#1 in the world? Could be... Asia has lots of people. But not sure which metric they use. I question the veracity of this statement

I'm reporting about Charley's Cheesesteaks in Reno mall. They claim to be worlds greatest cheesesteaks. As a person who has been to Philadelphia a few times (definitely recommend visiting during the 4th of July) I have to say that this place leaves a few things to be desired. First the meat is plentiful. I mean the bread could hardly wrap around it. If you're going to fry meat and cheese together it's going to be moist. On the east coast bread is kind of their thing. There's definitely more bread than steak in their sandwiches and the seasoning saltiness is more from the cheese than anything added to the steak. Cheese wiz for the connoisseur. There's just too much going on at Charley's. Now to be fair, it's not a bad choice is you want to fill up on protein. It may be the best cheesesteak in that food court. May also be the best cheesesteak in the meadowood mall. But I'm betting it's not exactly the best cheesesteak on the McCarran loop, or even Reno. False advertising. It's like trying to say you sell the best cheesecake but if you're not in New York I'd begin to have my doubts. Interesting experience but certainly not the best in the world.

I'm obsessed with this place. I had the old school cheesesteak and loaded fries! We tried a few places before this wonderful place but we're very disappointed. Thankfully we found this spot last week and this is our 2nd time ordering. It's so good and fresh! This is my new cheat day eating spot

Great and fresh sandwiches and fried so many options for drinks. The service at Charley's is amazing they gave me so many options for what to eat and what to eat in the future.

    Cheese "sauce" is weirdly lumpy.

We were getting hangry from shopping in 103 degree weather and needed some food NOW. The mall food court's Asian selections looked unappetizing and I noticed the bacon on the fries at Charleys so we decided on that. Staff was nice. I wanted to spend my carb budget on dem fries so I asked for no bun. They offered a bed of lettuce. Thanks register teenager! The cheesesteak was dry yet flavorful. The fries were delicious yet the cheese "sauce" was weirdly lumpy. It was pretty much what you would expect from a mall food court cheesesteak place. (Note: Yelp is telling me that my review is "average length". I think I will end it here since Charleys seems to be your average food court joint.)

I was a bit hesitant to go here based on the reviews but I was craving a philly steak There was a long line that they went through very quickly Ricardo made my sandwich and was professional and courteous My sandwich was 6.50 and I think this is a fair price. You can add toppings for free Or drink and fries for a meal for extra I'm very pleased with my experience and the sandwich was as delicious as I'd hoped!

This place offers the only cheesesteak option in the food court at the Meadowood Mall, so the business is great for variety and, I must say, I love a good cheesesteak. They have several options for different kinds of cheesesteak sandwiches, so that's great also. I ordered the BBQ cheddar cheesesteak and it was delicious. However, I feel bad for the people working here. It's obvious that they don't enjoy what they do, which is why the customer service sucks. The cashier had a very flat personality and uninspiring attitude, and was ready to move me along as soon as I paid. I expected to be able to leave a tip on my receipt, but surprisingly, the receipt was one and done and the cashier made no attempt to make it easier for me to tip, nor did I find a collection bin to do so with. The cook, a big, black guy, was at the grill cooking up the orders, but save for the fact that he was facing us, I'm not sure he even knew we were there. He never smiled once, nor acknowledged us right in front of him (the grill is part of the counter facing the customers). I was a little disappointed in my order. I ordered a BBQ cheddar cheesesteak, but noticed that it was not a real slice of cheddar cheese put on the steak, but instead, it was shredded cheese sprinkled on top. Any excitement I had for my cheesesteak was halved at that moment. There is an older lady who works at the end of the counter to distribute orders. Her personality was a little more upbeat and she was probably the best part of the customer service experience, but even then, it was lacking. I know I love my job and I go above and beyond to do a great job for my clients, so it really just breaks my heart to see someone doing a job they don't love, and doing it without cause for care. Overall, this place offers a good tasting cheesesteak, but the service issues leave it with only two stars.

    Packed to-go very nicely!

The Lady and I have been regulars at Charley's since they arrived in Reno around 2008 (they had a location in the Summit Sierra mall). That location closed fairly quickly due to what the owners stated was exorbitant rent due at the mall (somewhere around $3000 a month). They then opened up shop in the Carson mall and have been there ever since. When we found out that a new location was opening in the mall down the street from where we lived, we were so happy! Basically, this place has one of the best hot subs in town. Go there now and get a sandwich!! Everything is freshly grilled in front of you (unlike some other places where they come pre-made in little tubs) and they have a myriad of extras to put on top of the subs. Try the buffalo chicken sub or the bacon three-cheese. You will not be disappointed!

