We came to Chardon Tavern and Grill to eat lunch. Me and my son Thomas were really hungry. My son got the cheese curds which were fabulous. And the boneless wings, which were really good. I got the mushroom Swiss burger, and one of the biggest side salad I've ever seen for a great price. The burger was phenomenal and it was huge. Our waitress who was Jessie was more than accommodating. She was friendly and nice and kept checking up on us. I definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants to come here and eat. I ordered the Cajun cod (no hoagie) and upsided for $2, a small dinner salad with crumbled blue cheese (no dressing) with 100% olive oil and vinegar on the side. My meal was perfect, healthy and clean. The atmosphere was comfortable and rustic. Our waitress, Madeline, was beyond professional. She was pleasant, patient, a pleasure to have serve us. Where's my change? We were given NO coin change when we paid our bill. The bartender "rounded up". This is not only unprofessional but it is illegal. The food was fine and the bartender seemed fine but we will never return and encourage everyone to beware and if this happens to you ask for the change that you are due. The steak salad I ordered was delicious. I will say that we did have to ask our waitress for everything such as silverware for our salad and ask for refills. This should be stuff that is done without asking. If it was packed I would be more understanding. Our waitress was very polite but silverware and refills are two things that are the most basic. Again, great food and good atmosphere just need to stay on top of things a little better. I spent many years at the old Chardon Beverage. This nothing like the old place, but still a good stop. Food is very good along with the service. It would be nice if it was a little bigger, but still worth stopping in for a drink or two and a meal. read more

If you like fresh, homemade burgers, this is a great place to go. The drinks are great and the atmosphere is friendly. They have recently done a lot of updating on the building and are currently still in the process of updating. We go here quite a bit for a bite to eat, and a drink. read more

Friendly little dive bar close to Chardon square. There did seem to be several regulars and the girl working during the day was conversational and welcoming. The bar was four sided with TVs facing each direction. I like this type of set up as it's more social than a straight bar facing a wall. There were plenty of comfy bar stools surrounding the large bar. This would be a great place to catch a game. There were plenty of beers on tap and a large selection of liquor and flavors of each. You should be able to find one of your favorites here. We tried the hot maple wings. The sauce had a good sweet heat and it was tasty, but it wasn't a strong maple flavor. I did see someone else order a burger and fries... it didn't look impressive, but didn't look bad either...pretty basic. There was a decent bar menu if you're out drinking and get the munchies, but I'm not sure it's the type of place to be a dinner destination. There was a restaurant side, but it was empty when we were in. Two rocks pours of Honey Jack, 2-12oz tap Vanilla Porters, 1-16oz Modello and 10 wings came to $36 and change. Terrible service and food! After taking the order we never saw the waitress again! The fried mushrooms were still frozen and I had to go get the waitress to fix the problem. When the cook brought them back there was half a basket. We don't know what happened to the rest of them! We also got a cheeseburger which we ordered medium rare-the burger was raw! Again, the waitress never came back to check on us and no one cleared our table. I had to go to the bar to get our check. Disappointing because we thought it was a cute place! read more

While the food and service have always been good, our visit last week will keep us from ever returning. I have never left zero tip for a waitress. I am typically a 20-25% tipper but this particular girl earned the goose egg I left her. I noticed I had been charged for 3 beers instead of the 2 I actually had so we brought it to the manager's (possibly owner) attention. Moments later the waitress came over to dispute our claim. She insisted that I had had 3 beers, when it simply was not true. "We have cameras to check to prove it" she warned and stormed off. We spoke again to the manager/owner who really didn't give a crap that her waitress was incredibly rude and insisted that I was a liar trying to get a free beer. I wanted to insist on seeing the cameras but was told they were too busy. I left a message for them with my phone number. I asked them to call me after they view the film. No call. Either there are no cameras and they are in fact the liars here, or they simply don't give a shit. If they care so little about their customers I'd rather not return. It's hard to tell what other important things they don't care about either. If they would like to review the supposed camera and legitimately apologize I'd be happy to remove this review. read more

This tavern recently updated the outside and inside. The service is very good; many draft beers on tap. The menu is full of tasty entries; burgers of all kinds and other pub food. They have daily specials and the pricing is reasonable! Glad to have them in Chardon! read more

According to the owner, 3rd day of offering breakfast. I hope he gets a handle on it real quick. Waited at least 15 minutes before some greet us and took out drink order and gave us menus. We notice another table seem a little bit upset that they had been waiting for their food for a long time. Breakfast menu is pretty basic a couple of conceptually good ideas. They definitely need a chef to turn their menu into wanting customers to come back. Omlette was over done, left and greasy, toast, barely toasted, not buttered. The hash browns could have been a little more brown and crispy. The cinnamon stuffed french toast, wasn't stuffed or french toast, 3 cinnamon rolls maybe dipped in an egg batter and put on a flat top.
