I went to Charlie Meaney's last night. I hadn't been there for several years, since their 25 cent Wing Night. A friend of mine suggested we check out the Comedy Club last night. All the times I've been there, I never knew there was a large space in the back. This is where the Comedy was. Really nice vibe and pretty mature crowd. It was a kind of outdoor/indoor open space. A tree was actually inside. There was some pretty good comics too. Not great, but good. They definitely have the potential for greatness. I can see it coming. The orders were a bit jumbled because I don't think they were prepared for the huge turnout. Something tells me they'll be prepared next time. Everything was good, but the one thing that impressed me the most, the thing that stood out to me was Management. Jay, one of the owners was literally walking around making sure people were ok. He even personally went to the front and got me napkins and tartar sauce when I jokingly (seriously) told him that's what I wanted. You can tell that he wants the patrons to return. There are not many successful establishments in the area run by African Americans, so I pray this place lasts. Want some good wings and laughs? Stop by on a Wednesday night. I went for the first time last night w some friends after hearing about it for years. The wings were incredible.. but my cheeseburger was even better. I got the five cheese burger. I'm in NY for the week so I decided to go eat with a friend. I read the yelp reviews, saw some pics and decided this place was a good look. The scenery was chill it kind of reminded me of Cheers. There was only one bartender serving everyone... Major fail! He said he was busy so it would be a min which seemed fair but he never came back to check on us after that, he didn't offer us any water or anything else... We were the only African Americans in the bar not sure if that was an issue but I felt blatantly ignored after the initial interaction. We waited for roughly 20 min maybe more and then decided to leave... Horrible customer service, I can't speak on the food or drinks as I was never offered any nor asked if I was ready to order! I'm livid, I'm hungry, I have a headache as this was to be my first meal of the day at 2:00pm and overly disappointed...I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

Stopped in after work one night. The bar was very busy, very local and very male. I think we were the only ladies at the bar initially. Considering we were "unknowns" the staff and patrons treated us just fine, very nice Food was quite delicious. I had spicy garlic wings (yummy), and my friend had a blackened chicken sandwich which she said was really good. We were there for quite a few hrs, and the crowd changed from "after work crew" to regular locals for dinner/drinks. The dining room became busier. The food all looked good. The Chef was a sweetie! If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend and I decided to stop in for a quick lunch that was half way between where we both lived. When we walked in, didn't seem too busy and the bar tender told us to sit anywhere (after awkwardly standing at the door for a little). The waitress came into our section and served the three other tables without acknowledging us. 15 minutes later (with no offer of water or even a menu) we left, so can't speak to the food at all. My cousin put me on to this place. It's a small pub with a 25 cent Tuesday night (not 100% if it's Tues or Wed) wing special. First time I came we sat at the tables close to the bar. We were served promptly. Food was good and cheap. The deal is you have to buy a drink to get the wing special. I had a beer, cousin had a soda. The next time we came with our other cousin to watch the USA world cup game vs. Germany...sad times. We ordered wings and drinks. We ordered fries after we started getting tipsy and then we even took shots with who might have been the manager. The service was terrible though. We were fully capable of walking out seeing as the waitress never once checked up on us or gave us our bill even though we were clearly finished. Meaney's is the Wing King!!! This is a popular neighborhood bar that has really good bar food, a nice atmosphere and a friendly crowd. Although it's not a big place, you don't feel crushed while having a drink, grabbing a bite, or watching local sports on one of several televisions. Like present-day Valley Stream, the clientele is multi-cultural and everyone seems to get along really well. It's a younger crowd, but not kiddy-like. As for the food, the highlight of this bar are the wings! They're great! Forget the "wild wings" franchise stuff. Meaney's wings are so much better with a variety of flavors. Came here for St. Pattys day for some wings and drinks. I walked in around 2 and was ready to try the famous wings. They had a nice free buffet with some delicious corn beef and cabbage and potatoes. Oh man I could have ate that all night long. I ordered honey bbq wings and they were ehhh just alright nothing special. My friend ordered a nice looking burger. That sucker was huge & filled with cheese mozzarella sticks onions and I forgot what else. I am so giving that a try next time. Prices were decent. Pretty chill spot with great service. I came here with some friends who are regulars and live nearby. The vibe on a Friday night was a bit low-key but it was perfect because we could hear each other speak! Also, they get plus points for their music selection which ranged from early 90's Sublime/Nirvana to 70's music like Creedence Clearwater. Nice job bartender. For food we had nacho's, fries and couple of beers and drinks. I also tried their beer flight which offered up some nice craft beers. Prices were reasonable and typical for bar food. I noticed they have specials for wings so I definitely want to come back and try them! Service was great and I love it when bartenders speak to their customers. Went here to pick up a delivery for uber eats a few weeks ago and the bar had patrons inside at the bar drinking with no masks on. The bartender also had no mask on. They were definitely not following the social distancing rules. I would not recommend anyone going to this place until it is safe. read more

The best bar in Nassau County by far! Highly recommend the wings! The bar atmosphere is great and all around the menu is fantastic. An item on the menu that I especially recommend is the chicken tidbits. One of the best deals they do is the brunch on Sundays with bottomless mimosas and screwdrivers! I've been going to Charlie Meaney's with my cousins since i was young. It was the first restaurant their parents and mine let us go to without adult supervision. It was a great place to eat cheap wings that didn't, at all, taste like cheap wings and catch up on life and share jokes. Recently, I went there with them again. We were greeted by cheap table cloths, and new and terribly revised menu. The tv's are way to loud as i had to repeat my order three times. I was like this can't get any worse. Then the food came. A restaurant on my college campus takes wings right from the bag, to the deep-fryer, no seasoning or nothing, leaving the chicken hard, crunchy and disgusting. I got that same nasty chicken taste with my order. I didn't know if i was at a ok restaurant or a crappy, Mcdonalds. The food was less then mediocre. Walked into Charlie meaneys today. Me and my friends walked in took 5 mins for someone to notice we sat down. Another 25 mins for them to take our order. And he used. I've been here several times before. And they are usually sharp with service. I guess since the owner isn't in today. They are very laxadazzle today. They pissed me off so much with this long wait I didn't even order anything. Just watching the game drinking water .... let's see how long it takes for food to come will keep you guys posted.... so let me update you guys. So after waiting 25mins to order my food the waiter takes my order down on his phone comes back 15mins later says computer is down and I need to re put your orders in. So I asked didn't you take it on your phone. He can see I'm pissed so I just left. Before I left I complained to the manager on staff and you would think he would offer a curtis meal for dealing with the bad service since I'm a regular and I got nothing. Great spot if you like old waitresses coughing all over your food and drinks. Also, the older blonde waitress (didn't care to find out her name) had a serious attitude problem and was unfriendly.
