Yay legit Guatemalan coffee and treats and they even have hats and other great stuff around the walls. We loved everything here and the workers are super nice and helpful with everything. Love the photos and the overall vibe is just chill and inviting. Come check it out!

The service here was great, I love when all my questions are answered with a positive attitude. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was very good! We usually go to Ulew coffee but had to check this place out too as they are related! The ambiance was very welcoming and family friendly. There were people of all ages. Their pumpkin pie was delicious!

Chapmayan Café is such a lovely little Guatemalan coffee shop and a great find. I tried both the cardamom latte and the floral latte, and they were absolutely delicious--smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the care that goes into their coffee. I also tried the Guatemalan tamal with rice and chicken, which was a first for me. It was comforting, flavorful, and totally different from other tamales I've had--in the best way. Everything felt homemade and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. I'll definitely be coming back to try more.

Coffee: 10/10 ~creamy, strong coffee flavor, sweet but not overly so. Fave: Mayan latte Food: Chuchito 7/10, Shuco 8.5/10 ~the Chuchito was good but the tomato salsa on top was very salty which kinda overpowered the chuchito itself (I would try it again, maybe without the salsa); the shuco was delicious! It sounds overwhelming because it comes with 3 meats and a lot of condiments but it balances out very well. Abs recommend to try! Add the picamas! Overall rating: 9/10. Abs recommend to come here. I'll be back myself! They have yummy looking pastries that I did not try. They get busy around 10ish so come early :P

Our Bell Gardens bike group rode to this shop for coffee. I've never heard of a tamal wrapped in banana leaves, so I wanted to try it. When we got there, there was alot of people already. Mostly locals because I noticed when they were greeted, they were told "welcome back". The workers all had such a positive vibe, it was very welcoming and inviting. The interior had Mayan decor and comfy chairs with padding of traditional Mayan designs. Some of my peers ordered the tostada trio and were impressed by the simple ingredients and massive flavor, but I wanted that tamal Chapin. When it came out, I smelled the steamed banana leaf. The tamal itself was so tender and soft! Almost like a oatmeal consistency. Not like traditional tamales that sometimes have hard, dry ends. The banana leaf gave the tamal an interesting flavor. It was absolutely phenomenal. It also came with two breads, perfect to smear the tamal on. I heard my friends say the coffee was really good. And my sweet tooth wanted to get some of those sweets. They had a great sweets menu too! Very diverse, but guess I have to save that for another trip. If you are crusing up or down Rosemead Blvd and you are nearing Slauson, STOP here. You will absolutely not regret it.

I'm sort of in the middle when it comes to my experience at ChapMayan Coffee. If I could I'd actually give it 3.5* but rounded up due to an overall decent experience. To start off ChapMayan Coffee shares a corner piece of property along Slauson Ave and Rosmead Blvd. The parking lot is already small and spot availability was nonexistent at the time we arrived, 11:45 am. We ended parking around the corner in the neighborhood. The space is pretty small with a couple of tables, coffee tables, and front window counter seating. Each space was filled and the line of people seemed like a good sign that this was a popular place for coffee. I went with my bf and we ordered the Mayan Latte, Mayan Mocha, breakfast sandwich and one of the pumpkin pies. The Mayan latte was your standard latte, good coffee flavor and balanced with the oat and condensed milk. The Mayan Mocha was nice with the chocolate coming through, but the surprising and nice ingredient was the cardamom. Both were good standard in terms of lattes and mochas. The breakfast sandwich was good as well...size wise a but underwhelming for the price, but everything is more expensive nowadays. The pumpkin pie was great, it tasted like the same spices used in the mayan latte/mocha were in it which I liked. The one thing I will say that wait times can get up there...it took about 20-30 minutes to actually get all of our items which seemed a bit long. The place is on the small side, including the kitchen and area to prepare items but I've been to shops in the simlar spaces and have taken a fraction of the time to receive things. So in a sense it's deceptively busy partly, I think due to wait times. But overall it does seem like a popular local place.

ChapMayan- finally a quality small coffee place in Pico Rivera. I've gone back and tried a few several lattes and they are all great quality and made with care. Their service is super nice, and definitely worth the wait when they are busy. 10/10 overall.

