I moved to Orange from NorCal and needed to find a new dentist for the first time in nearly 10 years. Not knowing exactly where to start, I found Dr. Lu from my insurance search engine and called his office to schedule an appointment. Upon arrival I was greeted by Dr. Luu and his hygienist Anh right away. My appointment was towards the end of the week and end of the day, so I'm sure they've been catering to patients all day, but they were still very accommodating, talkative, and really made an attempt to get to know me as a new patient. They took their time to examine my teeth for the first time and even gave me good recommendations that my previous dentist didn't tell me. It was only my first visit but I already felt like I've been a regular. Looks like I found my new dentist home! Would recommend for anyone looking for a family-friendly, warm, and genuine office who truly cares about the best wellbeing of your teeth! FYI - they have a second office in Riverside. I came to Dr. Luu because 5 of my friends who live in the area come to his office as well, which already was a good sign to me. Then I checked his Yelp and saw that he had excellent ratings. On arrival to his office the staff and dental hygienist were so sweet and personable. I didn't have to wait long at all to be seen (was called in shortly after I filled in the new patient form). I had cleaning and a filling performed. Dr. Luu was excellent, he was very transparent with my care and even allowed me to see the progress of the filling and removal of the cavity lesions with a small camera intermittently during the process (I had never had any dentist do this for me before). As soon as I felt discomfort he numbed me up really well. He gave me excellent advice on my oral health and was really patient and informative. Looking forward to continuing my care here! read more

Haven't been to the dentist in a few years and I knew it was time to be an adult and make that appointment. Checked my INN dentists, read Yelp reviews and also considered the driving distance. Dr. Luu's practice was considerably close and had stellar reviews so why not. Very easy new-patient check in process and I was seen within a reasonable time. Dental hygienist Anh and Dr. Luu were very easy to talk with and they made this much needed dental visit so pleasant. I absolutely adore their bedside manner, a huuuge plus since I've always had unpleasant dentists (hence lack of visits). Highly, highly recommend coming to Chapman Smiles since staff is knowledgeable/skilled, very delightful and professional, plus there's ample parking. Great place overall. read more

Its been a little over two years since I have been to the Dentist and I knew I needed a checkup. I went to Dr. Luu since it is so close to my house and they were able to book me in within a week! I didn't have any pain so I wasn't expecting anything major but when Dr. Luu checked my teeth it turns out I had a pretty big cavity and some bad tartar build-up. Both Dr. Luu and Ana were so kind and didn't lecture me or make me feel bad. They just recommended me to floss and walked me through the entire procedure to fill in my cavity and do a deep cleaning. I really appreciated how both Dr. Luu and Ana walked me through EVERYTHING they were doing and explained the rationale. Dr. Luu even let me see some pictures of my cavity and how it looked like once it was fixed. I usually don't like going to the dentist but this amazing team made it a great experience and I look forward to seeing them for every check-up I need. You know it was a 5+ star experience when you're asking how you can leave the business a raving review. It's the personal dilemma of this wonderfully efficient, cozy dentistry becoming a booming business and in huge demand after recommending all your friends, family, and Yelp neighborhood pals to go here for their dentist check ups. But these folks deserve all the great business they can get. Full disclosure, I hadn't been to the dentist in over 15 years and like many of the reviews before me, each year that went by only compounded the anxiety of going to only hear how irresponsible I was for not making it a priority. And yes, I even had dental insurance for most of those years, OMG I was a fool. After going to see hygienist Ahn and Dr. Luu, all of that anxiety melted away. In fact, despite the severely needed deep cleaning visits, I actually looked forward to going and facing the dental chair and it was 100% because of the team and staff working there. No judgment, honest help, full transparency, and most importantly, gentle handiwork. Ahn's hands are the work of an angel! Front desk Vicky is a "Jane of all trades" and she was the first friendly, helpful voice I encountered with this office and I knew immediately I would be in good hands. Appointments were easily made and they're open later on weekdays which made post work visits a breeze. Maybe bring headphones if you're weak to the sound of the drills since it's pretty quiet inside. My sister and I got our braces here, Dr.Chapman was very rude to my young sister every time we visited. The only time I was happy with Chapman was when I got my braces off and never needed to go back. That was until my teeth shifted regardless of my obsessive retainer wearing (as did my sisters). They refused to help correct my teeth. I look at all of these other patients from other orthodontist offices with perfect teeth who have a permanent bar (Dr. Chapman's office refuses to put these in). I am getting my teeth fixed again after years and trust me when I tell you there are many better places to go! I'd give them 0/5 stars if I could. read more

Exceptional!!!! I have tried many different dentists until I found Dr Luu. My family and I have been his patients for years and he's still my favorite dentist. He and his staffs are always there to care for you, always stop and ask how I'm doing. I had a big accident falling face down I thought I was going to loose all my front teeth but he was able to save my teeth. He takes time and does what's best for you. Best Dentist EVER!!! Dr Matthew Luu did an amazing deep cleaning, he explained everything in detail on what he was going to be doing. I am normally terrified of the dentist. My last dentist retired and attempted to see other dentist with no luck. After about 2 yrs without seeing a dentist I needed to be seen due to tooth pain. Very kind, intelligent staff. We book last minute appointments and they got us in. My partner and I got a deep cleaning and we were given topical numbing for it which really helped. I even had a cavity that was filled quickly and easily. Topical numbing is the only way to go if you need an injection into your mouth as well. I didn't even feel the needle. read more

Dr Lu and Anna, are absolutely amazing. I have to say that the dental hygienist Anna cleaned my teeth better than anyone has before. She took her time and made sure that I was comfortable. I would highly recommend this dentist for anyone that is nervous about going to the dentist, or who is trying to find a good dentist. Also, I think one of the most important things is I did not feel pressured to have any type of work done, their prices are very fair and most is all, covered by insurance.
