Cute little cafe with some nice coffee selections. It's on a busy one way street, so parking may be difficult. Their pastries were pretty tasty and they had some really cute choices like a bacon cheddar scone. Very flavorful, large, and wasn't dry at all. Their coffee was also good. My only downfall was that nothing we got was hot. It wasn't cold, but leaned more towards warm than anything else. On a cold windy day like today, I could've really appreciated a hotter beverage. I was also surprised to not see any sort of donut out considering the name of the shop. Wish there was. Otherwise, it was an adorable place, the workers were friendly and attentive, and it was worth stopping in. read more

I think I could be classified as a coffee snob. I've visited every legit coffee roaster in Boston, Cambridge all of northern MA and New Hampshire. I've visited the Boston downtown crossing and Harvard Square George Howell locations and was excited to read that there was a coffee shop in Newburyport that used George Howell beans. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. I had to go back the next day, and barista knows what he's doing. They get bonus points because they have great pastries too. I've tried all the other coffee shops in Newburyport and this one sails to the top as number one for me. It saves me a trip into Boston or Cambridge. They also have a window outside that you can order at or go into the cafe. Great place. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend. read more

Stopped in on my drive back to Boston and WOW! I was not expecting to love this place as much as I did. I got an iced caramel latte and it's seriously the best coffee i've ever had. I wanted a sweet treat so I asked the cashier which donut she recommended and I left with two. Both were amazing- chocolate donuts of sorts. I wish this was in Boston because I'd go every day. Small shop with friendly curbside ordering and pickup during Covid times. Donuts were good though short of elite. Coffee was very good. Service was excellent. Honey Dipped: Glistening exterior, slightly stiff interior. Chocolate honey dipped: Similar to the honey dipped, but with more give and subtle chocolatey flavor. Coconut: The one I least wanted to order was the one that was the brightest star that morning. Two kinds of coconut, densely pa led on the surface, and a soft, fresh interior with ginger notes. A nice neighborhood cafe in Newburyport with friendly workers. I came midmorning during the week and got a few donuts including oreo, strawberry chocolate, lemon filled, and a cinnamon roll. The donuts were really good, soft, pillowy, and good flavors. The lemon filling wasn't too tart, but was still lemony. Tons of oreo toppings made it a great ratio for donut to frosting/topping. On the other hand, the cinnamon roll still had that soft brioche, but was lacking a lot of cinnamon sugar to it. It's like the middle had everything and the sides poofed up with nothing. Overall, a great place to visit and I'd recommend checking this place out. read more

Stopped by here on our way home to pick up some donuts, one of the few things I love to try where ever we travel. They have online ordering, which you can head inside to pick up otherwise orders are curbside outside of their window. While waiting for our donuts, we noticed there were a lot of locals come by and familiar with the staff which I believe is always a good sign. We got a half dozen donuts, including apple cinnamon, glazed, chocolate glazed, and blueberry which were all cake donuts. How can you not like donuts or cake? The cinnamon roll was still pretty good the next day, I just wish we had warmed it up like she recommended. Their chocolate frosted was actually really delicious, a donut I don't typically prefer. Their donut dough was so light and fluffy and then frosted with rich chocolate. It was surprisingly my favorite. I wish they hadn't run out of their boston creme, which goes early I hear, so make your way down bright and early! As for my iced caramel latte, it was a bit too milky for my liking. If there were less milk, or more espresso, my latte would have been perfect. read more

Coffee is pretty good. Service is not great after you order. I have visited this cafe three times in the last 6 months, each time I am in the area I look forward to it. Not sure if it's my persona or what but all 3 times I've ordered, my drink has either gotten forgotten about miraculously or sat on the counter without anyone acknowledging or announcing who's drink it is. I stumped upon Changing Tides when looking through Downtown Newburyport and it was well worth my time. There is not much to say about it-- they provide delicious and tasty handcrafted donuts as well as good coffee. The only downside was that the two chocolate glazed donuts were pretty stale and old, but that's expected from a small shop past 11 am. I'm a fan of this spot and recommend it to anyone looking for a dozen delicious pastries. read more

My husband and I stopped in today (Saturday) for the first time. We really enjoyed it. There were a steady stream of customers so we thought it must good since it seemed like a popular spot. We had breakfast sandwiches which were cooked to perfection. The coffee was really great as well. So many flavor selections! The staff seemed like they helped each other out to keep the steady crowd moving through and they had a good handle on all stations. They were polite and accommodating to their customers too. I just needed something near my hotel at the Inn at ring Island and I saw changing tides they had specially coffees so I went there. There were two customers in front of me three employees working and it took 22 minutes to get a vanilla latte and they gave it to me it was iced I never ordered an iced latte I don't like iced coffee drinks but I took it anyhow and I'm leaving to go back to North Carolina today so I'll never be back and I would go back to Angie's or someplace else in town This was a mistake and they were employees seem like they're half asleep. We've done online ordering a few times now and it's super quick and easy. The breakfast sandwich is amazing - just tried it on the cheese bread and man, that was good. The avocado toast was a bit salty, so not sure if we'd get that again. Everything seems fresh though and I appreciate that! The coffee is as expected. We haven't sat outside there or eaten in, but it does seem like a cute place with nice outdoor seating. I'll definitely be trying a donut and latte next time! read more

We stopped in for a coffee and and açaí bowl. The coffees were really good and each one was made perfectly. The açaí bowl had freshly toasted coconut and giant blueberries. The only warning I will give was four coffees and a açaí bowl cost us forty dollars, so do not expect it to be a cheap morning coffee break read more

Did a long bike ride and really wanted an iced coffee drink. Found this place nearby (parking was a breeze) and was able to quickly order an iced latte with oak milk using their outdoor window. It tasted great and was reasonably priced given the oat milk. read more

This place is so cute and I LOVE that they offer a vegan banana bread and alternative milks.
