Terrible experience last night! Ordered about $40 worth of food and got HALF OF MY ORDER! So my friends and I are in town for a show, staying at a hotel, and order through door dash. (Side note: I would recommend any other food delivery service that is not door dash! They mess everything up) However, the full correct order was on the ticket, we had two meals, both which should come with fried rice, egg rolls, lo mien and soups... when we received the order though, there are NO SOUPS, NO RICE AND NO EGG ROLLS...and one of the orders was lemon chicken which came with NO SAUCE! So basically I paid full price for a MEAL and got a thin slice of dry fried chicken. So not only do I call the restaurant to figure out what has happened to my $40 order, but I am put on hold for about 5 minutes while I listen to a woman be rude to another ordering customer, and then hangs up on me. So I call back and by the time I let this place know what has happened, she says I am too far from them for them to deliver my PAID FOR ORDER, that I can either come get the order THAT THEY FORGOT, or they will refund me $6, which, by the way, doesn't even cover the soup and egg rolls! I can go on about how UNPROFESSIONAL the situation was handled and how rude the employee was on the phone call but I'd rather just end with a caution to people supporting this restaurant. We ordered the pepper steak, sesame chicken and chicken fried rice and we asked for everything to be extra spicy, which it was not. The steak was okay at best, the sesame chicken literally had no flavor, but the chicken fried rice was pretty good although there was a lack of chicken. I love Changs this place is a weekly routine for me and my family. it's so good and their fried wings are THE BEST as well as their house special fried rice and the house special noodles. The only thing is that once you order eat it, because if you leave it for the next day it will have a bad taste for some reason. But other than that Changs is the best. read more

i've lost count how of how much i have been here. my meemaw, dad, and i know one of the ladies that works there since she worked at hong kong cafe (about 6 years ago). she is very sweet and always says, "hello grandma, how are you". there is an older lady that works there, but she doesn't always seem happy to be there. when i go to Chang's i always get the shrimp with mixed vegetables, or sweet and sour shrimp. both are very good, but once or twice i have ordered the shrimp with mixed vegetables and the sauce has been watered down, or has a strange taste/color. my dad usually gets Mongolian beef (extra spicy) which he likes. my grandma and dad love their hot and sour soup, and my mom is a fan of their wonton soup and combination lo-mein. we can usually count on consistent quality of food and service, and that's important. the bathrooms and restaurant are very clean and it's decorated tastefully. i've never had any major problems here, and i'd definitely recommend this place over an asian food chain like panda express or possibly even pei wei. read more

Why is it so hard to find a decent Asian restaurant in Houston? When we moved to this city we had the pleasure of dining at the Phoenix restaurant in the mission bend area (the best asian food) we found so far and after they closed we have been on the hunt for someone to fill the void they left. After our 1st experience of dining at Chang's we thought OK not bad, but I think that after so many bad places we've been to this was the best of a long line of HORRIBLE eateries. We ordered delivery for dinner. We had beef curry, sesame chicken, and combo lo mein, and wonton soup. Curry was disgusting. We left it untouched (tasted a bit of the sauce with the tip of our tongues). Maybe it just wasn't our taste, but would not eat it even if I were starving. Sesame chicken didn't taste like sesame sauce, but it was edible. Not my favorite, wouldn't order again, but would eat with steamed rice if I were hungry. Combo lo mein was good ish. Made me feel a little yucky, but the meat (shrimp, chicken, and beef) tasted good. I would maybe order again if I were given the choice of this vs the curry or sesame chicken. I feel like it would've been delicious with sriracha hot sauce Wonton soup was also edible. Soup(liquid) was tasty, but the wontons were a little weird tasting. The food at Chang's has its good days and it's bad days. There are times when my order is made exactly how I like; but, more often than not, they make errors. I always say no onions but more than 50% of the times my food is prepared with onions. When this place originally opened up in Katy, they had excellent service, ample portions, and amazing food. but over the years, all three have deteriorated. The hostess at the front is not at all friendly and behaves as if she is doing you a favor by serving you. I'd like to let her and the rest of the staff know that we pay for the service, she doesn't do it for free. Being new to Houston, I am looking for a go-to Chinese foof restaurant- and I am happy to say Chang's seems to be the place! Outstanding food! Ordered takeout on recommendation from an upscale restaurant waitress at another establishment. We ordered the following: - Egg Drop Soup - thicker than most, very good - Fried Chicken Wings - breaded wings (usually like them unbreaded) but extremely tasty - Steamed Dumplings - great dumplings and the BEST dumpling sauce I've ever had. Even the kids wanted more of this! - Egg Rolls - perfect, tasty - Kid Menu Beef Skewers -kids loved them - General Tso's Chicken - different in that it was in a liquid sauce with some vegitables, instead of a coated thick sweet sauce. The quality of the chicken was fantastic- just a little bit different than I expected. - Shrimp Egg Foo Young - wife says it was "yummy" - note the sauce was a darker brown rather than the tan gravy color most places serve. We get take-out from there ALL the time! They are super-quick (10 min. max from calling in to picking up) & they have a great menu! Plus, the lunch portions are generous, and are served till 3pm! great food but bad service!!! the waiters are so mean..i have been there several times I took my kids a month ago, and my son orderd the kung pao no nuts, and when the waitress brought his plate it had nuts all over, and she said they it was too late the food was already cooked.....they need to get some training of how to listen to every customer..after i told them that my son is allergic to nuts they finaly changed it but by that time I lost my appetite its always something with the waiters ..today i was waiting 15 min before i got my beverage , and when we ordered we asked twice for hot sauce , we didn't get it till we were almost done:-(( .whats wrong with them?? after we payed my 3 yrs old neice fail down and was bleeding from her mouth and no body came to check or ask if she is ok will never go there again.. read more

Had the pleasure of meeting a friend for lunch here and I must say it way very good. The restaurant was small but clean and the decor was exquisite. Our waiter immediately took our order and the soup came out almost instantly. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I had the general tso's chicken with fried rice. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this place!!! I have only dined there once, but I order to-go from them all the time. The one time I dined in, the service was great. Very attentive and on top of their game. I always order their General Tso's Chicken and Moo-Shee Pork (pronounced moo-shoe). If you have never had it, I highly recommend trying it. It is a HUGE portion of bite size pork with spices and sauce. It is served with Chinese style tortillas and a thick "spread." You spread the "spread" on the tortilla, scoop the pork mixture on there and eat it like a taco. AMAZING!! The best part is - it feeds 3 people and there is still left overs for lunch the next day.
