This is not the original Tommies you may remember from the mall but it's a standalone restaurant on Topanga across from Jack in the box. They have the same food though with the burgers fries with a specialization of chili. Cant go wrong with chili burger and chili cheese fries. They also have a cali burger, which is their play on the in n out burger. All very delicious. read more

Lined up for over 1.5 hour for six .80 chilli cheeseburger and they did not disappoint. It's been a while since I've been back to Tommy's. The 80 year anniversary celebration was brilliant. Today is their 80th anniversary!! They selling their World-Famous Chili Cheeseburgers for 80 cents today from 12p to 8p...the standing line was decent and went smoothly. We only stood in line for 1.5 hours. Drive thru on the other hand was horrifying, because there was a line formed from Topanga Canyon Blvd and another lined formed at the alley way. We ordered from Tommy's Burger tonight with Door Dash and were really disappointed. My husband has been eating Tommy's chili burgers for over 50 years, and this was the worst one he's ever had. His double chili burger arrived completely soggy and wet -- the bun was literally falling apart and the whole sandwich looked smashed. I ordered a double cheeseburger on a lettuce wrap. The burger itself was okay, but the lettuce was old, wilted, and very wet. The fries were just so-so. It's honestly concerning because we expect a certain quality from Tommy's, and this looked and tasted nothing like it should. It's a shame to pay for something and have it arrive in such poor condition. Not sure if we'll be ordering from this location again unless things improve. read more

After repeated confusion in the drive-thru, the girl employee in glasses finally confirmed our order. While the food itself was correct, the receipt was wrong. Mistakes happen, so I walked inside expecting a quick fix . Instead I was met with rude dismissive attitude from the girl that took my drive thru order . Tommy's has a small, straightforward menu with a few hamburger, hot dog, and fry options where you can add chili, cheese, and/or bacon. They also have chili a la carte, shakes, soft serve, and a small breakfast menu served all day that includes a sandwich, burrito, and hash browns. Most recently I ordered my usual: double cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. The burgers are grilled to order and the patties are flavorful. Their fries are a must order: crispy, hot, and perfectly salted, with chili and cheese. These days I can't do chili on both the burger and the fries, but I do recommend trying the chili cheese burger! It's classic, a bit messy, and totally worth it. Tommy's is definitely more of a hole in the wall, but this location is clean, employees are friendly, and the food is delicious while being slightly greasy. I wouldn't have it any other way! Okay, I am biased but I really like the burgers! Not really a 5-star restaurant but I give 5-stars to the dedication and the legacy! I just tried the California Classic for the first time and it was very good. If you like In-n-Out then this is similar but it's a double beef patty and for a limited time it is only $2.99 for one with cheese. This burger is mouthwatering and meaty. I don't eat meat that often but this is definitely splurging. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and juicy. Then with the slather of spread and a pickle it had that tangy sweet flavor to meld with the soft bread. I put my cheese on the side because I like to eat my burgers without melted cheese (most of the time). The drive thru is pretty fast and the people are nice enough. Been talking about grabbing some Tommy's again since it's been years but never made the trip out since we were always busy and craving other things. Finally my coworker wanted to get some, crazy coincidence, so we had him pick some up for the entire office. It was a bit early and I wasn't starving so I only got an order of chili cheese fries but man did I forget how good it was. I ate it as soon as they brought it back even if I wasn't exactly hungry yet but I managed to finish the whole thing. It was very heavy but super delicious. I wish the fries were a bit crispier but I guess it's not meant for this type of thing. The chili and cheese were amazing and packed so much flavor. The only problem was that it was so heavy, I was tired at work the rest of the day and then had an awful stomach ache later that evening. I was in a lazy mood and I used the drive thru.I pulled into the parking lot and initially was a bit perplexed on how to get to the drive thru. I figured it out quickly, I had to drive through the lot and into the back alley taking a right turn and the another quick right. If you want to avoid driving through the lot, you can enter the alley off Wyandotte Road. The person staffing the intercom was awesome. Very patient. He repeated our order back and made the requested changes. Kept a great tone and demeanor. 5 star service! I ordered a chili hamburger and fries. The fries were thick cut. I reached into the bag immediately to grab some fries, they were were soggy and not crispy. Oh no. That was disappointing. My traveling companions ordered a chili hot dog and chili cheeseburger. We didn't dig into those until about 20 minutes later. Yes, I forbid them from eating those in my car. My chili burger was good. Even 20 minutes later. It was consistent to the standards of the other Tommy's. Tommy's chili burgers are served with a slather of chili on the hamburger patty, pickles, slices of tomatoes, and yellow mustard The chili is thick tomato less and bean less but packed with good strong seasonings. Asked for a number 1 chili cheese everything for myself Ordered a number 2 chili cheese everything for my girl. They then asked if I wanted chili on the burger. I said yes "everything chili" Peppers for the burgers I said "yes" Got to the window got my food in a timely manner. Got halfway home and checked the fries. Regular fries... I was like okay no big deal I'll scoop the chili off the burger, not a dealbreaker Got home and unpacked the burger, there's no chili. And only chili was around the edge of the burger. Got the Tommy 3:49 special with my coworkers . 3 double cheeseburgers and 2 tamales. Except the cheeseburgers were single patties, I called and spoke with the place and they tell me to bring the food back and they will remake it. I appreciate the offer but I'm on a 30 minute lunch break and work 4 miles away so I'm stuck with the food. Make sure you check your food before leaving. I pay him and he gives me extra change. I said you gave me too much change and he looked confused. Then he says sorry about the mix up. I said ok. I get home and I have single cheeseburgers, with pickles and lots of onions and barely enough chili to taste it. I DROVE 15 minutes to Tommy's FOR A CHILI BURGER!!!!!! Instead I got a burger with barely any chili and when I opened it, the meat had HOLES IN IT!!!! Holes!!!! I scraped off the onions, and cleaned off the pickles and ate a barely identifiable Chili burger!!! I have been going to Tommys on Rampart since I was able to eat table food as a baby.
