I was happy to see that the bar was remodeled and updated with new TVs and decor. The inside of the bar is very well-litted and got great views of all the televisions. The overall menu is a little rough not a lot of options. I would have liked to have seen more options for appetizers being in a bar setting. The service was slow and poor and the food was not much better. I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and bacon cheeseburger with fries for dinner. The onion rings came out pretty quick but they were burnt and not so much onion rings as a onion block ( see photos). It took almost an hour to get my bacon cheeseburger which was lacking in bacon and flavor. which what little piece of bacon was on there seem to be undercooked. On the plus side the owner comp my cheeseburger for taking so long and apologized for the slow service. I understand it was there first night opening and they're working on the bugs. They are going to need a lot more training to bring up the level of this bar. The one thing I noticed is one of the owners was running around helping cleaning and trying to make stuff right and the other owner seemed to just be hang out with his friends drinking and having a good time. He did not seem to be concerned with the lack of service dirty tables or trying to help the situation. I feel like this bar could have a really good outcome if they can improve some of these things. I will definitely be going back in a couple of months to see if improvements have been made. This should give them plenty of time to try to work out all the kinks that they had on their opening night.

After spending the day…read moreexploring Tanganyika Wildlife Park, we wanted a relaxing dinner within walking distance of our hotel, and this locally owned restaurant was exactly what we were hoping to find. The first surprise was the size of the restaurant. From the street, it looks fairly modest, but once inside, it opens into a beautiful historic warehouse with exposed brick, an industrial feel, and a lively atmosphere. I also loved discovering the large outdoor patio tucked away behind the building--it would be a fantastic place to enjoy live music on a future visit. We ordered the baby back ribs, which had just been introduced to the menu that evening, and they were incredible. The meat was tender enough to fall right off the bone, the baked beans had just the right amount of spice, and the fries rounded out a great comfort meal. I also enjoyed trying a local cider on tap, and we couldn't resist finishing with the Key Lime Pie Crème Brûlée, which was absolutely delicious. What really stood out was how relaxed the experience felt. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a full day of adventure. If you're visiting Wichita, especially if you're staying in Historic Old Town, I highly recommend adding Public at the Brickyard to your itinerary. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a wonderful example of supporting local Kansas producers make this a restaurant I'll gladly return to on my next visit.

Dockum has both great cocktails, and great entertainment. I really like the atmosphere here every single time. It's dim, it's romantic, it's lively. Our waitress every time has been the same girl and she's fabulous and attentive. Her name is Elvia, shoutout to her! We have our favorite drinks here, but always try something new each time. Never had a bad drink here. Our favorites are: The Last Word, Dizzy Dame, Cinder and Smoke. You can't go wrong with anything you order honestly. We could sit here for a few hours. It's also a speakeasy. It's under ground, you have to knock to get in. Overall it's just a cool vibe for something downtown in Wichita. It is my favorite spot to go. If you are in town visiting or a local, I recommend this place 1000%.

When our waitress came by, we told her it was our first visit and that we needed a little time with the menu. We ordered drinks, but they came out at odd times--two arrived quickly, while the other two took noticeably longer. My husband ordered a Bijou, which is a unique cocktail, and it seemed to take a while for the bar to figure out how to make it. Still, the drinks were good once they arrived. For food, we tried the burnt ends and the JoJos. The JoJos were excellent--crispy and flavorful--but the burnt ends were disappointing, served a bit cold and lacking in flavor. Things really unraveled with our second round of drinks. Service slowed to a crawl, and we eventually learned that our waitress had been sent home by the manager even though the bar was packed on a Friday night. A young server, only two weeks into the job, was left to take over, and unfortunately, he had no idea what he was doing. Another waitress stopped by to help but admitted she usually works upstairs in the restaurant and didn't know the cocktail menu either. The shift in service quality from the first round of drinks to the second was very jarring. There was live music, but the sound system wasn't great, so it didn't add much to the atmosphere. We did order desserts from the upstairs restaurant, which were a nice finish, but by the end of the night it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. As we left, we even saw the manager outside looking exhausted, which made us feel bad for the whole team. Overall, while the drinks were solid and the JoJos worth trying, the experience was inconsistent and stressful. Maybe we just got caught up in an off night of drama, but I wouldn't recommend Dockum for more than one drink.

