I got a SUV from here and not even six months later, the transmission went out & now I have to come out of way more money than I had to put down. I KNEW I would be re-posting this when I took it down..... I received a phone call from a sales person named Ray from Champs Auto Sales. I was working so the call went to voicemail. Ray told me that he had gotten my inquiry regarding credit and had gotten me "Pre-Approved" for a car loan. He said they had a zero-down program going on and he wanted me to come down so that he could get me into it. He told me all I would need would be a drivers license (or state issued ID) and proof of income. (Bank Statement/Paystubs, etc.). When I got off work, I called him and set up the appointment to go down and pick up my new car.     What happened instead was that I arrived, met Ray and looked (only looked) at several vehicles on the lot, at which point Ray invited me into the office so that we could fill out an application to send to the bank to obtain financing. Remember I am already "PRE-APPROVED". I filled out his application and the next thing I knew I was being called into the office to talk to Sean, the finance manager. Ray never said anything else. Sean asked for bank records and such and said he was sending everything over to the finance company to see what they say. Again, I am PRE-APPROVED. I was sent to the outer office to await a response, then Sean left and another guy (have no idea what his name was) entered and asked more questions. HE sent me back to the outer office saying that the finance company was going to call me with questions of their own because they like to interview the people they lend money to. 24 minutes later, I had not received a call. I was told to go home that the finance company would call me in the morning and I was to call them at the dealership a soon as I heard from them.     This morning I waited until 12 noon and heard nothing from the finance company. I called Ray and was immediately shifted to Sean who said the finance company had declined to finance my car.  not to sound like a broken record, but....    I WAS PRE-F'ING-APPROVED!!!!!    They didn't even have the common decency to call and tell me. I wasted an afternoon for nothing all because someone decided to be less than honest with me. I hope Ray and Sean can sleep at night. I hope no one ever bull$#!+s them the way they bull$#!+ other people. I know I will never do business with Champs Auto, and I will never recommend that anyone else do either.   To quote Paul Harvey, ".....and NOW, the rest of the story" I originally posted this after my initial visit to Champs which left me feeling less than serviced. The day after I posted it (last Friday), I received a call from Sean Harrison telling me he had good news. He would be able to get me financed afterall, even if it meant financing my car in-house. While on the phone, he received an email regarding my post on social media. (Odd timing, don't you think???) Suddenly, he was terribly shocked and audibly disappointed. He asked why I would post something like that when he was working SO hard to make my deal possible. Remember, he had previously told me that the only two possibilities for financing had said no??? He told me that this would have an adverse effect on Ray's employment, as the company has a strict policy regarding negative publicity especially on social media. He told me that Ray was in his 30 probationary period and would certainly be fired because of the company's zero tolerance policy. He then told me what a nice guy he thought I was and that he really was going to get this financing done for me of we could begin again and have a fresh start. He then asked if I could remove the post(s) and said that he would speak with his corporate people and hopefully be able to save Ray's job. I agreed. Remember, this was Friday of last week..... Yesterday, I had not heard anything from Sean so I emailed him and asked to be updated by the end of business today. This morning, I got a call from him and before we could even get to my situation, he told me how he was able to get in touch with the VP of the company and save Ray's job and he thanked me for taking down my review so that that could happen. NOW the story with my financing is that my lack of income coupled with my expenses (Of which my present lease payments would stop with the purchase of the new car), the only option would be in-house financing and that would entail a 40% down-payment on which ever car we go with...... When I asked about the original ZERO DOWNPAYMENT offer I had originally been offered, he responded that he was trying to help me and was going above and beyond to do so but all I wanted to do was keep bringing up "what we said to you to get you to come in". I am sorry, y'all I cannot make this up.... Honesty, if it weren't so funny, I would be mad. But is hard to be mad when you realize that the person lying to you knows that YOU know he is lying. read more

