I came into Dr. Kong's office for a fairly moderate procedure that required multiple visits between this Manhattan and Queens locations and I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Kong and his staff! First of all, his staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm normally high strung and anxious at medical offices but his staff made me feel very comfortable and at peace every second that I was there. They were also quick to respond via email and were able to answer all my questions including those related to insurance. You can tell right away that Dr. Kong cares about his patients as he takes the time to explain the issue, the procedure that will be needed to address the issue and then the recovery. I've been coming to Dr. Kong's practice every since back in 2017 originally in the Kew Gardens location. I've always had great experience with him and his staff that I decided to continue visit his practice for my dental needs even after I moved out to NJ across the river. I would have to say I really like how efficient this place is run, I never had to wait more than a few minutes every time I visit here and the both the dentist and hygienists are always quite punctual. The location is quite accessible too, only about 5-7 minute walk from 72nd station. When I was having some fillings done I was quite pleasantly surprised on the office manager actually verifying with my insurance to give an accurate out of pocket estimate few days before my procedures to avoid any financial surprises. That was quite the plus as I've had dental implants done at other places before and even those I've only gotten estimates. Dr. Kong have always been pretty straight forward with me regarding the services I need or require and I never felt pressured to proceed. Most of my visits since I got my other dental implant with his practice back in 2018 has been quite routine but I've always remembered how personalized experience I felt during my dental implant procedures. Its definitely a very different feel vs the larger dental practices I've been to when I was living on Long Island and out further west NJ. Dr. Kong and his staff are absolutely wonderful. I was seeking a dentist for a regular cleaning, but I also needed a periodontist as my last dentist informed me that I should see one for some excesssive gum recession. I was amazed that I not only found one, but that I also had such a positive experience. Pooja at the front desk is very hospitable and easy to talk to. When it came to discussing the the insurance benefits, she was very clear and thorough. I really felt like if anything were to go wrong she'd provide the support I needed with the insurance company. The cleaning and the gum graft surgery that I ended up getting were a breeze. I'm not one who has much of a problem with dentists, but I can't imagine that anyone would with Dr. Kong. His explanation of procedures and his continual check ins during the surgery and even during the cleaning were sincere. After my surgery Dr. Kong made himself accessible in case I needed anything while the office was closed. His hygienist, Edda, was similarly very nice and has been every time I've had an appointment. Having been a patient of Dr Kong's for a few years, I've been meaning to write a review. It's such a gift in Manhattan when you find a doctor who makes getting a check-up a pleasant experience, especially the dentist! Dr Kong's office is convenient, modern and spotless, and always welcoming. Dr Kong and his hygienists are thorough and professional, and I love the bright sunny rooms with views of the trees and the Upper West Side. I never feel rushed at my appointments and find the staff highly professional. They are also never pushy in trying to up-sell products or services to me.  What makes this practice surprisingly special is Dr Kong's magic Office Manager Pooja Sharma. Pooja runs an incredibly tight ship. She is incredibly diligent at ensuring appointment reminders are sent, and is always helpful on the phone for any query. She is also highly skilled on all matters insurance and does an excellent job in advocating on behalf of clients and providing advice. Best of all, she makes coming to the office a total delight. The woman is hilarious and seriously deserves her own Netflix special. Her humor is sharper and funnier than that of many stand-ups we've paid good money to see in NYC. Both my husband (who is also a patient) and I thoroughly enjoy speaking (and laughing) with her and always have funny stories to tell after our visits. On arrival, there is always a candle burning, herbal tea available and appealing magazines, although by the time you take your jacket off and sit down the team is ready to see you. I've never been kept waiting. When you're ready to leave, Pooja sends you off with a delightful farewell. You actually feel happy after the visit, amazing! Dr. Kong has been my dentist for several year now and I couldn't be happier! He is very knowledgeable, has a light hand and very fast. But I especially like that he doesn't over treat or tries to sell you more expensive procedures you don't need or are damaging. He is a doctor with experience and integrity who is fantastic at his job! He also recommended me to several specialists to assist my difficult case and I was able to completely avoid wearing metal braces when others told me I had no choice. Dr. Kong worked on my case with other doctors for months and he is always available to speak with me on the phone to alleviate any concerns. I can't recommend him more. Hadn't been to dentist in over a decade. Lots of issues that I kept ignoring. This office helped me make up for all that neglect. All the while doing so without judgement and making me feel comfortable. I went to Dr. Kong for a second opinion. Even though I showed up really, really late for my appt (mainly because I was an idiot and typed in the wrong address into Google Maps), Dr. Kong and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pooja, who helped me set up my appt over the phone, even took the time to explain some of my insurance coverage to me and was overall AWESOME and by far one of the most competent and customer-oriented office managers I've seen at any dentist's or doctor's office. He told me my gums were fine and that I could just continue with my regular cleanings with my current dentist. I think I've been to the dentist in the last two months more than I've been in my life. I had an emergency so I looked for dentists near my apartment. I found Dr. Kong on Google and Yelp and made an appointment (he took me on the day I requested, two days after I called). I sat in the chair crying from fear and embarrassment, but he and his staff really calmed me down. I've since been back four times - and have no fear anymore. Dr Kong is the best dentist that I've ever been to, and I've been to many. He'll be my dentist as long as I live in or near NYC. He's got a great personality and he clearly explain everything, always taking time to answer questions. Both of his offices are run very efficiently and I never need to wait past my scheduled time.
