Well lets start with UPDATE YOUR HOURS!!! We looked online said open at noon on Monday got there at 12:30 no cars in the parking lot. Thought maybe they were late waited another 15 minutes and left came back Tuesday same thing. A nice gentleman pulled in and said they don't open till 3PM They just got bought out a few weeks ago. Well came back at 3PM sure enough they were open, stood at the front counter holding 4 balls in 2 bags they counter person acknowledged us and walked by mumbled something and went back behind the pins. Finally about 3:30 or more she came out to the counter to give us a lane. We started bowling about the 3rd frame my ball went down failed to return. Yes there's a service button but it doesn't work went up and stood at the counter, it appears she was oiling/servicing the lanes so I went there and asked she threw up her hands and asked "What do you want me to do about it" Ahhh maybe get my new $200+ ball with three games on it. She finally brought the lane machine back and went back behind the pinsetter after 15 minutes she came back out said that she can't find my ball back there, must be stuck under there, maintenance girl isn't here she's not scheduled till 5 or 6. I can put you on another lane, sure moved us 2 lanes down I think we bowled another 3/4 frames ball disappeared again same thing again... Well its after 5PM the maintenance girl came pulled the ball return apart my first ball was jammed under the floor, she went head first under the floor and came up with my ball came over to our other lane did the same thing, Arrived at 3PM now almost 6PM bowled a grand total of 8 frames, we pretty much gave up walked up to the front desk She said a total that was higher than the internet said I said well the internet says before 5PM is this she said the internet is wrong the new owners raised the price I then said well truthfully we really never bowled a full game She basically then said well leave and don't bother coming back OK DEAL!!! read more

Dear Yelpers, If you are a bowling officianado, this may not be the best bet for you. But, if you are just looking for a bowling alley to have some fun, you won't find much cheaper. Walking in is a blast from the 70s with the old school lanes and set up. Machines and alley relatively out dated but still gets the job done. They told me on the phone they had open lanes. showed up in 20 minutes and they magically had none. they told us they didn't have anymore for the entire night. they responded to my review on Google saying they would have got us in but that wasn't the case.. they told us they were not doing anymore open lanes due to league and reservation. again I'm through trying to support this man. I have gone to Charger lanes a few times for my kids bowling matches and once and only once to try to bowl. The counter staff is very rude and act like you are putting them out by coming to their bowling alley. They keep the games turned off, why I have no clue. Worst of all the ball return will eat your ball. read more

Why give them anything higher than a 1-star rating when they can't even stay consistent with their business hours? If you are going to close the more than an hour before closing, please just close earlier. It saves the staff unwanted time and it doesn't waste my time if I know they are closed. It was so bad I wish I could give you a 0...but that's not possible so I give you A ONE. Walked in here an hour before close and the woman behind the front desk told us that they "close in 30 mins" yet we had called earlier today and they confirmed they were open until 1. The woman then turned her back to us and didn't acknowledge us when we tried to ask questions. After we finally got this biotch's attention, she turned us down and started complaining about how she's already worked 60 hrs this week. over all just so rude and childish. I work in customer service and I'm seriously shocked she felt comfortable acting like that towards a group of teens especially since we were very respectful even after the way she acted towards us. Place may be outdated but it is clean. Balls are not marked well and shoes are well past their prime. Didn't eat there. Based on other reviews we opted to play then eat later. We bowled two people two games. It took an hour and cost us $18 with the shoe rental. My issue is the person working the counter. Owner maybe? We walked into an almost empty bowling alley and though we were at the counter he did not seem to care that we walked in the door. He eventually faced us and didn't really say much. Seems to care less if he helped us. When we had issues at the lane we weren't sure what to do. I headed back up to the counter since the service button was ignored. While he disagrees about the content of his website with a customer I stood there. The issue she was reporting was something myself saw on his website just prior to coming. Even then he was in no rush to help. It's not a bad place but I don't think he cares if we come.... So I won't. read more

Terrible - league bowling they are understaffed and the facility maintenance is non-existent. The few employees that are there do their best to hold it together but every other ball getting stuck or pin machines malfunctioning 5-6 times in a row gets pretty frustrating! Beer is lukewarm, food pretty bad - over or under-cooked - sticky stuff all over the floors...roof has been leaking for years. Do better! We don't have other options. Doesn't make it okay. read more

Went to Charger Lanes today and it was quite possibly the worst experience of my life. My group walked in and we were treated poorly right away. The so-called "manager" then came over to our alley and screamed at us for putting the wrong amount of people on each lane apparently. When asking for a refund, she refused to make eye contact with us and basically threw our money at us, and then called us "assholes" as we walked out the door. read more

