(Once) "No onions, sir?" (that's twice) "Correct, no onions, I just can't handle the onions today (now three times)." I fist pound the chest and say "Yeah, I'll be in trouble later, so I better not do the onions, now (that makes four times I say no onions) Once made, my sub gets passed to the next lady to finish up the add-ons. I tell her everything but peppers and onions. She tells me with a slight hesitation the sandwich is riddled with onions. Did the first woman fail to understand english? They may have a problem going forward. I was confused but didn't want to be rude. The second, slightly older woman, remade the whole sandwich, very quickly and pointed out the mistake to the first sandwich maker. Here's the observation part: the guy after us said he'd be peeved! I was thinking it was hilarious, ya know, like an Abbot & Costello routine. Now, thinking back on it, hoping she's not in trouble for misunderstanding and wasting a sandwich. Maybe I should have just ate the onions? As it turns out, I think I received a Queso Philly sandwich-minus the peppers and onions. Also signed up and suppose to get $5.00 off the next sandwich. By the time I arrived they were bagging it. Order was correct- Split the sandwich and it was very filling.. I saw them prepping but wasn't sure if you can get the sandwich in a bowl.. which I wouldn't mind trying- I do like the offering of variety of sandwiches.. Looking forward to another sandwich day!

Figured it to be another fad restaurant that would slowly fade away (like 5 guys should..yuk!). Not really a big sandwich person most of the tme. But I still remember my first time walking into one. It was my first visit where I knew I had it all wrong! I ate there a bunch of times after, because I worked in the same strip mall. Next to Hello Deli which is located in Vista California, and Quiznos, Jersey Mike's is the best sub shop out there! So first I'll say, I haven't had Jersey Mike's in a couple of years at least, and I was delighted to realize that my points have never expired! Matter of fact, after my purchase today, I already have an upcoming reward. So let's get to the review of this particular location by Scheels. I came in on a Sunday around 2 O'Clock or so, and they were pretty busy. Most of the tables taken by eager patrons. Two girls behind the counter and one guy behind the flat top. After using the restroom to wash my hands because I've been working with chemicals (which was clean for the most part) I got in line to make my order. I only had one girl in front of me and then two more customers behind me. I don't understand everyone's angst with the amount of time that it takes. I mean they have to slice the meat and cheese, it's not like walking into 7-Eleven and grabbing one of those rat sandwiches from the bunker fridge. So yeah it took a little bit of time, But I'm not in a hurry, not like I have an appointment with the president or something today. The first girl got my order started. I ordered a giant number 13 with roast beef. She started on two customers sandwiches that were in line behind me. Yes, efficient for them, and no I didn't mind. Now I've been told I have sort of an intimidating presence. The next girl who finished assembling my sandwich was either slightly disorganized, new or maybe nervous. I had to ask her a few times for the same things on my sandwich, and it seemed like she was trying to rush me through because she got immediately to the juice and was about to button my sandwich up when I had to ask her for mayonnaise and relish. But she pulled it through and got it done, got my sandwich, took it home and ate half, and willl probably eat the other half today. I think my total time in line was maybe 10 minutes? Anyhow, the sandwich was great, I got a freebie coming up, and it was nice to have a Jersey Mike's sub after all these years. Luckily, the ones here at Slim Chickens are fresh and well seasoned, and it come with a range of delicious Housemade sauces that made for a great experience each time. Unintentionally the spot has become our go to value meal when the kids are pleading for us to take them out for lunch for dinner. The Sunday special where a kid meal is $1.99 with the purchase of an adult meal has become a once a month treat. Having the app also has exposed to other unique offerings and their newest menu addition too. They've been doing a lot of solid digital marketing in the general vicinity as well and I often find great value offerings through that channel as well. Most recently that was discovering the 20 piece boneless Hall, which for $10 was enough to feed both of my kids or me a little snack and one of the kids as well. Four stars is because sometimes the offerings shown online are a little tricky to find either in the app or at the kiosk in store. I've had to start orders on the kiosk, then abandoned them and then head to the cash register where the friendly staff is more than willing to jump in and help me locate exactly what I'm talking about. They've never seemed to not know about a promotion which I do really appreciate. The chicken tenders are usually well cooked and crispy and juicy, but I do find them a bit on the salty side personally, some of the sauce is also fall a little bit flat. I tried the cayenne ranch last visit and thought it barely had a kick or any flavor beyond being just a loser style ranch dressing. The fries are really weird. I think they need some work unless I say something specifically I feel like I always get the end of the bachelorette prize they're warm, not hot but they're limp and often quite greasy if I ask them well done or Crispy I feel like they get overcooked so I just don't know at this point how to best enjoy the french fries here. All that service is always 100% and the staff is always able to put a smile on your face. My kids ripped through the sauces and the staff never hesitate to hook them up with extra one or two and they always treat them with the same respect, they would treat us at the counter, which I greatly appreciate. Again, I'm very solid addition to self Reno from Guy Wootan. I'm happy my kids dragged me in the first time and will continue to visit in the future.

It was gone in a few bites. For reference, the sauce cups are the small sauce cups that hold maybe a tablespoon of sauce. The wrap was barely the size of a snack wrap. Do with that what you will. Kind of a rip off.
