My favorite group of professionals I've never had such a pleasant and involved dental office. Quality service - So clean and they get you in and out! 5 stars P.S Grace and Jenny read more

I went in for a consultation regarding gum grafting and had a very positive experience overall. From start to finish, the process was incredibly smooth, and everyone I interacted with was kind, professional, and welcoming. The consultation was thorough, and everything was explained clearly, which I really appreciated. I also valued the upfront and transparent pricing. The only concern I had was being told I would need a deep cleaning prior to the gum grafting, which differs from what my regular dentist has advised. Aside from that discrepancy, I was very happy with the level of care, communication, and overall service. read more

Seriously, all the amazing staff make this dentistry practice very special -- both Dr. Rong and Dr. Kong are really really skilled (they are so efficient!) and also very empathetic. Pooja, who works at the front desk, is so friendly and welcoming. The care here is very personal and warm, I can't imagine a better dentistry practice honestly! read more

Traveled from the west coast to see Dr Kong and would do it again. Great bedside manner, meticulous work, took his time with excellent care. I was a little nervous about the procedure, but felt 100% comfortable that Dr Kong was my doctor. Jenny in the front was very communicative and made the whole scheduling process smooth. Dr Kong was thorough in his explanation as well as detailed and care throughout the whole procedure and post-op care instructions, making sure I was comfortable the whole time. Very beautiful and clean office 10/10 read more

When I met Dr. Chris Rong, he patiently listened to my situation and his priority was to get me out of pain. Dr. Rong is a skilled dentist who asks questions and takes the appropriate steps to identify the issue. He is an exceptionally caring professional who is generous with his time, listens to my concerns and is receptive to my feedback. I came into Dr. Kong's office for a fairly moderate procedure that required multiple visits between this Manhattan and Queens locations and I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Kong and his staff! First of all, his staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm normally high strung and anxious at medical offices but his staff made me feel very comfortable and at peace every second that I was there. They were also quick to respond via email and were able to answer all my questions including those related to insurance. You can tell right away that Dr. Kong cares about his patients as he takes the time to explain the issue, the procedure that will be needed to address the issue and then the recovery. He's extremely knowledgeable and the procedure could not have gone any smoother. I'm in a much better place now that I went to Dr. Kong. I highly recommend Dr. Kong in both his locations! read more

I am writing this at the risk of sounding like a bad commercial or someone who works for the company- I don't. I just need to express how grateful I am to have found such a wonderful dentist that cares about their patients. The mere thought of going to visit a doctor raises my blood pressure significantly. I am squeamish beyond words and it's not uncommon for me to feel faint even during a consultation. I had my first visit/experience with Beter Living through Dentistry back in September 2021. I had a complete examination and dental work done by Dr. Kong and I was simply blown away by his professionalism, knowledge, and kind demeanor. I was ever so grateful for his patience and the ease with which he made my experience. My visit with Dr. Kong was certainly a great introduction to this dental office, but I can honestly say I did not presuppose I would have such consistent care during my subsequent visits. My most recent visit required me to see Dr. Rong. I was in complete awe of Dr. Rong! His knowledge, grace, and bedside manner went far beyond my expectations of any professional. In short, I can say that Better Living through Dentistry, is the quintessential healthcare company. The professionalism showed from the Office Manager, Pooja to the dental assistants and dentists- I am not only grateful for their service but inspired by their desire to simply care. Thank you all at Better Living through Dentistry! --alvin. read more

I would recommend Better Living Through Dentistry for several reasons: Knowledgeable and empathic dentist: Dr. Christopher Rong not only fixed my challenging teeth but cured my fear of dentists. I have a weak jaw and need frequent breaks, which he willingly accommodated. He has great bedside manners and takes the time to explain the treatment plan, which eases a lot of my anxiety. Great dental team: The assistant Edda was incredibly gentle and attentive, and the office manager Pooja has a great understanding of insurance and made me feel right at home. Office space: The office is intimate yet feels upscale, and the building itself has a doorman and security, which elevates the experience. Online portal: Lastly, the office utilizes a quick and easy electronic portal which allowed me to sign all my intake paperwork electronically prior to the appointment, and displays informational videos about oral health and procedures. Streamlines my appointments and any paperwork that needs to be completed. read more

