Meanies is a fantastic place. Great food and better staff and service. We have been coming for years and the service has never been less than stellar. I'm writing this comment in response to the ignorant fool that tried to pull the race card. As a man of color with friends of color we never had any issues at Meanies. Great spot if you like old waitresses coughing all over your food and drinks. Also, the older blonde waitress (didn't care to find out her name) had a serious attitude problem and was unfriendly. Wings are absolutely delicious. They are cooked to perfection and its been a while since I had wings that good. I also had a burger that had mozzarella, marinara, and pepperoni on it. I was not a fan of this burger. The pepperoni over powered the flavor of the burger and was quite overwhelming for me. (its my fault I should have just gotten a regular burger.) The top bun was over toasted and a bit too dry. The fries were great. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and hydrated at all times. So I made sure she got a nice tip at the end of the night. Overall simply because of the service and the wings subtracting my mistake of getting crazy and ordering a crazy burger, I must give this place 5*s. Worst experience ever! Not only did our waitress not know ONE thing on the menu, she left in the middle of our meal for an "emergency". It took 18 minutes for the wings to come out and 27 minutes for the chicken tidbits. After she left I had to get my own napkins and soda. The DRUNK bartender was loud and obnoxious. This place NEVER disappoints. Whether I'm dining in, just grabbing a couple of beers, or taking food To-Go, it's always a win. The staff is friendly, the drinks are good, the crowd consists of locals between their 20s to 30s, and the music appeals to all. They have a handful of TVs so catching the game is never a problem. They also have tons of wing sauces and their burgers are a staple. Kind of a hidden gem but definitely not your typical dive bar like others in the area. It's a really cool place, great wings and a great atmosphere but there waffle fries are THE BOMB. Prices are great and on certain days they have 50 cent wings the only catch is that you can't take it home. Other then that it's a pretty cool place. read more

Great Monday and Tuesday deals on wings 25 cents for one is amazing! And they are quite tasty, many different types of sauces to choose from. My favorite is sweet chili wings! They are very flavorful and worth every penny! Service in here isn't the best as the waiter can do a disappearing act very often and forget parts of your order. I've also found that the waiters aren't aware of the actual policy about the wings one night i was able to get 6 wings. .. which is a reality for me and the next night the minimum amount of wings i could get is 10! We drove from south New Jersey (almost 3 hours) for Charlie Meanies hamburgers and wings tonight. We used to live nearby but got the urge for their food. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Alex our server was the absolute best. Not intrusive in the least but always on time with food and drinks and super enjoyable to chat with. I got the Meaney burger and my husband got one too. Incredibly well done. Dripping with juicy flavor yet a slight crispy char and yummy waffle fries, awesome bun. Wings were crispy and delicious. I would have never noticed this place if my friend hadn't told me about it. It's a hidden gem in Valley Stream. Plenty of seating for those looking to do dinner. A bar with a great selection of beer (Guinness is a must for me!), and very competent bartenders. Fun dice games, where you can win a free drink or the pot which I have seen up to over 2 grand. The REAL great thing about this place is the BURGERS!!! Holy shit are they good! There is a whole menu of different types of burgers you can get, and they are just amazing! All the servers and bartenders are really happy and friendly and yes, they do have a pretty good beer selection on tap. The music is always SO loud though, I don't understand why either. Great place to catch football on Sundays. They have a ton of tvs and have sunday package so they show most games. They're very accommodating if you want a certain game on tv. I love the food here, they have great boneless wings. The boneless chicken teriyaki is by far my favorite. Irish nachos are also a great choice. Hubby and I stopped in for a bite and a beer about a week ago and found Meaney's to be even better then I remembered from 6 years ago. The atmosphere quaint and inviting, the crowd was mellow and super friendly; the bar service friendly and attentive and the food (burger and waffle fries) well above your average bar food. A very pleasurable experience. The owners have always been very visual and hands on this business with a motivated drive for this place to be pleasurable and homey. Charlie Meany's is a fabulous neighborhood establishment! My family has been frequenting here for years and it's never a disappointment. Everything from the food to the drinks to the staff are wonderful! Chris is a phenomenal cook and the food is always hot and fresh! Sue, the daytime bartender, is one of the nicest people I've ever encountered behind a bar-she always has another drink ready for me and is both attentive and personable :) my girlfriends and I do 'Meany Mondays' on Monday afternoons and hate if we miss it! The chicken wings with variety of flavors are the bomb! No wonder this pub was featured in some of the local newspapers before. Love the loaded nachos, irish fries and the fish and chips! So many selections to choose from which is really great. Oh and the burgers are equally amazing! I brought my little kids and they said the place seems a bit dark (lol) but they love the kids finger foods. This place is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Great beer selection with multiple taps for different craft beers. The food is even better. I ordered the south falcon burger.. Half pound burger on top of mozzarella sticks!! Was easily one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had. Service was great and the waitress was cute too. Not sure what the 2 previous reviews were referring to - I was helped right away and there were quite a few African Americans in there as well. Some of the reivews of this place are right on target, such as: The burgers, absolutely delicious and if the cook in the back is Greg, then the burgers are even better than delicious. The music, WAY TOO LOUD, I don't know what it is about the music being so loud, but it definitely turns people away sometimes as soon as they walk in the door or for knowing not to come back again. The bartenders, Yes, just about all of them are friendly EXCEPT for one, Susan, who is a daytime barmaid. She is COLDER than the beer on tap. She flirts with all the male customers and shuns just about all the female customers. Going as far as ignoring the female customers even if she is just talking with males at the bar and not serving them at the moment. While tending bar she has a continuous "puss-face", but then perks up if a guy starts up a conversation with her. Chris, Dan, Karen and Scott are all great bartenders, always smiling and pretty funny, it's a shame that one person can be so miserable and if you like to hang there, you have to see that. read more

Seriously been coming here for years but received the worst treatment today. Went to happy hour while Sue was working and she completely messed up my order. I asked initially what was the happy hour deal and she responded anything that's made with cheaper liquor. I asked if that could apply to the rum punch and she stayed yes. Me and my friend proceeded to order under her advisement that the rum punch would be included in the happy hour deal that is listed on the site as "$3.50 for well drinks". When I asked to close out, Sue gave me an incorrect check that she had not corrected with the Happy Hour deal. When I was expecting a check of $30 max, the check was over $70! I asked her about it and she gave complete attitude telling me that the $10 rum punch was the happy hour deal and the site was wrong, although I had asked that in the beginning. She gave such an attitude and then went to other customers (presumably regulars) and called me a "fucking bitch" while she thought I was out of earshot. Although seeing her poor treatment of other customers, inattentiveness to people ordering (I had to asked for a menu twice because she forgot while placing lotto tickets), I really did not expect her to be the grinch she turned out to be. Enough said I will not be coming here again, and will advise my friends and family to do the same. read more
