This is the place to go for fish. I had their meat lovers omelette today and was happily surprised by the quality knife cuts. All of the meats inside were a brunoise cut. That's 1/4inch by 1/4 inch. Lets start with the good stuff. The fried fish which is hand battered cod is very good. The Hand breaded Tenderloin sandwich is good also. Now for the salad bar, not so good. If you want to create a nice salad forget it. They have Lettuce and some institutional shredded cheese and no tomatoes, no cucumber, no onion, no carrots no anything else except croutons and sunflower seeds. How cheap is that ? Fries are crinkle cut and they have a bottle of malt vinegar usually, but you'll have to ask for it. Hot sauce on table keeps me happy. Not the sparkling example of clean, bathrooms are small and don't smell good, but the staff is friendly, the customers are locals, and the food is hot and fresh. There's a small salad bar cart has iceberg, cheese, bacon bits, croutons, and then a bunch of dressings, coleslaw, potato salad, and then the classic who knows what kind of pudding and/or jello oddness. I so wanted the food to be good and was expecting it to be good from all the referrals for this place but......it was not. Got Fish and Fries for take out. Honestly I thought the fries would be made from scratch hand-cut fries but they were these tiny thin from a bag frozen dried out fries and they had no flavor other than the bag they came from. The fish was soooo salty that my husband had to put it between bread and make a sandwich to soak up the salt. The one thing we did have that we liked was the fried mushrooms and the onion rings were crisp and good also but a bit too much batter. We had an amazing fish dinner with more than most could eat (very generous portions). Perfectly flavored and nice crunchy batter, not too thick. Very good overall. There was a sign on the door related to a new policy for a fee for credit cards.
