Zankou chicken is a solid option for a (used to be quick) decent amount of wait time option. My friend was starving after we took the boys to Brian's shaved ice (a few stores down) and decided for all of us to grab some lunch since we were there. I usually order from the one on Sepulveda and I hardly ever go in, so it was an experience actually going in and ordering. This location is a decent size with plenty of tables to enjoy your meal in the establishment. They also have a patio area outside where we decided to eat since it was a nice sunny day (hence the shaved ice). My kids ordered the kids meal chicken tarna wrap with French fries and I went with the new protein bowl with chicken tarna. The kids wraps were very dry and plain with a tiny bit of sauce and tomatoes in the inside. I think that is done on purpose because kids don't like any toppings on their food. It was super basic though. My food was descent but there are other options for protein bowls elsewhere. The only thing keeping this place alive for me and where I think the 3 Afros are deserved is their signature garlic sauce! There is nothing like it and I want pounds of it to put it on everything. Love this place it's a little pricey but everyone's always so nice and the food is excellent my favorite is the cucumber tomato salad they call it something else but it's not that hard to make I went to the Middle Eastern grocery store and asked a lady how do you make cucumber tomato salad and she showed me how to make it and now I can make the exact recipe but this cucumber salad they have it has just cucumber tomatoes but man it is so delicious like I go there and just get little buckets of that But the chicken are outstanding it's always clean it's really Quick getting food I don't have anything bad to see about this place but you gotta try it ASAP read more

I like the peace in eating here when I dine in, though I do wish the ambiance was more better. The tables aren't all clean when we drop by but usually there is one we can seat at. I never see the staff wipe down any tables when we come by. Ordering is usually with a wait due to one cashier most of the times. This spot seems heavy for takeout orders. We love the way the chicken is cooked here and usually it's been consistent with the chicken being juicy and tender. Definitely our go-to meals haven't changed. Whenever we crave the garlic sauce, we come to this branch. I just wish the bathrooms were taken care of better.. more often than not, there's a terribly strong smell and no paper towels to use after. I bought 2 chickens today around 1 pm. I kept half of one chicken for myself. The chicken was extremely dry. This is one of my favorite restaurants because of the chicken and the chicken tarna. I was extremely disappointed with the chicken. The young lady that help me was extremely helpful and another server forgot the small garlic sauce and when I asked the young lady who helped me she said she forgot and corrected it right away. I've had Zankou chicken before, Pasadena location, and it was always on point, today I was craving the chicken because I'm pregnant! I called and they put me on hold for a while so I placed my order online after getting tired of waiting on the phone. I requested my chicken to be cut in 6 pieces, and thy didn't do it! Then I asked for 4 of the garlic sauces because that was my main craving, and of course any of them was in the bag!! The store was not busy at all and the receipt was pretty clear! The workers were polite enough, and overall the quality of the food was solid. What really brought the experience down was how slow the food service was. There was literally no one else in the restaurant, so it was confusing why it still took so long to get a simple order out. If the place had been packed, it would've made sense, but with an empty dining area the wait felt unnecessary and frustrating. What can I say about Zankou Chicken other than it never disappoints? I grew up eating it...it was my family's version of "fast food," and it still brings that same comfort and nostalgia. The Tarzana location is the closest to home, and the service here is always friendly and quick. We sat outside on a lovely day and enjoyed the nice weather. I ordered the falafel plate (always ask for it extra crispy...it's the best that way....and I hate a soggy soft falafel), while my husband went for a couple of chicken tarna wraps. I usually remember to take photos for my reviews, but this time we couldn't resist diving right in, and by the time I thought of it, everything was gone! Although it took a while to get our food she was very accommodating and helped us with whatever extra we needed. There was a gentleman there who was a bit rude and in the full dinning area started talking down on her, and telling her what to do. The other night after a very exhausting day I stopped at the Zankou chicken place near the Corbin Bowl. A young man, Nick greeted me with an incredibly welcoming smile and an eagerness to help make my decisions easier. I had thought he was the manager because he was very competent and even tho I was prepared with a list, his recommendations filled in where I hadn't considered the choices I had made. He offered to walk me to my car because I really did buy a large quantity of food. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the yummy food but, because it's such a rarity these days to have someone care enough to see I was in need of help and he didnt hesitate to be of service. Well I wanted to give it 5 stars. I really really did. But wow was I underwhelmed at this specific location. Ordered 2 kebob plates and the family meal with the whole chicken. First of all let's talk about the service. When I gave them my name I was told another 5 minutes and I was already 3-5 minutes passed my original pick up time. Mind you the restaurant had 2 families already eating and that was it. 10 minutes went by and I asked again if I food was ready. Part was and it was not sitting under the warmers. There were 2 girls in the front. One wearing a yellow shirt very young and had glasses and looked so lost that I swore we were all going to get the wrong orders. Then the other one I'm assuming was a shift manager cause she was older than the rest and was wearing a black polo shirt. She had no personality, didn't crack one smile or even an attempt to apologize for food coming out 15 minutes late! She tied knots on the bag so tightly that I had to pray to the zankou gods that the order was right because I would've had to rip the bags open to check the order. The restaurant itself was dark as if not all the lights were on... and I got there at 8pm. When I got home immediately shocked that this was not the same caliber of food when the only local one was on Sepulveda Blvd in that tiny hidden spot. The "roasted" tomatoes had no roast on them... they felt and looked as if they were boiled and stabbed to give the effect. They were hard and cold in the center. The chicken breast was beyond dry. Definitely not worth the $74 total I paid tonight. Unfortunately I will not return to this location. Only plus was the garlic sauce was delicious and that became my dinner with the lavash bread. I had a frustrating experience during my pickup. One of the employees repeatedly questioned whether my order was actually mine and assumed I was an Uber Eats driver, even after I clearly explained multiple times that it was my own order and showed proof of the order as well. I was then asked to confirm it again in a way that felt unnecessary and ended up being delayed about 10 minutes during my lunch break.
