I'm from Chicago so it's hard finding that style of Chinese food . I got the egg foo young and it gave me a piece of HOME. I was so happy . The eggs rolls were 7/10 , egg foo young 8.5/10 the rice 6/10 . Service : To be honest it was disappointing. I hate when somebody put my money on counter after I handed it to you . It's a sign of disrespect. We said have a good day bye , no response . We had separate orders but they put ours together so we had to go back and ask to separate . The AMBIANCE was cool . The attitude after the money situation was again shocking . OVERALL: the 3 stars is because of the rude front desk not wanting to put my money in my hand . THE FOOD WAS GOOD !! ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO GO !!

Good lunch Specials. L20 is my favorite

My Favorite Chinese place. Always good, hot and fast. Great prices and huge portions.

Side of fried rice with curry beef and a piece of metal

Metal in the rice. Wonton soup tastes wrong Orange beef pieces are too big and too tough to eat without a knife and the sauce is watery

    Sweet and Sour combo

I was amazed by how great the food here is, and how reasonable the prices are. A win win for sure. As I was perusing the menu someone was seated right next to us and ordered right as he sat down. So obviously a repeat customer and I followed his lead and ordered similarly. I had the pork in garlic sauce extra spicy, and my girl had the lomein. Both were excellent. Also the complementary wontons before the meal was a nice touch. I have to say it was a great experience with great food at a good price. Like the said win win!

Worst Chinese food ever. Don't even dare to order Kung pap and Tso's chicken. The fried rice is dry and worst.

Time to Order: 20-45 minutes? We were in a group so maybe that's not accurate, but we also ordered a lot. Roti Canai (5/5): One of the best roti Canai I've ever had. The curry is thick with potato and super tender chicken and the roti canai bread is chewy but somehow still flaky and flavorful at the same time. It was so good that I ordered another one for myself to go to let my partner try it at home. Malaysian Chicken Satay (5/5): You will read "tender chicken" in my review several times. It's not a joke. The chicken nearly melts in your mouth. The last time I had meat this tender it was a filet mignon that was 6x the price of this dish. Char Kuey Tow (4.5/5) and Mee Goreng (4.5/5): Yeah we got both the flat noodle and the mee goreng. Because both are awesome. Noodles stayed chewy, beansprout and veggies were great, proteins were great. Not too saucy. Solid. Uncle Chen's Sizzling Tofu (4.5/5): We got this seafood style and it comes loaded with shrimp, calamari.. fantastic. Great by itself or on rice. The middle gets a little soggy if you let it sit too long, so chow down on this whole it's hot! Roasted Hainanese Chicken (4/5): Nothing against the dish itself, I just don't like all the bones. Yes, the chicken was beautifully tender. Chicken rice, also fantastic. Curry Chicken Puff (4.5/5): So this was way more filling than I expected. It's like an intense Asian empanada? Totally worth it. Comes out really hot. Lastly, we got a serenade from the man himself. Yes, he pulls out a mic and sings. It's his break from cooking during the dinner rush. So, you might indeed get dinner and a show! It's beautiful to see someone who enjoys what he's doing - and his voice is such that some people think it's a song over the intercom instead of live music, take that how you will :) TL;DR: Absolutely contends for Best in Katy. Yes, it lived up to the hype. Come and eat family style and you won't be disappointed!

Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. We can't wait to go back, and Tiger Noodle will happily be in regular rotation for our family! You can't go wrong!

The spicy green beans were only a bit spicy, and I liked the sliced garlic in the dish. The decor is attractive, it reminds of Cantonese restaurants in NYC. We ordered the fried squid(won't order again, no flavor and batter is very oily, like was fried in old oil), the green beans with grounded meat(good flavor but there's hardly much ground meat, it was more like a garnish), and finally the honey walnut shrimp(won't order that again either, for $25, there was 13 small shrimp and not very saucy). So in all, I did not love these dishes, they were just average tasting but the prices were high for such average to below average taste. There are other choices within walking distance for better tasting food that cost less. I have heard that they have good wonton noodle soup and congee so will try that next time before I write off this restaurant completely, but honestly, it's cheaper and those 3 dishes I ordered are cheaper and tastier at Tan Tan Wok.
