My coworker was digging some phillys and i remember this place when i visited Brea mall, as its located in the food court area of the brea mall. I wanted my coworker to try the philly steak, usually super soft steak with a lot of cheese! I was not dissapointed, we both for a foot long and a drink, and we waited about 5 minutes and both of our sandwhiches were ready! super cheesy and soft steak! the price was on the higher end though, i think we paid like $34 for both footlong and two drinks. Its a place i try maybe a couple times a year due to the price increases. I would recommend trying the strawberry lemonade, its also 10/10. There is a kit of seating as it's inside the mall so that's cool. Ambience is loud but lots of open space. I finally had a chance to stop by this Charley Philly Steak inside Westfield Topanga mall food court last night to try their wings. My wife wanted something else so she went to get her own food but I was craving some classic wings. For a Friday night, they were a little busy but it wasn't too bad. I went with the 6 classic wings and it already comes with fries. My rub on the chicken was lemon pepper. When my order was ready, I picked it up and went to eat it with my wife at a table. You don't get much fries and there not that much meat on the wings. I thought the fries were good and the wings were kind of more hard than what I'm used to. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the sandwiches taste the best, the meat is an even better quality than I remember from when I used to go to a Charley's in the Bay Area years ago. My family and I eat here all the time because it's so tasty and the staff does such a good job and are super friendly! My kids love to watch through the glass while they cook up our food. I always eat at Charlie's whenever I am in a mall. It is my favorite Philly cheesesteak from fast food. The one at this mall is tragically understaffed. Waited about six minutes to order no one ever took my order just kept looking at me. They have two people working there that are overworked clearly not their fault, but until Management realizes it takes a cashier to actually take the orders. If I could give negative stars for service I would. As a mall employee I was excited about charleys coming back but the customer service from Wasi is consistently horrible. He is very rude at the register, if he has to repeat himself he gets annoyed and others I know have the same experience multiple times. The only time I order from there is if I see that Wasi is not dealing with the food and stationed at the register, I've seen him sick and coughing into his hands without washing and touching everything. Hopefully he is not a manager and just an associate because he is a terrible worker and consistent at that. At the very least if you are a terrible worker, follow hygiene and cleanliness protocols, you work in the food industry. read more
