunch and was expecting more on the Fish!! I was also expecting fresh fried chips but instead they substituted it with French Fries which is NOT Chips despite being deep fried with Potatoes. Anyways I was also disappointed in that sense and would not dine here despite now living in Victoria, MN with my relatives and finding a job here as a CAD Drafter far up in St Michaels, MN and originally coming from Chicago, IL where we literally cook "Fish and Chips"! Actually, their food is really good. Great burgers. It's the owner, his girlfriend and one a bartender/waitress that are completely out of line. I was there on 11/6/22 between the hours of 5-7pm, with a friend and my son. About 6-6:30, the owner and his girlfriend come in completely wasted. Out of nowhere I was asked by the owner where my son was, I responded he was in the restroom. I was then asked why I let my son go to the restroom by himself. My son is ELEVEN YEARS OLD, by the way. I was perplexed. And confused. So I asked what the problem was. I was then asked by the owner who was driving home. What the hell? I was there for 2 hours. I definitely wasn't drinking to get drunk, like they apparently did. I mean the man was slurring. I go to the restroom before I'm leaving and the owners girlfriend gets confrontational with me, and I get kicked out. Complete bullshit. I'll NEVER be back. I've brought my family in there many times and spent a good amount of money there. NEVER again. Get sober asshole. Wasted doesn't look good on you. A great place in the little town of Victoria. The staff was great and so was the live music (with no cover on this Saturday night!). I prefer real glass as opposed to the plastic, but did appreciate the fact that the very drunk woman by me was given her shot in a mini solo cup. A cozy little sports bar and grill in downtown Victoria known for their burgers. I got the veggie burger and it was decent! Good crinkle fries and impressive tap beer list. Was disappointed they wouldn't let me sub or do sweet potato fries with a surcharge vs. regular fries or chips - would have had to order a whole basket so I stuck with the regular (crinkle) fries. Service was underwhelming - quick to take your order and serve you once you are seated but unfriendly and we were quickly forgotten once our food came. They also screwed up the toppings on my burger which was still good so I didn't say anything. Would go back only because they are incredibly convenient to where I live and they have a solid beer list. read more

Summary: Eat somewhere else. Pros: Nice view of lake, nicely landscaped patio that allows dogs. Food was pretty good. Cons: Service was poor to unbelievably confrontational with a manager who should not be allowed around human beings. Vic's service is group service and four people came to our table. When group service works, it's attentive; when it doesn't work, servers don't know what's been done and three people give you a bill (in this case with an overcharge they refused to remove). To be fair, there was one good waitress, one ok one, one bad one, and an abysmal manager. The first bad waitress took our drink order and didn't know what wine types they had--never mind labels.The ok waitress who took our food order wouldn't make a substitution. The good waitress who delivered the food was very friendly. The manager was a piece of work. We ordered a beer, a Bacon Jalapeno Burger ($11) and a Chicken Bacon Swiss sandwich ($11.75). We received the chicken sandwich minus the bacon and swiss. I order chicken sandwiches in restaurants all the time and didn't notice I hadn't gotten the bacon and swiss until I was almost done. I mentioned the order error to the manager who told me I should have alerted them right away instead of eating the sandwich. I said I could have misordered and I just wanted to make sure I paid only for the chicken sandwich I got, not the chicken bacon swiss sandwich I didn't get. He left and came back a few minutes later to tell me he checked with the staff and insisted that I did too get the bacon and swiss on my sandwich. I assured him I did not. He said he trusted his staff more than me and he absolutely would not adjust the bill. He said I should have told him right away, even though there was no one around when I noticed it was missing. Basically, this manager accused a well-off, middle-aged woman of lying to try to scam Vic's out of $1.75 in bacon and cheese. I was blown away. I worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and have never as a customer or an employee seen a manager as confrontational and accusatory as this one. He has no business in the restaurant industry in a customer-facing position. Obviously, I will never go back. I was still stunned hours after the incident. I suggest if you want a pleasant evening you don't even think about eating at Vic's. read more

Vic's is not a place to go for salad or if you are on any kind of schedule. It is the kind of place where the people the wait staff knows get service and the others of us sit and wait and wait and wait. It is the kind of place where your questions are answered with one word - and the word is mostly "no". I actually believe it is the kind of place retired people go to get drunk and has little to recommend it beyond the availability of a very pedestrian list of liquors. 2nd try was exactly the same experience as the first. I wish the property that features Victoria's view of the very pretty Lake Steiger (now obstructed by parking) belonged to a different restaurant. read more

The food(at least the burgers, stay away from the reuben) is pretty good, but the service is the worst I've ever dealt with. As others have mentioned, I watched the bartender do shots with the local customers while forgetting to put my order into the system tonight. I'd say that this was just a bad night, but until tonight I had been visiting fairly regularly. For that last few months the service has been worse with every visit, no matter what time of day. I was with a couple friends for a birthday party and we were were having a few drinks and playing pool. We were asked rudely to leave by the waitress because she said someone in our party was smoking. However, no one in our party smokes...we felt we we targeted for being on the younger side (26-29) year olds. We tried to tell our waitress that we would never do that, but she was very rude back to us and told us we we're kicked out. Even before this character assassination the bar itself was much lower than average. Go to Floyd's if you want to have a good time! They are much less judgmental! read more

I absolutely love the burgers here! They are wonderful. I love the seasoning used on the tator tots too. I'm not typically a fan of tator tots, but these are amazing. The cheese curds are fantastic too. I'm a Bloody Mary fan and I really like the mix they use. It's truly one of the best tasting Bloody Mary's that I have ever had. My only suggestion with them is that an exciting and tasty skewer special would be a bonus! There are some goodies, but more on a skewer would make it a real treat. Don't forget to order the cheese stuffed pretzel with the cheese dipping sauce too. read more

Only because I cannot give it 0. I literally just left this place! Always looking for a new place for food and a good beer. Floyds was packed so thought why not try it out. Clean inside is about the only good thing I can say! Walked in, several chairs available at bar so sat down. 10 minutes later, after watching the bartender chat with the people next to us another bartender washing dishes and a male bartender laughing it up with what I assumed were regulars we got up and walked out! ! Never acknowledged, the bar had at least 5 spots open (not a big bar mind you) dining area wasn't full nor was patio!! Pretty sad! read more
