I came here with friends for a fun Friday sip and skate event. It cost $12 to get in and as you come into the venue you go through a metal detector. Which is where I give them 3 Star less for it. The detector doesn't work! I went in with my metal keys in my hands and nothing beeped. That made me concerned for my safety, because if it's not working and someone crazy comes in with a gun, it could be another shooting statistic. PLEASE FIX YOUR METAL DETECTOR! The place is pretty big but basic, nothing screams excitement there besides the music. They only offer beer and wine options and deep fried foods. This place could be a big hit if they'd upgrade it some (think Malibu jacks for adults) The skates you rent are kinda gross, you can tell they'd never been replaced since they opened. I noticed a lot of people brought their own (that is a good idea!) Overall I had a lot of fun with my friends here, but it made us leery to come back, someone was smoking a cigarette in the skating ring because it smelled like it at one point. Maybe getting more than 1 employee in the ring to monitor things would be a great idea not only for safety but to watch for that kind of shady stuff that goes on. read more

Meh. Dirty, dark, and a D level putt-putt course I could have made at home. Half the games were out of order and it just felt old. Rink is ok and has an employee keeping watch; I'm sure the laser-tag is ok if I rolled that way. If I'm forced to actually spend time with my family I'd rather go to Malibu Jacks. read more

This visit was MUCH more enjoyable than the last! The thing that impressed me the most was that even though it wasn't nearly as crowded as last time, two employees were making laps around the skating rink the entire time. As soon as someone fell, they quickly checked on them & helped them up so no one else fell. I especially want to brag on the female skater (I wish I got her name!). My nephew was struggling & she kept checking on him, encouraging him, giving him pointers & even took time to check his skates, tighten them & make sure the fit wasn't the problem. If not for her, he would have given up in frustration. Instead, he left feeling like he had a good time & had improved. She's the biggest reason for the 5 star rating. Employees like her are what makes a business great! As we walked in, there was a very friendly employee at the front booth, so we didn't have to wonder around inside trying to find which desk to go to like last time. The special they were running made for a very fun & affordable night out. The skate rental employees weren't very friendly, but weren't rude either...just okay. A few people were drinking, but not to excess, so no problems there. The employee at the food booth greeted everyone with a smile & was friendly. The DJ worked hard to change things up and keep it fun. We had a great time and will return on a regular basis. read more

We booked a party for my daughter this weekend at Champs in Lexington, Ky and I wanted to brag on your staff. The whole crew was fantastic and really went out of their way for us but I would like to brag on one lady in particular. Stormy treated my daughter like royalty! This was an amazing mile stone birthday for her because of how great Stormy is! There parties are a joke, late getting into a room, no helo from staff. Never again will I have a birthday party there.

A couple of months ago I booked the Roll n Glow roller skating party for my daughter's 9th birthday. Under the package information it states, "A minimum of 8 guests & a maximum of 20." It's says additional guests are $27.55 each. So to me & several who read over this party package, it means that if you have to get 20 guests you'll be charged the $27.55 per person. Well this was not the case for us. We were charged $27.55 per person after 8 guests. I was not prepared for this because it says you can have a maximum of 20 guests. In addition, you're only given a party room for 55 minutes. I was aware of this but it definitely isn't enough time to set up, get pizzas ordered, let the children eat, get their skates, do cake, etc. Initially we were told we could keep the room longer because there were no parties after us, but then we were told we had to move anyway. We were also told that in the new area we couldn't keep the pitchers of drinks we paid for, not even water. After talking with the manager we were allowed to keep the water. This whole experience was awful & stressful & cost me almost $500 because their package description is misleading. read more

I haven't been roller skating here since I was in middle school and it was off palumbo, though it seems like the same teenage music gimmick is still going strong. I come here for one thing, to wage war with lasers against all those who suppose me. I will crush all those who stand in my way! I choose the yellow team because they are the least chosen which gives me a target rich environment. I choose Darius as my name for obvious reasons to those who know game of thrones. The impression: if you want to lose to me come there every other weekend and find the guy on the yellow team with the highest overall score who just schooled you in laser tag! read more

First of all, let me say that I was on a field trip with 160 7th Graders. Do you all know how hard it is to find a place where 160 kids can go and everybody have fun? It's very difficult! I called champs about 2 months ago. I hadn't ever been in there before and didn't know what to expect. Nick was so helpful in getting everything set up for the kids to attend. There's plenty of parking so the busses had an easy time loading and unloading. Champs offers a STEM field trip package, the kids have a lesson, then they get to play laser tag/mini golf/ and skating. There's also an arcade. The kids stays happy for the entire duration. The field trip also included Pizza or a hot dog with a drink. The pizza was really good! The kids left happy saying how they want to come back soon with their families. The hospitality that was offered to us couldn't be beat. Thank you so much, Champs, for making sure we were taking care of and for all of your accommodations. We will be back! read more