A year later and with the full mouth dental implant process complete, I would like to restate how satisfied I am with the care I received from Dr Kong. The timeline and costs were always clear from start to finish. So grateful to Dr Kong and his office. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Kong's practice every since back in 2017 originally in the Kew Gardens location. I've always had great experience with him and his staff that I decided to continue visit his practice for my dental needs even after I moved out to NJ across the river. I would have to say I really like how efficient this place is run, I never had to wait more than a few minutes every time I visit here and the both the dentist and hygienists are always quite punctual. The location is quite accessible too, only about 5-7 minute walk from 72nd station. When I was having some fillings done I was quite pleasantly surprised on the office manager actually verifying with my insurance to give an accurate out of pocket estimate few days before my procedures to avoid any financial surprises. That was quite the plus as I've had dental implants done at other places before and even those I've only gotten estimates. Dr. Kong have always been pretty straight forward with me regarding the services I need or require and I never felt pressured to proceed. Most of my visits since I got my other dental implant with his practice back in 2018 has been quite routine but I've always remembered how personalized experience I felt during my dental implant procedures. Its definitely a very different feel vs the larger dental practices I've been to when I was living on Long Island and out further west NJ. Definitely highly recommend Dr. Kong for your dentistry needs. read more

Dr. Kong and his staff are absolutely wonderful. I was seeking a dentist for a regular cleaning, but I also needed a periodontist as my last dentist informed me that I should see one for some excesssive gum recession. I was amazed that I not only found one, but that I also had such a positive experience. Pooja at the front desk is very hospitable and easy to talk to. When it came to discussing the the insurance benefits, she was very clear and thorough. I really felt like if anything were to go wrong she'd provide the support I needed with the insurance company. The cleaning and the gum graft surgery that I ended up getting were a breeze. I'm not one who has much of a problem with dentists, but I can't imagine that anyone would with Dr. Kong. His explanation of procedures and his continual check ins during the surgery and even during the cleaning were sincere. After my surgery Dr. Kong made himself accessible in case I needed anything while the office was closed. His hygienist, Edda, was similarly very nice and has been every time I've had an appointment. Whether you're looking for a dentist for a regular cleaning or you are in need of a periodontist, I'd highly recommend Better Living Through Dentistry. read more

I have been so happy with the care I've received from Dr. Kong and the entire team at Better Living through Dentistry! The staff is so kind, thorough, and prompt (I've never waited for an appointment), and my teeth and gums have never felt better. Given that I come in very frequently, they've also been sure to to make sure that I'm accommodated in the midst of COVID-19. I really couldn't recommend them highly enough! read more

Having been a patient of Dr Kong's for a few years, I've been meaning to write a review. It's such a gift in Manhattan when you find a doctor who makes getting a check-up a pleasant experience, especially the dentist! Dr Kong's office is convenient, modern and spotless, and always welcoming. Dr Kong and his hygienists are thorough and professional, and I love the bright sunny rooms with views of the trees and the Upper West Side. I never feel rushed at my appointments and find the staff highly professional. They are also never pushy in trying to up-sell products or services to me.  What makes this practice surprisingly special is Dr Kong's magic Office Manager Pooja Sharma. Pooja runs an incredibly tight ship. She is incredibly diligent at ensuring appointment reminders are sent, and is always helpful on the phone for any query. She is also highly skilled on all matters insurance and does an excellent job in advocating on behalf of clients and providing advice. Best of all, she makes coming to the office a total delight. The woman is hilarious and seriously deserves her own Netflix special. Her humor is sharper and funnier than that of many stand-ups we've paid good money to see in NYC. Both my husband (who is also a patient) and I thoroughly enjoy speaking (and laughing) with her and always have funny stories to tell after our visits. On arrival, there is always a candle burning, herbal tea available and appealing magazines, although by the time you take your jacket off and sit down the team is ready to see you. I've never been kept waiting. When you're ready to leave, Pooja sends you off with a delightful farewell. You actually feel happy after the visit, amazing! Thank you to this practice for taking such good care of us. We miss you and look forward to our next visits once your normal hours resume. read more