Worst experience. Great place to go if you don't want to bowl and just want to eat terrible pizza and cold fries. Manager told us 45 minutes when we walked in. After an hour he asked if we put our names on a list, the one he never told us about. After 2 hours we left. read more

Some of the customer service reps are nice and help, but there seems to be more worse than there are good. I didn't have a horrible time playing, but my brother came in tonight and his lane next to us had a problem with the raking system. The rake would come down clear his pins and reset and then while he bowled the rake system came down again. It happened on two different lanes for him. The blonde hair chick blamed it on him and it was clearly not his fault. I had more than two different accounts saying they saw the same thing. The second time it happened, he had to wait for 20 minutes to get his ball returned. His ball is also a custom bought ball not a house ball. The chick eventually decided to go retrieve his ball only to throw it in the ball return, thus putting a dent into his $200+ ball. She refused to acknowledge her wrong and never thought of the customer in any way. The owner needs to step up and fire this problem and hire the help that actually wants to help the customers read more

Gave this place a shot twice in the last month but there won't be a third. The first time we were told after we paid "Would you like your lane too oiled or not enough because they got screwed up?" We ordered some drinks and food in which the food was still cold in the middle and the bartender was very slow and didn't say a single word to me when I thanked and tipped her. Our pin clearing device malfunctioned every 4 frames or so and when we asked for the manager she was extremely intoxicated. Very unpleasant experience. We went back tonight and we were very displeased. After being told it was open until 1 am we went at 1130. The front desk told us that she wants to close at 12 maybe 1230 because she has leagues to work in the morning. When I asked her if we could have a discounted rate since they were cutting us off early she responded "Only my manager can do that but she left here drunk an hour ago lol. She has like 12 White Russians". Since we were already there we decided we could get about 2-3 games in. Our ball return jammed and ate every two balls. When we finally decided to just leave and let the front desk worker know the lane was broken she was nowhere to be found. As we were walking out we saw her making out with an intoxicated man in the smoking area. We are done here. read more

We come here all the time. We are over 21 and ordered drinks from the bar. There are always a good amount of lanes to choose from, but if we come to drink and bowl, you would expect a good bar tender. The person serving drinks was very unprofessional, and and very rude. She made us feel like we were doing something wrong by ordering a beer. read more

The only reason why I go here is it's the closest one to me. Never understood why every time I go here with a friend we're treated as unwelcome guests even though we're paying customers. We came in one evening while there were leagues going on and we asked for a lane knowing there were ones not being used but they told us that there were no lanes open. Take this into perspective that I'm 17 and mad enough to write a damn yelp review. The "manager" was ridiculously rude from the start. we walked in and the first thing she says is "cosmic bowling is done" in the meanest tone imaginable. we misheard her instructions on how to set up our lanes and she came over and screamed at us from the top of the stairs. that alone was enough for us to ask for a refund. the manager lady (she had some weird eyebrow piercing idk it was weird asf) hid in her office and we had to wait at the counter for literally half an hour before she came out. we asked someone else to get her and she still wouldn't come out. she eventually did and wouldn't say anything, wouldn't make eye contact, and just had her back to us the entire time. we asked for a refund and she refused to give us a full refund. she gave us like 75% of the money back so we walked back to our lane. she comes over and yells at us to get out of her bowling alley just pointing and screaming. she told us "you're just arguing with me like the children you are" and "yeah i'm the asshole here." absolutely ridiculous and i have never been treated this bad. this lady is old and has no right to treat us like this. in no world should someone talk to teenagers with that tone or choice of words. read more

This place has really gone down hill over the years. The ceiling is falling apart with buckets and trash cans everywhere to catch the water leaks. Bags attached to the ceiling with water leaking through the bags. Our personal balls kept getting stuck in lane 22 with only the owner and one girl working during a busy time that I had to ask for a refund for our groups additional two games as it was taking forever to get through the first game with our balls constantly stuck. Asked to be switched to two lanes next to us that freed up and both of the workers said yes but then put new customers in them. Owner shut our first game off in the 9th frame when he refunded additional 2 games for our group so we couldn't even finish one game. He said he refunded the remaining frames of the first game- Not! They don't even have a good ball selection for the little ones. Don't recommend here at all unless it gets new management and remodel. Save your time and frustration- drive to the one in Fairlawn that is newer. I would give 0 stars if an option. read more

Then another worker that was checking us out was completely rude and disrespectful towards us for a Situation that should have been handled with maturity. I have been bowling at Charger for years and I have enjoyed it most of the time. Yes the lanes and returns have problems at times, but they do there best to fix them as soon as they can. As of a couple of years ago they hired a new GM and have updated the kitchen and food ( pretty good ) I would say if you have had a bad experience, give it another shot, you might change your mind. read more
