ChapTech installed my equipment several years ago and all was fine until a couple weeks ago when my Internet connection went down. I don't want to bore anyone with a laundry list of all the outstanding aspects of my experience with Andrew. The short versions is: he knows what he's talking about, and he got it done for us; and he treated us with honesty and respect during the job. The long version is: Andrew was the only person who offered us options when we *thought* we wanted a TV moved from one room to another. We had Frontier Communications FiOS, and thought the cable needed to be pulled into another room if we wanted the TV moved. We got four estimates for moving the cable, TV and shelf, but only Andrew said there might be a better way. We had heard people talk about using an app to watch a smart TV but had no idea how to accomplish it. Andrew cared enough to take the time to tell us how to do it. Ultimately, we abandoned that project for a different one but we are so glad we asked Andrew to do it for us. He took care of every detail! He even resolved issues with our current technology that were frustrating us, and made suggestions along the way for things we hadn't imagined yet. We contacted Andrew to help us with our two harmony remotes we had previously set up with another company that had been giving us some issues for some time. (We had changed some technology over the years and attempted to update the remote programming which resulted in losing the connection with the remotes.). After months of going back to juggling 3 different remotes again, we finally had enough and decided it was time to get some professional help. I wanted to find someone local and discovered Andrew with Chaptech IT. Andrew was extremely quick to respond to our Yelp message with details how we would be able to help us, and was able to come fix our issue that same afternoon. What I thought would take all evening to do (especially considering he was tweaking someone else's work) only took him a little over 2 hours to complete and get us up and running again - talk about a guy who knows his stuff! We didn't make it easy for him either considering one remote was hooked to a tv/receiver system that was located in another room, and the other remote was hooked to a tv in the room with the receiver lending to all the signals being crossed. Like magic both now work again. We even had a weird experience with one of our remotes a few days after he left and he was more than willing to help us out and get us back on track. To me that shows that he really cares about his customers and his reputation. I would recommend giving Andrew a call if you are having any trouble with your AV systems! Given the current COVID environment, my family needed ensure that our home networking system was robust enough to handle two working adults (working remotely) and two children doing online learning. Andrew and his team have upgraded our existing system so that we now have strong coverage throughout our entire home. We can have each member of our home using multiple devices at the same time with no issues. The one wonderful feature that ChapTech IT provides is an ability to address any networking issues remotely. This has come in handy recently. Anything electronic - Andrew can help. Andrew came out to my house to fix my Homegroup on 3 PCs. During a Windows 10 upgrade, the Homegroup became corrupted and would not allow me to create a new one. Andrew came out and fixed the problem on all three computers. Last week, he upgraded my laptop with a solid state hard drive. It runs amazingly fast now. I primarily use it for my cooking recipes and have used Living Cookbook for years. Just prior to the upgrade I found out that the company went out of business!!! Andrew helped me research other cookbook programs and helped me select a great one (Paprika). He also recommended ESET Nod32 as my antiviirus program. I love both programs! I will be having him come back to install solid state drives in my 2 desktop computers. If you need help with any of your electronics (computers, receivers, smart phones, smart lighting, TVs, Ring Doorbell) call him first! He is personable, honest, very reasonably priced and very smart. I had him install new 65" inch Oled tv with new sound bar, mount and Harmony universal remote. New blue ray and cable box had to be connected. My components sit in wooden cabinet with door so proper sensors must be installed. Andrews's estimate was very reasonable so I hired him. Showed up on time. As he started to work he encountered many glitches. He ultimately solved each of them but while solving them I started to have serious doubts about his know how. It took him longer to finish work, not his fault, but he did not anticipate some issues. Universal remote did not function as set up and he came over four nights in row to try to fix it with new problem next day. Found out that some of the small connectors were defective. Ultimately everything was set up as promised and we are enjoying new tv, Apple TV, Netflix etc. He lives close to my neighborhood in HB so he was able to run over on short notice. I will hire him again but probably won't watch him work because glitches made me question him unnecessarily. He is a nice guy. read more

We heard from neighbors about how kind and helpful he is (without being too judgmental about our lack of tech knowledge) and they were right! He helped update my mom's 2011 desktop mac and my laptop mac from 2012. He answers all questions and knows about EVERYTHING. If there is something he doesn't know (rare) he will take the time to research it and come back with an answer. He makes himself very available and gives out his phone number in case his clients have any questions. Also he's so easygoing and friendly so we loved having him over! My laptop and our desktop computer are running 10x faster and no longer have issues with iphoto (it got updated to just "Photos") or other apps that couldn't be updated. He really extended the life of our computers so I don't have to go out and buy a new one. I would highly recommend him to any family member or friend! read more
