I am so glad I hired Chantilly Cakes to do my wedding cake!! I had first heard about Chantilly Cakes from a friend. I went to this friend's wedding and I ended up having two slices of her cake because I couldn't believe how good it was! I am a huge icing connoisseur, I will literally eat fondant straight because I love icing that much! Lol So when I say that cake had the best buttercream icing I had ever had, I am not playing. I've tried it all and this was by far my favorite. So I contacted Chantilly Cakes, and wow, Desiree just outdid herself in kindness and professionalism. She ALWAYS responded to my phone calls and emails within 24-48 max, but most of the time unless she was busy with a wedding, it was within the same day. I scheduled a tasting with her and she was so accommodating and kind. We were able to try our top picks for flavors and fillings, and we decided on a chocolate and amaretto cake (holy moly this amaretto was like vanilla but even better! Highly recommend it if you're looking for a traditional "white" cake but want a more interesting flavor than vanilla!) and buttercream icing as our filling because it was too good not to have! We discussed my idea for a design and I was blown away by what she created. I was having a very classy beach wedding at Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club, so I wanted to incorporate some beachy elements without it looking too much like a birthday party cake. I decided on an all white cake with White Sea shells. The sea shells are all white chocolate and any designs are just piped buttercream. It was really important to me that there was no fondant on the cake because I know a lot of people hate it, and she was able to do this beautiful cake without it. She worked with us on measurements so I could have my dad make me a "dock" cake stand and it just turned out so beautifully. She delivered the cake on time and in one piece (this gets overlooked sometimes but this is the most important part - having someone who you can trust to deliver it on time and in one piece!) and I loved my cake so much, that I even ordered a mini cake from Desiree when I got back from the honeymoon since I was so busy dancing at the wedding that I didn't get my fill! I will forever go back to Desiree for any speciality cakes because she is beyond talented and I couldn't recommend her or Chantilly Cakes more!! Just a wonderful experience! Exactly the custom cake I was looking for, an extremely talented and thoughtful cake maker and excellent customer service. My brother was over from the UK to celebrate his 50th birthday. He is well on his way to getting his helicopter license. I wanted something really special in the way of a very specific 3D model of a helicopter. An R22 to be exact. This was the first time I had ever had a custom cake made and I read reviews online that pointed me towards Chantilly Cakes. I am SO glad I chose them. As a heli enthusiast myself, I knew exactly what I envisioned and Desiree was extremely attentive as I ran through mechanical details, craft proportions, photos, schematics, etc. I was expecting something pretty good but I tried to keep my expectations in check. Well, words really can't sum up how blown away we were with the cake! They replicated an R22. My brother was uncharacteristically stunned and speechless. It was perfect - down to minute details on the tail rotor. The main blades even spun! Absolutely extraordinary craftsmanship! The cake was so visually amazing it was difficult for us to cut into it. My brother got the honors and carefully carved one half of the cockpit to reveal the cake inside. Just beautiful. It gets even better: I had chosen layers of half chocolate and half amaretto - a recommendation from Desiree to have two types of cake, which I hadn't really considered. Boy, what a great recommendation! The cake was unbelievably moist and delicious. I'd always figured that the cake flavor would take second place to creating the 3D construction. I had no inkling that the cake would be that delicious! I figure that the price of the cake was maybe only 2x to 3x what a boring store bought cake with a little plastic helicopter on it would be. So well worth it! The cake was the unquestionable highlight of an already exciting birthday and we will be talking about it for many years to come. For special occasions, I'm definitely going back to Chantilly Cakes. PS. I also had a bit of a hard time finding their location, even with GPS. I had to call Desiree. I don't throw five stars very ofter but this place is great and here's why: I got a coupon for a FREE cake when I got the standard "welcome to the neighborhood" envelope. I called and placed my order, she gave me two cake, 1 filling and 1 frosting options for my FREE cake. I picked it up on Saturday morning after having to call for directions (the location is kinda janky) and ate a small piece. It was wonderful! The vanilla filling in the middler was phenominal. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon Chantilly Cakes and couldn't have been happier. Desiree was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her knowledge, personality, and taste test sold us on her services. She put together a beautiful and amazingly delicious cake that our guests raved about (chocolate and raspberry swirl with raspberry filling)! Our wedding cake turned out beautiful and tasted amazing! We got three tiers and each was a different cake and filling combo. Bottom tier was chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, middle was almond cake with raspberry filling, and top was almond cake with vanilla filling.
