This little off-the-beaten path place was absolutely fabulous! This place comes up as the top eatery near my work and now I know why. First, the place is very unassuming, looks like any other roadside diner. There were not many people there when I arrived, so the service was attentive and FAST! I ordered a burger because that was what many of the reviewers recommended, but they did have a daily meatloaf special, which sounded great...but I came for a burger. I ordered the Fried Mushroom Burger which came with Swiss cheese and all the toppings. When my plate was delivered (again...VERY fast), I like to start with the fries as they are at their hottest. These fries were fresh, not frozen, giving them a sense of "made at home"...and they came with a garlic Parmesan seasoning that kicked them up a notch. The burger was the star of the show with out a doubt. It was BIG and so incredibly juicy and flavorful. The nurse was cooked perfectly with just a little warm pink and had a nice crust, the fried mushrooms on top were a really nice compliment to the burger and really added to the overall flavor profile. Very enjoyable burger and fries...I will most certainly be back...going off the beaten path was SO worth it!!! Highly recommend if you're in this area!!! read more

On the way to a game with hubby and son, and wanted to try something new. We were not disappointed! This is a small business, reminds me of a Midwest Mom and Pop restaurant. There are a couple tables inside and some picnic tables outside. They greeted us and had us sit wherever. They bring you menus to the table and take your order. POP's are can and there are no free refills. They have bottled water and their koolaide comes in a small pitcher. Hubby said it was good! Bring your appetite. I had the smallest burger and it tasted huge. The fries are fresh cut! Hubby had the patty melt and tater tots and my son had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. My husband had the Charles Barkley Burger this time (2enchiladas,rice,beans,cheese,and a tostada with lettuce,tomato,pickles,and a hamburger patty) and OMG is it huge! Just look at it!!! I will start with, the food at the IH35 location is great and everyone really should try it, however the service is lacking and overshadowed my entire experience. We walked into the restaurant where all the tables inside were full on a Saturday afternoon. We walked up to the counter really unsure of how to order and were told to find a seat outside and someone would help us. We found a table where a very nice man quickly came over and cleaned off the table and told us someone would be with us shortly. A waitress came out a total of 4 times and each time looked over at our table and the table behind us that hadn't been helped as well. She never came to us to take our order and instead carried on ignoring both tables. After 20 minutes of waiting I went inside to just place an order and saw the cashier talk to the waitress and look in my direction and the man behind me that hadn't been helped either. At this point both tables got helped after only going inside to place the orders ourselves. Yes, they were busy but the service here sucks, plain and simple. The food though is amazing! The burger is great and the fries and onion rings are homemade which were amazing! Would I be back, yes... maybe, but just for the food. Sadly I'm pretty disappointed in my experience as I used to rave about the south side location to anyone looking for a good burger. read more

A Southside surprise! This little shack doesn't look like much on the outside but Wow! There's magic happening on the inside! There's a confident, welcoming energy upon entering with just a few tables and chairs. A friendly greeting follows as we're seated. The menu shows variety but I went for the cheeseburger. And it did not disappoint! It was AMAZING!! It was fresh, juicy, delicious and enormous!! The bacon was crispy, the cheese was gooey. So much flavor. The tater tots were mind blowing! Everything went up a dollar and if you would have read the sign posted outside of the door you would have known that!! No I'm sorry or I do apologize but the prices have changed and the menus are incorrect. NOTHING!! Just pay it basically. I didn't realize my wife was complaining about the bill or I would have made her ring it again so I could see for myself what she was ringing up. But my wife had already paid the bill and there was nothing I could after that. I get it prices have changed but please advise your staff to maybe mention that when your customers sit down to order. The way that waitress treated us was wrong and at the end of day customer service is what matters the most. She must of included her tip on our overcharged bill. Listened learn!! We went there to try their Chicken Fried Steak ( as seen on TV) and we drove as least 35-40 minutes only to be told they only serve it on special days and the waitresses couldn't tell us when that was.
