Cute lil place, you might miss it if you don't look closely, there's street work being done so alil tricky to get in that one entrance to lil shopping center. I arrived 30 minutes before it closed so glad I made it. The decor is super cute. The young man taking my order was very kind and patient. I am a vanilla latte girl, sometimes I will get a swirl of caramel and today I decided to try the harmonic cardamom latte and I was not swayed incorrectly. This was really tasty and the sweet that I like! I can't wait to be back and have some food.

Worth a visit! Very cutely decorated, and would go back to try the food next time. Their floral latte with their homemade lavender syrup was delicious, a good size, and the decoration on top was so cute.

I've been wanting to try this spot for almost a year after seeing all the hype on Instagram. 4 weekend attempts last year, lines out the door, so I finally stopped by on a weekday when I was nearby. I went with the Mayan Mocha, the tamal Chapin, and a chuchito. The Mayan Mocha was the standout. It had this bold, sweetish flavor with notes I've never tasted in coffee before. The tamal Chapin was a bit bland overall and had very little chicken inside. The chuchito had a nice salsa with good flavor, but the masa itself felt a little dry with each bite, even though it was bathed in sauce. The coffee alone makes this place worth a visit.

Really cool place! It's been on my list for months and I finally visited. I arrived and the place was busy. Several people came by while I was here. The waiters are really cool, very nice. This place is legit run by Guatemalans which was pretty cool. I recently visited Guatemala so it was fun to chat with the waiter who noticed my shirt (I was coincidentally wearing a shirt I bought in Guatemala with a picture of Tikal lol). Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.

The service here was great, I love when all my questions are answered with a positive attitude. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was very good! We usually go to Ulew coffee but had to check this place out too as they are related! The ambiance was very welcoming and family friendly. There were people of all ages. Their pumpkin pie was delicious!

Chapmayan Café is such a lovely little Guatemalan coffee shop and a great find. I tried both the cardamom latte and the floral latte, and they were absolutely delicious--smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the care that goes into their coffee. I also tried the Guatemalan tamal with rice and chicken, which was a first for me. It was comforting, flavorful, and totally different from other tamales I've had--in the best way. Everything felt homemade and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. I'll definitely be coming back to try more.

Coffee: 10/10 ~creamy, strong coffee flavor, sweet but not overly so. Fave: Mayan latte Food: Chuchito 7/10, Shuco 8.5/10 ~the Chuchito was good but the tomato salsa on top was very salty which kinda overpowered the chuchito itself (I would try it again, maybe without the salsa); the shuco was delicious! It sounds overwhelming because it comes with 3 meats and a lot of condiments but it balances out very well. Abs recommend to try! Add the picamas! Overall rating: 9/10. Abs recommend to come here. I'll be back myself! They have yummy looking pastries that I did not try. They get busy around 10ish so come early :P

I'm sort of in the middle when it comes to my experience at ChapMayan Coffee. If I could I'd actually give it 3.5* but rounded up due to an overall decent experience. To start off ChapMayan Coffee shares a corner piece of property along Slauson Ave and Rosmead Blvd. The parking lot is already small and spot availability was nonexistent at the time we arrived, 11:45 am. We ended parking around the corner in the neighborhood. The space is pretty small with a couple of tables, coffee tables, and front window counter seating. Each space was filled and the line of people seemed like a good sign that this was a popular place for coffee. I went with my bf and we ordered the Mayan Latte, Mayan Mocha, breakfast sandwich and one of the pumpkin pies. The Mayan latte was your standard latte, good coffee flavor and balanced with the oat and condensed milk. The Mayan Mocha was nice with the chocolate coming through, but the surprising and nice ingredient was the cardamom. Both were good standard in terms of lattes and mochas. The breakfast sandwich was good as well...size wise a but underwhelming for the price, but everything is more expensive nowadays. The pumpkin pie was great, it tasted like the same spices used in the mayan latte/mocha were in it which I liked. The one thing I will say that wait times can get up there...it took about 20-30 minutes to actually get all of our items which seemed a bit long. The place is on the small side, including the kitchen and area to prepare items but I've been to shops in the simlar spaces and have taken a fraction of the time to receive things. So in a sense it's deceptively busy partly, I think due to wait times. But overall it does seem like a popular local place.

