#1 in the world? Could be... Asia has lots of people. But not sure which metric they use. I question the veracity of this statement
Steve R.

I'm reporting about Charley's Cheesesteaks in Reno mall. They claim to be worlds greatest cheesesteaks. As a person who has been to Philadelphia a few times (definitely recommend visiting during the 4th of July) I have to say that this place leaves a few things to be desired. First the meat is plentiful. I mean the bread could hardly wrap around it. If you're going to fry meat and cheese together it's going to be moist. On the east coast bread is kind of their thing. There's definitely more bread than steak in their sandwiches and the seasoning saltiness is more from the cheese than anything added to the steak. Cheese wiz for the connoisseur. There's just too much going on at Charley's. Now to be fair, it's not a bad choice is you want to fill up on protein. It may be the best cheesesteak in that food court. May also be the best cheesesteak in the meadowood mall. But I'm betting it's not exactly the best cheesesteak on the McCarran loop, or even Reno. False advertising. It's like trying to say you sell the best cheesecake but if you're not in New York I'd begin to have my doubts. Interesting experience but certainly not the best in the world.

I'm obsessed with this place. I had the old school cheesesteak and loaded fries! We tried a few places before this wonderful place but we're very disappointed. Thankfully we found this spot last week and this is our 2nd time ordering. It's so good and fresh! This is my new cheat day eating spot

Great and fresh sandwiches and fried so many options for drinks. The service at Charley's is amazing they gave me so many options for what to eat and what to eat in the future.

Cheese "sauce" is weirdly lumpy.

We were getting hangry from shopping in 103 degree weather and needed some food NOW. The mall food court's Asian selections looked unappetizing and I noticed the bacon on the fries at Charleys so we decided on that. Staff was nice. I wanted to spend my carb budget on dem fries so I asked for no bun. They offered a bed of lettuce. Thanks register teenager! The cheesesteak was dry yet flavorful. The fries were delicious yet the cheese "sauce" was weirdly lumpy. It was pretty much what you would expect from a mall food court cheesesteak place. (Note: Yelp is telling me that my review is "average length". I think I will end it here since Charleys seems to be your average food court joint.)

I was a bit hesitant to go here based on the reviews but I was craving a philly steak There was a long line that they went through very quickly Ricardo made my sandwich and was professional and courteous My sandwich was 6.50 and I think this is a fair price. You can add toppings for free Or drink and fries for a meal for extra I'm very pleased with my experience and the sandwich was as delicious as I'd hoped!

This place offers the only cheesesteak option in the food court at the Meadowood Mall, so the business is great for variety and, I must say, I love a good cheesesteak. They have several options for different kinds of cheesesteak sandwiches, so that's great also. I ordered the BBQ cheddar cheesesteak and it was delicious. However, I feel bad for the people working here. It's obvious that they don't enjoy what they do, which is why the customer service sucks. The cashier had a very flat personality and uninspiring attitude, and was ready to move me along as soon as I paid. I expected to be able to leave a tip on my receipt, but surprisingly, the receipt was one and done and the cashier made no attempt to make it easier for me to tip, nor did I find a collection bin to do so with. The cook, a big, black guy, was at the grill cooking up the orders, but save for the fact that he was facing us, I'm not sure he even knew we were there. He never smiled once, nor acknowledged us right in front of him (the grill is part of the counter facing the customers). I was a little disappointed in my order. I ordered a BBQ cheddar cheesesteak, but noticed that it was not a real slice of cheddar cheese put on the steak, but instead, it was shredded cheese sprinkled on top. Any excitement I had for my cheesesteak was halved at that moment. There is an older lady who works at the end of the counter to distribute orders. Her personality was a little more upbeat and she was probably the best part of the customer service experience, but even then, it was lacking. I know I love my job and I go above and beyond to do a great job for my clients, so it really just breaks my heart to see someone doing a job they don't love, and doing it without cause for care. Overall, this place offers a good tasting cheesesteak, but the service issues leave it with only two stars.

Small chicken philly and fries!

Very helpful! I didn't know what veggies or sauce would go with my philly. They gave great recommendations and made sure the sandwiches were yummy.

Packed to-go very nicely!

I had the California chicken sandwich and it was to die for, even though it's just a little court food action.

I've heard from friends that the move here is ordering it with provolone instead, so I'll definitely be trying that next time. I also grabbed the mozzarella sticks, pretty standard, but they held me over until we got home. The ladies running the truck were incredibly nice, too. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.

Excited to go, I ordered two #4 Cheesesteaks (onions, peppers and mushrooms) and a regular order of fries. I Waited with excitement for 45 minutes! Total with tip $47.41. Got home to enjoy the sandwiches and was totally disappointed. Very little cheese, hot dog type tiny onions, maybe two small pepper slivers and a couple mushrooms. The other sandwich was the same. The small amount of meat was flavorless and full of gristle. My wife could not finish her sandwich. Man, I must have got the bottom of the barrel. The small handful order of skinny french fries was greasy and cold. I gave 3 stars because the service was fantastic! The two ladies were working their asses off. I'm sorry ladies but I will not return. Jersey Mike's kahuna cheesesteak has been my go to.

The have a QR code that takes you to everything they currently have and items to look forward to in the future. A few days later I returned to try the food. You can order at the counter or inside at the huge kiosks. Two of us ordered the Pardon My Cheesesteak and a double-up fries, one person ordered a cheeseburger and my sister ordered an Asian bowl with potstickers. They were out of several choices on the bowls. We split 2 orders of churros for dessert. The $11 cheesesteaks were small but pretty good. The cheeseburger was pretty good too. The Asian food was not that good, lacking flavor and proper texture. The menu has international variety, loads of choices with prices closer to restaurant meals because you order sides separately. It seemed like there was combo pricing on the website, but were hard to find on the kiosk. It looks like there is a much bigger menu to come. The wait at the counter would have been way too long. It seemed like one person knew how to do everything and everyone else was lost. The food came out about 15 minutes (not "fast"). The employee tried to leave out one of the orders of fries because ticket didn't reflect that we ordered and paid for the "double-up" order. He did offer sauces and a smile. Hopefully there will be a trained staff by the time the menu expands and the word gets out that there is food available when shopping at this busy Walmart.

This was my high school gas station, so I was stoked to see they had a decent sandwich place with a bar and seating available inside. Service was great! The kid behind the counter was working solo and he was super friendly and helpful. He did inform me that he was out of dutch crunch, lettuce and peppers. I was bummed because that was one of the reasons I wanted to try this sandwich spot. Our sandwiches were good, just not worth the $29 I paid for them. For these two and the lack of toppings and meat were disappointing. It was still a good sandwich just not what we were expecting. I paid $13.99 for the 775 and $11.99 for Cassius Clay and both are on the website for a $1 less. If you're going to hike your prices; have produce. I wouldn't pay for that ever again. It's so messy you can't pick it up and eat it has to be eaten with a fork and knife and the meatballs are really lacking and cut in half for some reason. It was fairly fast to receive our food. I ordered the large pizza but I think they gave us a party pizza. The cheese was nice and gooey on the pizza and the toppings were plentiful. I wish it had been a little crispier. My friend got the meatball sandwich and it was a little heavy on the sauce for her liking. The cheesy fries were super good and made with real melted cheese which made them perfect. As we begun to eat all of a sudden the college kids started to come in large groups- nonstop.