When visiting Reno, I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a delightful and relaxing lunch…read morespot to definitely check out "Süp". Located directly on S. Virginia St and adjacent to St. Lawrence Ave in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Reno, Süp has served up delicious and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups dating back to 2007. This place has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally got to experience what it was all about. Since this is in a fairly busy commercial part of town, it can be a bit tricky to find parking. However, we were able to park only a block away and this was during the afternoon on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 12:15pm. After making the short way to the business, I absolutely loved the exterior aesthetics and layout were represented. The business itself mimics a house complete with a large front patio area that actually snakes around to the side of the house for the more comfortable Reno days. The wooden tables with plastic chairs and covered tents to shield off the sun were a very nice touch. The inside also offers very generous indoor seating complete with ample space for a single person, a couple, or a family. Their menu are digitally presented on LED TVs complete with some of their specials that are handwritten on a chalkboard. My lady and I both decided to order sandwiches to get our fuel and energy for the day. I went with their "Char-Grilled Steak Baguette"; this came complete with their bistro steak drizzled with chimichurri sauce and topped with caramelized onions, New York white cheddar & sharp cheddar cheese and served on a cheddar poppy seed baguette. My lady went with their "Reno Deli"; this offered salami, pepperoncini & pesto layered with spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and aioli on toasted sourdough bread. Both of our sandwiches came with a side house salad. Once given our number (we got Tahoe St), we decided to sit outside and take full advantage of the weather (as it was a perfect 78°F). What I particularly like is that the ambiance is the perfect vibe for daydreaming, people watching, and enjoying the simplicity that a city like Reno offers. Both our sandwiches arrived in roughly 10 minutes and were presented on white porcelain plates. My sandwich was made to perfection as the cheddar baguette securely held the fillings quite nicely. There was a lot of seasoned steak as the other sauces were not too overpowering. And considering the size of this, it got me quite full as I wasn't hungry until much later in the day. I will say that if you're looking for a reputable small business that offers healthy fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, amazing ambiance in a very desirable area of Reno, I highly recommend giving "Süp" a try. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, bowls, and soups are all wonderful choices as they focus on farm-fresh ingredients. And if time allows, I highly encourage everyone to eat here as I felt right at home during my 45-minute stay. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sunday but are open Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm. With that said and done, I am giving Süp a perfect five-star review.

19 years running and still one of the most beloved restaurants in all of Northern Nevada!…read more Is it the scratch made suits? Perhaps The always smiling and overly friendly staff? Or is it that epic side salad that comes with every sandwich? I like to think that it's a combination of everything above that makes this place a spot that people return to time and time again. For me, it's the friendly faces and the family owned lives that this place is dudes which bring me here from time to time. And the warmer Mo I don't often think about it, but they do have incredibly welcoming patio with lots of shade and great salads and sandwiches if you don't feel like soup. But of course there's always an awesome option of having a cup of soup with your sandwich just to round out the experience. From what I can tell, not a whole lot has changed about this spot and that's with good reason. The people have spoken over and over and over again in this community loves this restaurant just the way it is. When you come here, you can't go wrong with the grilled cheese and classic tomato soup but if you're feeling adventurous, try the soup sampler and taste a few at once to pick your favorite then find out when it's on the menu so you can plan your return based around it. Me I'm a sandwich guy and my most recent visit. I had to try the barbecue chicken on the jalapeño cheddar roll. Chicken with succulent, not overly sauce with light spice and the fresh veggies on top made for a really nice sandwich. The bread was a little bit thick and I ended up eating most of it open face so in the future, I'd say if there's an option for this barbecue chicken to go on top of the salad, you won't miss there. Speaking of salad that cute little side salad that comes with all the sandwiches is so good. Their house made white balsamic vinaigrette is just absolute fire and no meal here is complete without it. 19 years in and Sup is still hot. When's the last time you visited?

A glass bottle of very warm water with the 2 smallest glasses with ice was brought to the table first. Ice is nice especially when its 100 degrees outside. But the glass was like a shot glass and with the water being so warm by the time we ordered our food all of the ice was melted which made that 1st glass of water cold which was a couple of gulp but then you're left with warm water. Food presentation was very beautiful. Taste of food wasn't anything you'd come back for. We ordered the mushroom raviolis.i expected a white sauce as it said creme sauce but it was a red sauce. It came with crispy potatoes which were very thinly sliced and fried potatoes and a citrus salad which was arugula and a very tasty dressing. There was maybe 5 raviolis not great..the red sauce is all you can taste some loose mushrooms around the raviolis in the sauce. The fried potatoes great in presentation ok in taste but I wish there was more potato in each bite. The arugula and dressing were the best thing I ate out of 4 dishes I tried. We also had the potato taquitos which I was looking forward to but it was very dense and the potato tasted like how a bad potato smells. Other than that it was very very bland. Nice crisp on the taquito. The gnocchi pasta dish was also no flavor. The sausage in it was good. 2nd favorite item was the slice of bread toasted on both sides. The bread was almost as big as the food on the plate. The 4th dish was the potstickers which also were just ok.
