I was fortunate enough to get connected with Dr. Pollack through Groupon and I'm very very pleased. Im a little reluctant to admit exactly how long it's been since I've gotten my teeth cleaned, so let's just say it was long overdue. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was Mora and she did a super duper rockstar job. I even asked her if my teeth were the worst she had ever seen and fortunately, they were not. She is a regular staff member here who Dr. Pollack says has been with him for a few years. With group on you never know if they're going to bring in backup staff and it was refreshing to know that a regular staff person treated me even though I was using a group on for services. She told me preventive measures and consequences which I appreciated. I then met Dr. Pollack and he was a real hoot! He's a genuinely hilarious guy and was a pleasure to converse and really cares about the patients he works with. Recommended here by a friend. They knew my friend by name when I checked in, which was impressive. The entire staff was really friendly-- best bed side manner I've ever seen. I knew that my insurance covered cleaning once a year, but moronically didn't check the specifics before going in. The front office called my insurance company and made sure that I was covered for X-rays and cleaning before moving forward with a full set of X-rays. Dr. Pollak was one of the friendliest and personable fellows I've encountered in NY. He told me that he loved my teeth and wished that he could recommend some additional revenue generating service, but wouldn't be able to. I liked it there quite a bit and recommended to a few friends. The only downside was that they were renting out one of their office spaces to another dentist and I was in a room with a slightly old school X-ray machine that I had to help hold in place for a picture or two. Office Dr. Pollak I visited on the base of the discount coupon purchased on groupon for cleaning teeth! First they made me an x-ray of the teeth, after his assistant me perfectly cleaned teeth and finally I had a personal consultation with a doctor who told me what he had seen on the x-rays. Pointed me to a possible risk of wisdom teeth with whom I have had the problem in the folowing weeks therefore I visited office of the doctor again! It was a complicated case that required surgery procedure and therefore he recommend me another doctor, Dr. Ronald Biondo, in the same building. Dr. Pollak arranged appointment for me, escorted me to the office of his colleague and participated on consultation of my case! Day after the surgery he personally called to make sure that everything is all right. Can not recommend nobody more! read more

I bought a groupon for a first appointment with Dr. Pollak and it was beyond worth it. Go for it. I had a great cleaning, I really liked my hygienist, she was super sweet and friendly. Then she introduced me to Dr. Pollak who clearly loves what he does. He spoke to me very passionately about teeth. They found one new tiny cavity, and that my oldest filling was damaged and needed to be replaced... and I'll be honest, at first I thought, ah how do I know you are telling me the truth. But then Dr. Pollak showed me the two spots they were talking about (which no other dentist has ever done) and I could see the dark spots in my teeth. Why don't other dentists do this? SO I made a follow up appointment to get the two spots taken care of yesterday. When I went in I was so nervous, I knew it was irrational, but I just was. Dr. Pollak was so great. He chatted with me and made sweet little corny jokes, and numbed my mouth with a an ointment so I didn't feel the novocain needle going in, and gave me time to get numb. He gave me a hand mirror and showed me the dark spots. Then he drilled the first one, gave me another look/told me to feel it with my tongue, then filled it in. Then he did the 2nd and let me watch (with the hand mirror) as he used the different compounds to fill it in. It was fascinating. Although we live in another large city and could receive services from local people, our family travels over 150 miles each way to see Dr. Pollak. We have been doing this for twenty years and have consulted him even when we have had other dental plans. We've had significant dental work done over the years, and we have always found his work to be superior. Dr. Pollak does not just 'do' teeth. He explains what he is doing, why he is doing it, and what alternatives his clients have, so that his clients feel like partners and in control of their treatment. Dental appointments are no picnic, but I find myself looking forward to visits. He does not just know us by name; he personally greets us when we arrive.His secretarial and hygienist staff are friendly and welcoming and his office is always neat, cosy and well stocked with magazines and the small pleasantries that make for a good experience. I can't recommend dr pollak enough my insurance doesnt cover him but i pay at cost hundreds to go to him because of how he does business. He saved 2 of my teeth due to a bad dentist i was seeing So i heard about dr pollak and when i just went to see him for a inspection he told me i have a filling that was leaking. And he pointed out where and showed me the tooth was GREY when i went to my old dentist a week earlier and was never told anything about this. And my other tooth dr pollak managed to to fix without pulling it which would have been what the other dentist would have done. Dental work is super expensive...THIS IS WHY ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND BOTH APPRECIATE DR. POLLAK because he takes the time every session to explain whats really going on in our mouth in hopes to save us lots of money, time, and pain. I took my 91 year old mother to Dr. Pollak with a front tooth broken out of her denture that she had worn for years. I fully expected Dr. Pollak to tell us we had to start from scratch and get a completely new bridge which would cost us a lot of time and money, not to mention the fact that my mother hates going to the dentist and was dreading giving up her comfortable and well worn bridge. I was pleasantly surprised when he called us the day before our appointment to see if we could come in 30 minutes later because he had an emergency he was going to have to fit in and he didn't want to make us to wait! When we arrived he came out and greeted my mother personally, and in the room we were delighted to find that he could replace the single tooth that was missing and that she could leave for our family vacation the next day with a beautifully restored smile! After examining the bridge carefully, he said that it was in good condition and that there was no reason to get a new one yet! WOW! My mother was thrilled and I was greatly relieved. We learned that Dr. Pollak was a dental lab technician before he went to dental school, so he understands dentures and bridges and is able to create a comfortable fitting denture and can do things that most dentists have to send out to a lab to do. He is extremely caring for his patients (we talked to a patient in the waiting room that had been his patient for years and said that all of his friends go to Dr. Pollak and they all loved him). He is also really good with senior citizens, and as the caretaker of my mother that goes a long way!