This place is a JOKE!!!!!! Came here on a Saturday, walked in and the girls "working" here were too busy chatting to instruct us on where to go to pay to do any activities. As we had never been here before, it would have been helpful. As there were also no employees outside either! Signs inside list packages available to purchase however none of them have any prices so self service is not an option. Skating apparently was $12.50 a person and the "rink" is a the smallest I have ever saw. Employees walking around everywhere and plates of food all over tables left from other guests was very unattractive. If it had been busy it would have been understandable. FOOD... don't even bother!! It took my son 13 minutes to get his drink alone and 45 minutes for chili cheese fries.. I believe this building needs new owners to properly run it. HORRIBLE and will not be back!! read more

I purchased 9 tickets for $20 each for two adults and 7 kids. I did not receive a notice stating hats are NOT permitted if if you plan to skate. We arrived and I purchased from the window 9 skate rentals that isn't included in the $20 band and NOTHING was said to me. We walked in and waited in line for skates and I'm talking to the employee for all the kids and pick up skates and again NOTHING was said to me about wearing a hat and roller skating. I get to the floor with three kids who has never skated and go around one time and someone comes up and ask me to remove my hat!! I'm a lady not a man, if I have a hat on it's because my hair is a mess but had the information been given, I could have planned accordingly. I speak with the manager and ask for a waiver and he said they don't have one, I ask for, four skate rentals money back and he said if I give you a refund you will leave the building!! Me; excuse me, I paid $20 and it's for skating, laser and golf. I also purchased 9/$20 arcade cards!! He said, I could walk on the skating floor in my shoes. I ended up buying pizza for the kids and drinks, and we went upstairs to play laser tag and golf, extremely hot!! Laser tag was fun but way too hot to play two games back to back! The golf area had loud commercials on the entire time we played golf and also very hot! Needless to say, it was a disappointment and it will be a long time before I go and spend over $400 at Champs again. read more

I have visited many roller rinks across the country and Nick and Tina have the best rink ANYWHERE! The owners were available and very friendly. Strict attention to safety - Nick watches closely from the elevated DJ stand and kindly asks folks to slow down when they are not being safe and the guards are brightly and professionally dressed and ALWAYS on the floor to assist. Hours were accurate and the facility is sparkling clean and very well maintained. Best part of all - their skate floor is GLEAMING - so smooth and wonderful to skate here! What a gem! Family friendly. Always has been. I can't comment on the golf, laser tag, birthday and other things offered. (The food I have had has always been VERY good and others say nothing but good things.) As for the facility and skating it is very clean and well run. Guards and personnel make safety a high priority. Bring the kids and know they are being monitored closely. If you want better music, and a better skating experience, GO. TO. FLORENCE. In florence, they have "Castle Skateland," and "The Florence Fundome," which are waaaay better. This place will not allow people with a medical condition, that's discrimination based upon their own policies which state you must wear a mask unless you have special needs. I was told I would not be allowed without a mask. Also, cutting out the pizza and drinks and raising the prices, you'll never get another dime from me and you'll get nothing but bad word of mouth from me. 30+ years of going to Champ's ruined in an instant. Due to the poor planning by Nick, my 60th Birthday Party became problematic for his staff in his absence. They all thought it was OK to set my party up as if I was a 6 year old. This was not my first time having my birthday here as an adult, but this was my first time experiencing such disregard. It's definitely an entertainment complex with plenty to do and we always have a blast coming here but I almost try to avoid coming here and spending my hard earned money because the owner is just (for lack of better words I could use) not a very nice person at all. Where to start! We waited way to late to book a party because of our hectic life so we gave our daughter a list of places to go hang out and have fun for her Bday and she chose Champs because she had never been there and only seen her sister dropped off there. Anywho...we had 18 people in our party and everyone paid $9.50 to get in to skate but when the cake was coming in the door we were told unless we booked a $300 party that we couldn't bring in our cake. Ok....then we were told that we had to remove all the Bday presents...um ok. I wasn't very happy with that response so when I went to ask why, the girl rudely interrupted me to get the attention of the owner to come over and tell us the same thing. The only difference was that he was a HUGE DICK about it. He even told the girl to refund us our money and to "get them out the door". OMG. I don't know why I was surprised. I worked at Champs on Palumbo when I was 14 and he was a HUGE ASS then too. I think he's one of these people who has way to much money and thinks that he's Gods gift to Earth and is untouchable and stoppable. Seriously. I wanted to leave but my daughter is 6 and she doesn't want to leave because she's already having fun at this new to her place. So we decide to stay for her but I was so angry about the owner and the situation that I literally cried on the curb outside because I wanted to punch him in his face and couldn't legally. This place sucks. They treat their customers like complete poo. I wouldn't give his place another penny of my money and my party of 18 have agreed not to anymore on top of the fact that they are way overpriced anyways. Guess what? There is another skating rink closer to us and there is another put put golf place in town that we could get better guest service at. Today was HELL. read more