Tucked on the periphery of the Wichita State University campus, nestled among frat houses and dilapidated dorms (does anyone even live in Brennan Hall anymore? Is that even a thing?), Field House has been a stalwart since my days as an overly ambitious coed with an ego as unending as the construction on Kellogg. With beer options as varied as Miller Light, as craft as ShockTop, and liquor options that stop just short of Fernet, the Field House isn't for city slickers with perfectly coiffed cowlicks hoping to sample artisan cocktails, and imbibe in sipping tequila. It is however, the perfect spot for those of us in our late 20s and early 30s who never forgot the power of a $5 you-call-it, and the allure of a bartender whom we grew up with, and had a crush on 15 years ago. If you're looking for an economical way to lap away your sorrows and meet a stranger that you'd met once before at the SigEp house a decade or so ago, Field House will deliver. But unlike the days of my reckless youth, I am now old enough to sip my Frio with class, and only occasionally take over the Touch Tunes juke box to put Saves the Day, Panic! At the Disco, and Alkaline Trio on blast. I am also young enough to get straight up drunk on Rumple Minze, eat a bag of cheese Doritos, and toss darts errantly at a dart board or a wall, whichever happens to appear closer at the time.

Their service was actually outstanding as I was originally going to order a regular Cherry Coke until I saw that they've had Coca Cola Zero so I went ahead and ordered a cherry coke zero instead. Their inside of the restaurant is amazing as it's actually a wonderful looking sports bar as this restaurant is dedicated to sports. Their food is also amazing despite being out of their cheesecake egg rolls which I definitely wanted to try, so I went to order their fried pickles for dessert, their onion rings are much better than the onion rings served at The Anchor (Which is long gone due to not paying their rents) and their chicken strips and fries don't disappoint as well, however I was kinda disappointed when they got rid of their grilled cheese which was actually my favourite part of going there which definitely could have gave the restaurant 5 stars. Also, it isn't kid friendly at all as I went to use the bathroom as the bathroom door is carved with loads of profanity and racial slurs (I didn't take a picture of it due to the fact that if I actually did, Yelp would probably take the review down). But aside from the mistakes it made, this is a fine restaurant for what it is, I would have gave them five stars if they would fix the mistakes it did though.

We got there an hour early to save seats and order food ahead of time, we didn't even see a waitress until we had been sitting there for 20 minutes. We ordered a soft serve marg, didn't get it for 25 minutes. We ordered chips and salsa, waited probably close to 40 minutes for that. Once 8:00 hits, love island had not started on the two TVs that we always watch love island on when they have the Monday watch parties. It is a blank screen, but the other TVs around are playing the show. We were trying to talk to our waitress about it, but she was no where in sight. It wasn't until 8:22 that they finally started playing the show on our TVs, we asked if they would be willing to start the show over since it was 20 minutes in already and they refused saying that then they would have to restart it on all of the TVs. I think that most of the watchers there would have preferred that since they didn't even get to hear the first 20 minutes. We decided to leave and just watch it at home, I asked to close my tab two different times and when she finally got around to it she didn't even give me the discounts promised. It is advertised that we get half off our drinks and $7 appetizers. My total should have been $12, I was charged $18 with no discounts. I would have argued over the price if our waitress could have heard over the karaoke. We were there for an hour and a half, for a show we didn't even get to watch and bad service. I will also add that the whole time we are there they have karaoke going on, which didn't bother us any until 8:00 rolled around and they were playing the karaoke over the show.