My entire experience at Better Living Through Dentistry has been very good. The whole team has been kind, efficient, and pleasant. Dr. Kong has been my dentist for several year now and I couldn't be happier! He is very knowledgeable, has a light hand and very fast. But I especially like that he doesn't over treat or tries to sell you more expensive procedures you don't need or are damaging. He is a doctor with experience and integrity who is fantastic at his job! He also recommended me to several specialists to assist my difficult case and I was able to completely avoid wearing metal braces when others told me I had no choice. Dr. Kong worked on my case with other doctors for months and he is always available to speak with me on the phone to alleviate any concerns. I can't recommend him more. See him - you won't regret it!!!! His office is nice too and administration takes care of your billing. My husband and I always feel at home when we go there. read more

Best dentist I've been to, hands down. Amazing staff, no wait time, and extremely professional. I go in for cleanings and have gotten a gum graft in the past. They also are very thorough in advance of what your insurance covers, which I've rarely experienced from a medical office. And fun fact - the office manager, Pooja, has an incredible knowledge of Korean films and is great at recommendations. :) read more

Hadn't been to dentist in over a decade. Lots of issues that I kept ignoring. This office helped me make up for all that neglect. All the while doing so without judgement and making me feel comfortable. Dr. Kong and the Office manager, Pooja, took it one step at a time with me and I always felt they were concerned for my wallet as well as my health. I never felt like they were recommending treatment that wasn't right for me or wasn't necessary. In the end, after over a year of being their patient, I've received 3 extractions, 3 implants, and all the cleanings and checkups in between. My teeth look like they did 20 years ago! read more

Better Living Through Dentistry comes through for me again, I was so nervous about my dental implant (watched too many you tube videos!) but Dr. Kong made this procedure so pleasant, he is very meticulous in his work from the placement of the implant to his sewing skills! Great dentist! I've never had to wait for an appointment and they were very accommodating of my busy schedule. On my first day, Dr. Kong created a comprehensive dental plan for me, and was able to begin treatment immediately. Dr. Kong has been my dentist for years. Dr. Kong is an excellent periodontist-he's done my implants as well as other complex issues that I have had over the years. I've recently started going to his upper west side office. The upper west side office is incredible-actually feels like a spa when you walked in (certainly not what you think when visiting the dentist). The calming effect of the office perfectly fits Dr. Kong's calming demeanor, and attention to detail. read more

My visit to Dr.Kong was excellent as always. He is warm, friendly and concerned about how I am feeling. I had a dental implant placed and it's so clear that he is a dentist who really knows his stuff! I went to Dr. Kong for a second opinion. Even though I showed up really, really late for my appt (mainly because I was an idiot and typed in the wrong address into Google Maps), Dr. Kong and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pooja, who helped me set up my appt over the phone, even took the time to explain some of my insurance coverage to me and was overall AWESOME and by far one of the most competent and customer-oriented office managers I've seen at any dentist's or doctor's office. Dr. Kong was also nice and efficient and very good at explaining my perio numbers. He definitely looked like he knew what he was doing. He told me my gums were fine and that I could just continue with my regular cleanings with my current dentist. Although I'm happy I won't have to return to the office (at least for now), I now know who to recommend should anyone I know need a periodontist! read more

I think I've been to the dentist in the last two months more than I've been in my life. I had an emergency so I looked for dentists near my apartment. I found Dr. Kong on Google and Yelp and made an appointment (he took me on the day I requested, two days after I called). I sat in the chair crying from fear and embarrassment, but he and his staff really calmed me down. I've since been back four times - and have no fear anymore. Also I've never waited more than five minutes in the waiting room and I don't have to wait a month for an appointment. Highly recommended! :) read more

One of the things I hate to do in life in to go to the dentist. I am always afraid of them and what they will do to my teeth! I've had experience with a handful of dentists throughout my life and I have never come across a dentist quite like Dr. Kong who is very skilled, knowledgeable, and has incredible bedside manners. His office is immaculate and relaxing...that's right--you heard me right--RELAXING. His office in Manhattan--in the upper west side--reminds me of a spa. From the relaxing music to the friendly receptionist, to the clean, modern waiting room, not to mention the massage dental chairs... I was really put at ease by Dr. Kong when I went in to get a dental implant. He took his time to explain everything-- I mean EVERYTHING to me-- what he was going to do and why, and how... no other dentist has ever taken the time to ever really explain dental procedures to me before. Also, it was very reassuring to know that he is a periodontist who specializes in these types of dental work. He is truly skilled at what he does-- he is the best dentist! read more