Talk about a hidden gem!! The ambiance inside is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Dennis assisted us and he was incredibly kind, respectful, and professional. We really appreciated his hospitality while we were there. The breakfast sandwiches are to DIE FOR!! One of the best I've ever had, easily. Super filling, fresh ingredients, and very flavorful. I washed it down with a Mayan mocha which was absolutely delicious -- very smooth and refreshing. The pumpkin cheesecake here is super good, but I'd recommend sharing as it is rather rich and on the sweet side. All in all, this place is a must visit for all 3 aspects: service, ambiance, and food!!! Give them a shot, you can thank me later :)

I've visited this location twice. Once when it had a few days since it opened and another time a few weeks ago. They have some of the best enchiladas(tostadas) I've tried so I had to come again. The staff is very friendly. And their service is very quick. They have tables for you to enjoy your meal and the decor is very pretty. Reminded me of little pieces of Guatemala. I will definitely return.

Rellenito de platano, chuchito, and cafe de olla

This is one of my favorite small businesses in Pico Rivera. The staff are very kind and friendly, the interior is beautiful, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the rellenitos de platano, which are a very unique dessert with black beans that is sweet but not too sweet. I also love the chuchitos, which have a nice tomato flavor (not spicy at all). Lastly, the cafe de olla is delicious -- I've had this drink elsewhere but nothing beats Chapmayan. Not to mention, I think the prices are pretty fair for a small business (the three things pictured cost $17). Highly recommend!

Came here on a Thursday and I am glad I did!! Located in the corner of the plaza, this spot is actually bigger inside than it looks from outside, if that makes sense, aka there's seating available inside. The atmosphere is pretty chill for reading a book, and the customer service was the best! They explained what kind of beans they use and what's popular/good. They have an interesting cardamom coffee that I wanted to try but didn't and chose the Mayan latte instead, so did my bf, he got it hot and they made a super detailed latte art!! And it's pretty delicious of course

This place is such a beautiful little hole in the wall, that celebrates Guatemalan culture when diversity is oppressed. The coffees are excellent, I purchased the Cafe de Olla, Floral and Mayan. The flavors are on point and delicious ! The service was great and workers friendly!

This coffee taste so specific, that no other place could compare to it. It taste really good and it has a very specific flavor. Hence the name chapmayan. Finally!! A great speciality style coffee shop has opened up in Pico Rivera. Cafe de olla done right and something called the Mayan coffee was also perfection in a cup. Great service, and great selection of breakfast items. I loved this place. The "Shuco Chapin" breakfast sandwich was a hit. "Muy delicioso". Definitely support your local small businesses people. Come by and bring a friend and try this place out. read more

This was my first time here , and let me tell you I was really impressed. I had a cafe de olla late and it was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness . I did not have time to try the amazing looking food but I will be back soon with my wife. Let's not forget the amazing service, everyone was helpful and patient. I highly recommend the Iced Mayan Latte with the rellenito. The coffee was strong with a good amount of cinnamon. The beans inside of the rellenito was so flavorful, and just look at the presentation of the dishes! The chuchito was delicious as well, the texture of the masa was very tasty and the salsa over the chuchito exceeded my expectations! Stopped by for a coffee before a beach day. Well to start definitely had to brush up on my Spanish reading the menu, but the staff was so incredibly sweet. The staff took great care in making sure our order was correct. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was solid and hit the spot. And then the cardamom latte...that's the real winner here. You can see how they take great care and consideration in their coffee drinks. It was incredible, perfect flavor not overly sweet. Really unique too. 100% will be stopping by again for a latte. read more

Was really hoping to like this new Guatemalan coffee shop. The place is pretty nice and very reasonably priced. Their coffee is incredible because they use beans from local roaster Picaresca coffee. The coffee alone will have me coming back. However, the food takes a while to come out and the tamal chapin is probably the worst tamal I've her had. It had the consistency of porridge but shaped like a tamal. The tostadas were fun to look at but they are perricos brand tostadas with the thinnest layer of beans and other flavors. read more

I have been wanting to come here for some time. I finally had a chance to stop by this morning. I wanted to love it! I wanted to really love it. It wasn't good. The service is very very slow. I ordered the cafe de olla latte hot, café americano and chuchito. The customer service is ok. The guy was nice, but I had to repeat my order several times. I was expecting Guatemalan cafe food. They didn't have any Guatemalan bread or pastries. Which I found disappointing. They had cheesecakes, croissants, etc The chuchito (imagine a small Mexican tamale) Was not good. They are served with salsa. This one was drenched in what tasted and smelled like marinara sauce. The masa needed salt and the inside was dry with a piece of chicken. The drinks didn't impress me. Also my coffee was luke warm. I wanted to try the shucco, but at $14 each, I passed. I hope they do well. read more