I decided to get a car note for the first time in my life and when I tell you, I regret making the decision to do so because i got the vehicle in July and just a month in I've been having issues with this vehicle, they keep sending me to their shop o geen k auto, and I've been taking them my vehicle only for things to get worse and each time my vehicle rode worse and worse, a week before Christmas the man at the shop named Evan claimed that my engine went out, they pressed the issue on them talking to the warranty department i get my vehicle back on a Thursday and the Monday before that thursday was the day that they supposedly started taking the engine out of my vehicle, when they gave me my vehicle back, the paper work says new engine but the mileage wasn't new, the vehicle started doing the same thing that it was doing before I gave it to them thee ump teen time, a week later the change engine oil light comes on and of course I confronted them and they did a oil change free of charge and at this point I have no faith in champs auto sales because instead of them helping me get my vehicle together they keep sending me to their auto place and if you ask me, my assumption is that they're working with the car shop and are milking the warranty department, I went on their current insta gram page under my video asking them to remove it due to my horrible experience and they were so unprofessional and blocked me, I wouldn't recommend any one to purchase a vehicle from them ever. read more

I left because the sales guy left me waiting in a trailer. this place is full of bs!they're very disrespectful!they were polite until i signed!2days later check engine lite comes on,2014 chevy impala ltz.got the run around for months!i think they showed me a fake car report.mario was my salesman,dale is the head mechanic!all the people there are rude&incompetent!gave me a 99 malibu for a loaner.got it home&the loaner wouldn't start.they had to tow it.they broke my grill on the car&never fixed it!they never fixed anything!my car was there at least 5-6 times,2-3 days each.numerous issues with the car!never fixed.to top it off they wouldn't give my friend the referral fee because we had different salesman!they claim to have a a+rating with the bbb.they are not even an accredited business by the bbb.yes people,all businesses are not accredited by the bbb.they have to register.i would never refer this place.go to a a-lot! read more

Website states you need to contact dealer for price. I emailed them on 2 vehicles I was potentially interested in and asked for price. I received a general email back telling me that is too difficult to cover all of the cars features over the phone, come in for a test drive. I replied that I was over an hour away and the asking price would determine if it is worth me making the trip, again please provide price like the website states "email for pricing". Never received a response. I am a cash buyer and have been researching exactly what I want for 2 months. I just wanted to know the price. Nothing... I then find the cost of the cars i was interested in posted on the cars.com website with the cost. So just so I understand this correctly, you can't give a potential customer the cost of vehicles they are inquiring about, but you can post the cost on a public website intended to sell cars??? Whatever, based on what I have read through others reviews these guys seem like a joke. I'd stay away. read more

If there was a NO STAR I would leave a no star. Up until today, I have never left a negative review in my life. After being in contact with someone online I was told I need to call to find out how much a vehicle was , which ended up being extremely over priced. After waiting days to fin out the price , I was then told I could not have the vehicle information to look up any information on the vehicle. This dealership is located on 8mile road, I live in Macomb Township, the RUDE lady on the phone would not supply me with the vin number commenting I may be someone stealing the car info. First of all, the vin number is on the windshield, what would be the difference of me looking at the number on the windshield or her giving it to me over the phone? Other than the mileage for me to drive down there, and the poor costumer service. Maybe she was having a bad day but I have never dealt with such a rude dealership in my life. I purchased a Volkswagen CC from Champs Auto. Lewis Jones was my sales person which he was great. However the place is shady. They said I gave them $500.00 down on the car which I never gave them a dime out of pocket. They told me that I had to speak to the financial company in their present only. They wrote on a piece of paper everything I was to say to CPS financial when I spoke with them. Five months after having my car I called them because all my lights came on my dashboard. They were very rude and told me they not looking at my car because I took the car to Volkswagen to diagnose it. Karen the manager was very rude told me not to come back that I have had the car for 5 months and it is expected to pay 3,270.78 worth of repairs on a used car. I wasn't asking them to fix the entire car. I just wanted them to fix the three issues that should have been repaired before they put that car out for purchasing. The shocks are so bad on the car until they are leaking and the trans needed to be serviced. The care rear sensor wheel bearing is bad. And much much more !!!!!Now why would you sale a car knowing that this car need all of these thing done to it? They could have asked me to bring the car in and allow them to look at, but NO they want to tell me what they not going to do and say you got it now is your problem. Please I ask you NOT TO PURCHASE ANYTHING from them at ALL. After you get the car they going to treat you like your nothing or no one. I am calling CPS financial because I am not making another payment on this car so Maybe they can stop financing cars for them.