Our Bell Gardens bike group rode to this shop for coffee. I've never heard of a tamal wrapped in banana leaves, so I wanted to try it. When we got there, there was alot of people already. Mostly locals because I noticed when they were greeted, they were told "welcome back". The workers all had such a positive vibe, it was very welcoming and inviting. The interior had Mayan decor and comfy chairs with padding of traditional Mayan designs. Some of my peers ordered the tostada trio and were impressed by the simple ingredients and massive flavor, but I wanted that tamal Chapin. When it came out, I smelled the steamed banana leaf. The tamal itself was so tender and soft! Almost like a oatmeal consistency. Not like traditional tamales that sometimes have hard, dry ends. The banana leaf gave the tamal an interesting flavor. It was absolutely phenomenal. It also came with two breads, perfect to smear the tamal on. I heard my friends say the coffee was really good. And my sweet tooth wanted to get some of those sweets. They had a great sweets menu too! Very diverse, but guess I have to save that for another trip. If you are crusing up or down Rosemead Blvd and you are nearing Slauson, STOP here. You will absolutely not regret it.

Had an excellent experience at this cafe. We walked in with a family of 15, thirty minutes before closing and we didn't feel rushed at all. All the drinks were spot on delish. I tried the blue matcha and it was just the right amount of matcha with a more flowery twist. It was my brothers birthday and they gave him a fruit tart and played a Marimba styled happy birthday over the speakers. Next time I'd like to try the food! I loved my cardamom latte so much! When we got there the guy was using a shaker cup to make it nice and frothy like a shaken espresso type drink. It is so delicious I had to stop in my tracks to write this review- not only for the yummy coffee but because it is so adorable in there and the staff is so friendly. I've come here a few times and unfortunately will have to give this place up. Service is extremely slow and frustrating. Phone orders seem to be prioritized, as the cashier takes calls while customers are left waiting in line. The first time I visited, we ordered matcha drinks, which took 20 minutes or more to receive. I was understanding since it was busy. The second time, I tried to keep it simple and ordered drip coffee, expecting it to be faster but we still waited about 30 minutes just to receive it. Most places hand you drip coffee right after you pay, but that wasn't the case here. Parking is also very limited, and you may need to park on the street. For now, I'll be passing. Coffee and matcha shouldn't be this complicated. read more

This place deserves the stars it has. The coffee is DELICIOUSLY AMAZING. I ordered the Mayan latte and wow it was rich in taste. The espresso taste is strong but pairs well with the sweetness of the condensed milk. Recommend 10/10. My boyfriend ordered the vanilla latte and he's a black coffee drinker and he said it was delicious. I also got an Oreo cheesecake and I'm excited to eat that bc yummmm it looks delicious. Please come try this place if you're in the area !!! The ambiance is relaxing and just a nice place to come sit with a friend or even read a book. read more

My latte was pretty good though has done kind of cardamom that made me not want to finish it. The food is really good. Service is whatever, not great thought not bad. Ambiance is cute, but the place is way too small. I'd be back more but they close on my days off. read more

This is one of my favorite small businesses in Pico Rivera. The staff are very kind and friendly, the interior is beautiful, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the rellenitos de platano, which are a very unique dessert with black beans that is sweet but not too sweet. I also love the chuchitos, which have a nice tomato flavor (not spicy at all). Lastly, the cafe de olla is delicious -- I've had this drink elsewhere but nothing beats Chapmayan. Not to mention, I think the prices are pretty fair for a small business (the three things pictured cost $17). Highly recommend! read more

Finally!! A great speciality style coffee shop has opened up in Pico Rivera. Cafe de olla done right and something called the Mayan coffee was also perfection in a cup. Great service, and great selection of breakfast items. I loved this place. The "Shuco Chapin" breakfast sandwich was a hit. "Muy delicioso". Definitely support your local small businesses people. Come by and bring a friend and try this place out. read more

This was my first time here , and let me tell you I was really impressed. I had a cafe de olla late and it was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness . I did not have time to try the amazing looking food but I will be back soon with my wife. Let's not forget the amazing service, everyone was helpful and patient. This coffee taste so specific, that no other place could compare to it. It taste really good and it has a very specific flavor. Hence the name chapmayan. I highly recommend the Iced Mayan Latte with the rellenito. The coffee was strong with a good amount of cinnamon. The beans inside of the rellenito was so flavorful, and just look at the presentation of the dishes! The chuchito was delicious as well, the texture of the masa was very tasty and the salsa over the chuchito exceeded my expectations! The service was amazing, the decorations made me feel like I was in Guatemala, loved the ambiance! Go check them out! read more

Stopped by for a coffee before a beach day. Well to start definitely had to brush up on my Spanish reading the menu, but the staff was so incredibly sweet. The staff took great care in making sure our order was correct. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was solid and hit the spot. And then the cardamom latte...that's the real winner here. You can see how they take great care and consideration in their coffee drinks. It was incredible, perfect flavor not overly sweet. Really unique too. 100% will be stopping by again for a latte. read more