Kids got bumped from playing laser tag nearly an hour due to a birthday party. We showed up at 3:30 got to play one game and then had to wait for two games for a birthday party to play before us. This place was overrun with people on a Saturday, no parking outside, food left on tables from prior parties. We drove about an hour to come here. Owner was friendly and offered to give kids some tokens to play games until they could go back to laser tag. The kids really enjoyed laser tag even due to issues we had. Champs manager was extremely uncooperative. As I walked to the window to see the young girl was unprofessional, she was woke up at the window by me saying hello. We came in with gifts and a birthday cake, we paid for the skating but was not allow to have the cake or gifts in the facility. Asked, why and you have to pay for a birthday package to celebrate it. I don't understand, if your paying and not using a room,or any of their things, why it matters. Instead the manager was explained that there wasn't a place in Lexington that allowed but when I told him that gattitown he had nothing to say. This is an awful place. It is all about the $$$$. It's run down, smells like pee. If anyone says anything even slightly negative on Facebook or any social media the owners go after them. Pretty much like screw you, you don't like it don't come back. Beware don't go. Gattitown is great, Get Air has friendly people. So many places popping up it won't be long their kiss my a$$ attitude towards customers won't fly much longer. The prices for birthday parties are way higher than anywhere else and you don't get as much as you do at other places. Seriously, go somewhere else. An average night for 1 kid is at least $50. This place was ok. I attended during a thursday night for their special which includes unlimited lasertag, pizza, AND minigolf for 20 bucks. I can imagine if you don't use this deal it would start costing lots of money in a little time. Pizza was the first thing I tried and it was what you'd expect 'all you can eat' pizza to taste like. But it was still kinda decent because it's pizza and you could eat as much as you want. Lasertag was a blast. But sometimes they would pack the room with as many people as they could, which meant you would pretty much get shot every 5 seconds and couldn't really enjoy the game. Minigolf was OK. Take the fun and adventure of golf, and shrink the size, along with the fun.. Then add tiki heads and LSD lights and you have their minigolf course. But as the locker room themed 'Boys' and 'Girls' bathrooms show, this is a place made for children and kids are freaking bonkers here. Took my girlfriend and her younger brother to Champs yesterday. The experience was terrible. I've had birthday parties for two of my children there in the past and the experience was nothing like this for them. First thing I noticed was the huge TV made of six hdtv's and the giant leather couch for parents to watch while the kids played. Pretty cool,but that should've been a sign of where the priorities of the business are. I'm sure the miniature golf is okay....it's hard to mess that up. The laser tag seems to be the same and the kids enjoyed it. My main concern was the game floor. Skee ball is a classic,but when 2 of the 8 games work...its a problem. There were several games that weren't even turned on. Some were on but didn't accept the tokens,hell one took two tokens on from me but didn't start the game. I put in two on the right side coin slot and it did work. We were going to roller skate as well,UNTIL, the locker took the money and wouldn't release the key. Once that happened she was so pissed she went and got a refund and we went to Malibu Jacks. I will never recommend Champs to anyone ever again. By the way your elevator smells like an old dirty feet. Basically, I just paid admission, skate rental and bought tokens for 10 kids. I had planned to buy pizza and drinks for all the kids as well. They wouldn't let me bring in cupcakes. Fine. Not happy but I'll deal. Then... they refused to let the guests bring in gifts for My child. All because I didn't rent a party room. I went up to the "door man" and asked him about it. He became argumentative. I asked to speak to the manager. The door man continued to argue. I just kept saying, "please get the manager". After about the 5th time, I used my teacher voice. Yep. He became irate and told me he would kick me out. Still hadn't gotten the manager. He finally did. The manager finally came but it was Obvious that the man had told him I was belligerent. The manager would not bend his policy to allow children to bring a gift in. If all the kids had been there, I would have taken them somewhere else. He then talked down to me because I had presented passes. Now mind you, I got bought the passes at a school fund-raiser. I didn't want to ruin My child's birthday party so, I paid an additional $100 for kids to be in the party room for about 35 minutes to eat pizza and get a birthday girl T-shirt. The host did bring in the food, I served it all and then she cleaned it up. I am ok with the fact that I ended up paying more. My problem is the employee. The door man was a jerk, he could have just went and got the manager to start with. The manager approached me with an obvious attitude. Look, I work with lots of people... I worked retail. If you are management, You don't approach an upset person with an attitude to start with. While I was paying and the manager was figuring up how much I owed, the doorman was refusing to let one of my guests in because she had a present. I had to ask him 3 times to let them in because I was taking care of it. Seriously? Then after I paid extra, he had his security come and literally stand behind my group. Come on, I was not loud, did not cause a scene nor did we act like fools! Later in the night after I gave the kids the tokens, only the ski ball machines were giving out tickets. My son's 8th birthday party was at Champs. I have to say that the service was less than prepared despite my pre-purchasing of a package and arriving early. Long waits for refills on soda, good luck getting enough cups, and don't expect a smile out of the Champs party host. All in all, very expensive and I could get more from somewhere else.
