Go by this place on my way home but have never stopped here. Well,today was the day! I'm very glad I did! Ordered two Cuban sandwiches and one empanda. Both were some of the best I ever had. Charleen,the owner, is very charismatic and a wonderful cook. They have a cute area outside to eat. We did takeout and she made everything fresh. Located on Blackburn Road just before the Casey Key bridge. Can't wait to go back! read more

Had it not been been for the positive Yelp reviews, I would have never even known this little gem that I'd driven by many times over the years and never even noticed it hidden within a bait and tackle shop of all places! While heading out to lunch with a friend who lives less than a mile away, I checked for someplace different for our monthly get together and after spotting it on Yelp, he was unaware of it too, even after living in the immediate area for several years. He likes Cuban food and I've not had much of it and I'm open to new culinary adventures, so we stopped here after almost missing it. Must say, I've never ordered lunch from inside a bait and tackle shop before and it was a delightful experience, thanks to the radiant smile and welcoming attitude exuded by Charleen, who was glad to explain the ingredients and make up of her eclectic offerings. In no time, she brought our orders to our table overlooking the marina harbor where a couple boats came in and out from the dock. I enjoyed a chicken Empanada and my buddy had the beef Empanada and we each had the smoked potato salad. Where else could we enjoy a delicious sandwich, potato salad and drink with a relaxing marina background for $12.50? And she doesn't add a service charge for credit cards! read more

What an amazing little gem! This was my first time trying a cafecito, and wow--it was so good! You can tell it's made with love and care, just like everything else here. We also tried the chicken empanada, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can taste the attention to detail in the cooking. Charleen, the owner, is such a sweetheart! She made us feel so welcome like we were part of the family. The outdoor seating is also a great touch--it's such a nice spot to relax and enjoy your food. Charleen's is part of the bait shop at Osprey Marina. You can get there by boat or car. Super friendly staff and great Cuban food. We've been there twice and had the chicken, beef and plantain empanadas as well as their Cuban coffee. Eat at a picnic table or get it to go. read more

Got Cuban coffee in The Keys a few days later, and it was good, but I was wishing I had more Charleen's. In my opinion it is the perfect blend, and so frothy/creamy. Yum.