Was really hoping to like this new Guatemalan coffee shop. The place is pretty nice and very reasonably priced. Their coffee is incredible because they use beans from local roaster Picaresca coffee. The coffee alone will have me coming back. However, the food takes a while to come out and the tamal chapin is probably the worst tamal I've her had. It had the consistency of porridge but shaped like a tamal. The tostadas were fun to look at but they are perricos brand tostadas with the thinnest layer of beans and other flavors. read more

I have been wanting to come here for some time. I finally had a chance to stop by this morning. I wanted to love it! I wanted to really love it. It wasn't good. The service is very very slow. I ordered the cafe de olla latte hot, café americano and chuchito. The customer service is ok. The guy was nice, but I had to repeat my order several times. I was expecting Guatemalan cafe food. They didn't have any Guatemalan bread or pastries. Which I found disappointing. They had cheesecakes, croissants, etc The chuchito (imagine a small Mexican tamale) Was not good. They are served with salsa. This one was drenched in what tasted and smelled like marinara sauce. The masa needed salt and the inside was dry with a piece of chicken. The drinks didn't impress me. Also my coffee was luke warm. I wanted to try the shucco, but at $14 each, I passed. I hope they do well. read more

We went in randomly and I can say it's a MUST try! I ordered the vanilla latte iced and Mayan latte hot. They are really good and made with lots of love. The service was really good and staff was welcoming. The ambience was really peaceful and calming. I was so happy and impressed to see they had fresh tarts along with other pastries and the tart I ordered was so delicious. Coffee pricing was reasonable and it's worth supporting small businesses! read more

This family-owned coffee shop is hands down the best I've tried in LA. After sampling several places in LA for a great ice shaken espresso latte or organic freshly squeezed juices, this one truly stands out. If you're a coffee enthusiast like me, you'll definitely notice the difference, and you won't have to pay the insanely steep prices for a mediocre cup of coffee. Forget Tierra Mia, One Twelve, horchateria or honey greens or whatever coffee place you go to for coffee, go here instead, you won't regret it. My go to... get the Ice Mayan latte. I love this coffee shop! I discovered it on my way to work one day, and I've been back several times since then. Problem is that it is currently TikTok famous so it's incredibly busy in the morning and you will not get your coffee quickly. I will be back in a few weeks, I'm hoping the til too hype will die down by then. Their coffee is delicious and their tamales are so fresh! I highly recommend, just be patient. read more

Coffee is very strong, but in a good way. Social media exposure definitely helped hype this place up. It's worth the drive and the money. Desserts are very sweet and tasty. Atmospheres feels very welcoming, and as it is expected, the wait time is a bit longer than usual due to the social media exposure it has gotten. Overall recommend, if you're close by or are trying a new coffee spot. read more

his place is truly an experience. The decor, the flavors and the attention to detail is unmatched. You truly feel as if you stepped into a little café in Guatemala. The Customer Service was wonderful. The gentleman got my order 100% correct and had it ready when I arrived. They have gourmet coffee with latte art lots of vegetarian options, and their pastry case is incredible. They have true Parisian, croissants, pies, tarts, cookies, cake, cakes. Nothing needed seasoning. Attention was paid to every detail, and the only regret I have is that I didn't order twice as much! I am staying in the area and needed a morning coffee. I am so glad I decided to stop in at ChapMayan. The coffee was spectacular! I tried a de Olla latte and it was otherworldly. Super cute coffee shop here in Pico! All the people that work here are very friendly and made our first time experience wanting to come back. They were explaining every coffee thoroughly and even letting us smell the coffee beans to describe where they come from. They make every syrup in house which I appreciate it. The food is really good too! The tamales, breakfast sandwiches, and chuchitos! For the coffee I've only had the cafe de olla and the Mayan. Absolutely delicious! probably some of the best coffee I've ever had! I didn't catch the baristas' names, but they were incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and made sure I was happy with my order. When I arrived, the employee who helped me, Bianca, was incredibly friendly and even walked the agua fresca out to my car to help me load it. My girls absolutely loved the aesthetics of the space--it's beautifully designed and very family-friendly. The menu was easy to follow, with clear pictures and detailed descriptions of each item, which made ordering simple and enjoyable. We tried the King Nutella Boba and the Cotton Candy Boba--both were surprisingly delicious and a big hit! It turned into such a fun Nana-and-granddaughters date. Thank you to the Le Chime staff for making our visit such a memorable experience!

The back patio was so nice and shaded, with music playing, and honestly made me feel like I was somewhere tropical. If I were still in school, this would definitely be a spot I'd come to get some work done. The only downside is that there isn't much parking since it's located on a corner surrounded by residential streets, so plan accordingly. Overall, I really enjoyed it and can't wait to come back and try something new!