I love this coffee shop! I discovered it on my way to work one day, and I've been back several times since then. Problem is that it is currently TikTok famous so it's incredibly busy in the morning and you will not get your coffee quickly. I will be back in a few weeks, I'm hoping the til too hype will die down by then. Their coffee is delicious and their tamales are so fresh! I highly recommend, just be patient. read more

I am staying in the area and needed a morning coffee. I am so glad I decided to stop in at ChapMayan. The coffee was spectacular! I tried a de Olla latte and it was otherworldly. Not too sweet and super flavorful. The food and pastries looked amazing, but I wasn't hungry and didn't try anything. The workers were super sweet and friendly and the ambiance was lovely. We went in randomly and I can say it's a MUST try! I ordered the vanilla latte iced and Mayan latte hot. They are really good and made with lots of love. The service was really good and staff was welcoming. The ambience was really peaceful and calming. I was so happy and impressed to see they had fresh tarts along with other pastries and the tart I ordered was so delicious. This family-owned coffee shop is hands down the best I've tried in LA. After sampling several places in LA for a great ice shaken espresso latte or organic freshly squeezed juices, this one truly stands out. If you're a coffee enthusiast like me, you'll definitely notice the difference, and you won't have to pay the insanely steep prices for a mediocre cup of coffee. Forget Tierra Mia, One Twelve, horchateria or honey greens or whatever coffee place you go to for coffee, go here instead, you won't regret it. My go to... get the Ice Mayan latte. Coffee is very strong, but in a good way. Social media exposure definitely helped hype this place up. It's worth the drive and the money. Desserts are very sweet and tasty. Atmospheres feels very welcoming, and as it is expected, the wait time is a bit longer than usual due to the social media exposure it has gotten. The coffee was excellent quality and flavorful. I had the mayan mocha which had amazing balance with the robust coffee used. The shuco had high quality meat and awesome sauce with the perfect bread that made it an excellent sandwhich. The chuchito and platano were nice treats. his place is truly an experience. The decor, the flavors and the attention to detail is unmatched. You truly feel as if you stepped into a little café in Guatemala. The Customer Service was wonderful. The gentleman got my order 100% correct and had it ready when I arrived. They have gourmet coffee with latte art lots of vegetarian options, and their pastry case is incredible. They have true Parisian, croissants, pies, tarts, cookies, cake, cakes. Nothing needed seasoning. Attention was paid to every detail, and the only regret I have is that I didn't order twice as much! Super cute coffee shop here in Pico! All the people that work here are very friendly and made our first time experience wanting to come back. They were explaining every coffee thoroughly and even letting us smell the coffee beans to describe where they come from. They make every syrup in house which I appreciate it. The food is really good too! The tamales, breakfast sandwiches, and chuchitos! For the coffee I've only had the cafe de olla and the Mayan. They have a chef making pastries only on the weekends, which are amazing as well! Everything is DELICIOUS. My new fav coffee spot here in the hood. :) read more

Absolutely delicious! probably some of the best coffee I've ever had! I didn't catch the baristas' names, but they were incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and made sure I was happy with my order. A gem! Super adorable inside and the beans they use are high quality. I recommend the de olla latte, it was perfect boost on my slow weekday morning. I will be back to try the other offerings on their menu though. I hope they get good business so they stay open. It is situated in a pretty industrial neighborhood so drive careful. It is also pretty off the beaten path for me, but I'm taking a mental note any time I'm in or near the area. read more

Love this cafe!! The coffee was amazing, the food was delicious, the service was great! The staff is very friendly. It's warm and inviting. Reminded me of my trip to Guatemala with lovely hand woven fabric on the chairs and tables. Beautiful pictures of Guatemala on the walls. I will definitely be going back! SO SO SO AMAZING! I love this little Guatemalan coffee shop in Pico. They always have lively marimba music/Spanish music playing. They always greet you with a smile. And of course the coffee is delicious! My favorite is the Harmonic Cardamom Latte or the Cafe de Olla Latte. The Guatemalan tamales are to die for and so are pastries. The chia pudding does come pre sweetened so keep that in mind if you don't want something too sweet. As for the toppings they have an array of choices and you can pick as many as you want! The service is quick and everyone is nice. It does get busy even at night but the staff are pretty quick with preparing the bowls. They also have an online ordering service so you can order ahead!

When I arrived, the employee who helped me, Bianca, was incredibly friendly and even walked the agua fresca out to my car to help me load it.
