With the kindness and compassion and exceptional care I receive from the dentists here: I now go every 4 to 6 months to get my teeth cleaned. With this kind of care: I no longer have huge dental problems. When the teeth are cleaned regularly... you don't get cavities or need root canals. I just can't say enough how wonderful this office is from their dentist, the support staff, the hygienist and the entire front office staff who keeps you up to date on everything that you need to know to stay healthy. This dentist was referred to me by a friend, so I called Dental Associates and they got me in same day. I arrived and was promptly taken back. The hygienist lit a candle and gave me a little swab of lavender oil. It was a really great experience. She was friendly, stayed on task and I was out of there, a new patient, in just about 45 minutes. The treatment was a little different than I had previously had in that there wasn't just scrapping, there was a seperate tool used. It was so much faster and more thorough. I loved it.

So I paid the out of pocket of $350 and did the cleaning. Two months later they said the insurance actually won't cover it and I owe another $550. Typically there is more transparency if you're taking a gamble with the insurance company and you may have to pay more. The insurance company denied the claim because there was no evidence of the cleaning needed....so why was it presented to me as critical? It's beyond frustrating to put your trust in a new medical professional and then feel like you're oversold for them to make a profit from either the insurance company or the patient individually.

This time around he and his staff went above and beyond to get 2 old crowns replaced (due to decay beneath) within a VERY SHORT timeline due to my travel abroad and my dental cobra insurance expiring at months end. Then I got COVID, so had to compress this timeline even further. His whole team facilitated all of this! The office staff are helpful, friendly and EFFICIENT! Also, I am blind, so when I made my first appointment I asked for electronic versions of the forms I needed to fill out. They sent me the forms in a document format that was very easy for me to fill out. When I came in my fears were immediately put at ease. Everyone there is friendly and gentle, they always tell me exactly what is going to happen when and they also have nice background music! After two years they remember what I like and don't like and always ask how my husband and I are doing when I come in. I haven't needed to have any major work done yet, but if I do I'll feel comfortable and safe getting it done at Belle Haven Family Dentistry.
