Cons: no close parking for wheelchair, have to go thru smoky casino and the ventilation system in the restaurant doesn't mask smoke entirely, and they keep it chilly (always bring a sweater for G'ma.) I come here about once a year. A three hour drive and it is absolutely well worth it. Usually it is my best friend and I,but this time I brought my daughter amd her friend. They enjoyed themselves. One ordered a rueben, the other ordered the pasta with blackened salmon. She shared that it was ok and did not finish her meal. They both liked the rueben. As for me, I decided to get half a rueben and a bowl of matzo ball soup. Delicious, as always, my favorite hands down. Chassen was my server when I was here 2 years ago with my friend and it was a pleasure to have him as my server again. He actually remembered when my friend and I came last time. I loved the menu and everything was good, but it would not survive in NYC. I had the pastrami sandwich, pastrami was okay but smaller pieces and not the full flavor I was expecting. I enjoyed the potato latkes and it was nice that it came with both apple sauce and sour cream. Also no complaints about the matzoh ball soup. read more

Nicely stacked corned beef sando ($21)on seeded rye. You have the choice of grilled or steamed bread. I added a slice of Swiss cheese to accompany my meat but in hindsight, I regret it as it took away from the overall taste of the sandwich. They clearly melted the Swiss somehow on the corned beef. Perhaps it was just from the hot sliced meat, microwaved (I doubt) or steamed? However, I was a bit disappointed as my sandwich came out fairly cold and by the feel of the bread I feel like it was ready well before it was brought out and sat a bit waiting for my mouth as the top bread was dry/crusty and the bottom slice was still steamy warm. I would have liked a hotter sandwich. For my side I chose the fries. Fresh and hot they would have been the bomb, however, like the sando, they were mediocre as they were past their prime. My dining partner had the grill pastrami (same price) with added Swiss cheese slice as well. The amount of meat on his sandwich looked 1/2 the weight/volume of mine. (I was glad with my choice.) Overall, I'll probably return for my craving of a good "Chicago Jewish deli" corned beef sandwich but will ask to be sure it's hot next time and I will also ask for freshly fried potatoes, or maybe I will try the potato salad or cole slaw. 3.5 stars out of 5. We went to the Atlantis hotel to stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! Atlantis was doing a Black Friday stay special and if you booked you got a $25 food credit! We decided to go to the Manhattan deli for an evening snack! My husband got the Miso soup which was very tasty and two Dutch crunch rolls that were heated and melted in your mouth and paired nicely with the soup! I went with mushroom cream of soup with a half of egg salad sandwich on sour dough. The bread was a little tough, I wish I would have ordered it on the Dutch crunch roll. Next time! The waitress was very attentive and we sat at a table facing the sport bar. My husband ordered a nice Chardonnay with a good pour. Such a great place. The food is always great here. It's located over by the sports book. We ordered to go and the staff were super nice. The area itself isn't closed in with windows or anything. So while it is separated you can heat and see everything out in the casino still which is fun. Lots of food options and desserts. Pleasantly surprised! As someone with many Jewish friends and frequented NYC delis, I wasn't expecting much from a deli in a Reno casino. But I find the food delightful! There's this giant Corned Beef and Pastrami Double Decker, with heights of meat similar to what you'd get from Katz. You'd never get anything this size in NYC, and never for a reasonable price. Both meats are hot and fall-apart tender. The New York Special is a lot lighter. The corned beef is cold, and savory equals creamy-sweet in a matching layer of coleslaw. Both sandwiches are substantial, and either could be easily shared, but both are surprisingly easy to eat. The spirit of New York is very much present in these sandwiches! read more

Their fries were cold, one had onion rings one had garlic fries, and I had regular fries so we could share, but it was nothing to write home about, they were not that great.! service was ridiculously slow, so much for getting back there on the road, it took over an hour to have lunch! I ordered the Reuben, my friend ordered the Reuben and my other friend ordered the steamed meat, corn beef sandwich! I thought the onion rings were undercooked, and the fries were cold! We came at the close of a long day of volleyball and had a terrible experience. The service was poor, the orders were wrong, items were missing...it was a mess. My matzoh ball soup had a cold matzoh ball and instead of being sanitary and replacing the dish - they just reheated it gross and the matzoh ball was still cold! My daughter and I ordered chicken Caesar salad. It was highly overdressed and wilted. The chicken was ice cold. Our dinner mate ordered the salmon and it was overcooked and extremely fishy. The manager, although he removed the salmon, one salad and one soup - did not seem a bit surprised nor did he seem to care about our experience. There weren't that many people there and so many empty tables, and they were still so slow :( we ordered within 10-12 min of being seated and our food came out just after 9:30. There were 5 of us. We didn't order anything extravagant. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was the most stingiest pastrami sandwich I've ever seen. It tasted fine, just wasn't anything to write home about And the sad cup of fries that accompanied it was really stingy as well. Since this is still the only NY Jewish style deli oasis in the deli desert we call Reno, NV...I was ready to drop in again for another lunch treat! I was very surprised to find that casino pizza could be so good. The ingredients tasted fresh and they have a wood burning oven that makes the pizza so crunchy and delicious. Boom! This is our favorite restaurant in Reno. Why? For starters, Mr. John Farahi who runs the Atlantis sought to replicate an authentic Jewish deli in Reno. He has succeeded wonderfully. From demanding genuine rye bread like you normally only find in NYC, to delicious pastrami and corned beef, to the best cheesecake ever, anywhere. The matzo ball soup, knishes, and blintzes are all 100% authentic and delicious. We've probably eaten here 50 times over a decade or so and we'll keep coming back. In fact, we choose to stay at the Atlantis over the Peppermill, GSR, or Silver Legacy just so we can dine at the Deli so conveniently. Lastly, today for the first time, we tried their pizza. Based on our past experience, we assumed it would be very good. But we were completely impressed. Their Soho pizza, basically a margherita with tomatoes, was exceptional. It was the perfect combination of whole milk mozzarella, san marzano tomato sauce, and sear. Blown away. To be able to do not just one cuisine but two cuisines with such genuineness and taste is incredible.
