We were trying very hard to be ready for the home to go on the real estate market in March. Neighborhood keep us abreast of the weather/schedule and came and did the job as soon as the weather allowed. They kept both the integrity of the roof and the need to meet a time deadline in mind and really helped us out. We are homeowners not roofing professionals, it was nice to know that they've been in Ann Arbor for so long, to know that they are well thought of in the community. We were able to trust them in their pricier advice. And for the scope of the work I feel the price was fair. A roof costs money, doing a roof the right way costs money but at least I know we paid a fair price for a job well done. They offer a long warranty and it's for the roof not for the owner so it transfers to new owners easily. And we know from conversations with multiple real estate agents that the warranty is solid! They were also happy to coordinate with our painter so he could do some painting work along side and in conjunction. Found them…read moreon the Better Business Bureau's web site and could not be happier with our experience with Dominic, Mario, the mason, and the whole Roof Advance team. Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. They even gave us a senior discount, which we were not expecting. Their requested deposit wasn't a lot of money. They have an easy way to pay by e-check, or by credit card online. I used Billy White Roofing for installation of a new roof on my home. I was extremely extremely…read moredisappointed. I am not a roofer, but within a week of the work being completed, I went up on my roof to review/inspect their work more closely. I identified ~ 10 - 15 exposed/low nails, and other issues. I asked them to send someone back out to look at it. He ended up identifying 11 different and fairly major issues that needed to be addressed in addition to the low nails (issues with rake edges, disappearing beauty row, missing/improperly installed flashing, vents that were not nailed down/caulked, etc.). The two workers that came out to inspect and repair the roof were great (Curtis and Ben), but there is no reason a brand new roof should have so many issues (two workers were here for an entire day stripping and fixing portions of the roof). In one of the areas where the flashing/shingles were improperly installed (see photo) there was already standing water observed beneath the flashing/shingles. The issues have supposedly been "fixed" (although the shingle lines and ridge vents are still not straight and look terrible up-close), but again, absolutely no reason for a new roof to have issues in the first place. They also did not follow minor requests (e.g., I asked them to not park their heavy trailers on my new concrete driveway across the street and to not park on the neighbors lawn - and they did both). They were supposed to repair my roof on a Monday - although it did rain in the morning, they never showed and never called. I had to follow-up multiple times to get an update and they didn't come back out until that Friday. No discount, extended warranty, etc. was given.

Their "designer" basically knew how to order the cabinets, and manipulate the layout program, but did not help with ACUTAL design at all, so be careful there! In fact, the dimensions were off - we would have ended up with a 2 foot wide kitchen table and a gigantic kitchen island if we hadn't pushed back. Their carpenter is awesome. He listened and even came to us with questions and built us a beautiful bench. Their tiler did a good job on kitchen and bathroom tiles. We did not like our project manager. He did not listen to our requests and subsequently things were not done correctly and had to be redone (along with arguments about payment for redo). They never came back to acid wash bricks, which they said they would do. Repeated requests have gone ignored. Our mistake for paying bill in full before it was finished.
