This bar restaurant is located in the heart of Floral Plaza, great ambiance, clean and professional staff. The chicken wings are their signature plate, and that is the only thing we eat when we come here. We are fanatics of them. read more

My husband and I decided on an Italian restaurant in Floral Park but it opened in the late afternoon, which we didn't realize so we decided on this place as plan b. This was a great decision we made. Although, parking can be a problem depending on the time and day but we were able to find a metered parking spot with no issues. We were the only customers in the restaurant, which made us nervous at first but we were pleasantly surprised at the end. Our waitress gave superior service and she was so accommodating to our every need. My husband got a bowl of chili and the JD signature steak sandwich while I got their favorite, chicken parmigiana with a side of caesar salad and sweet potato fries. My husband said this was the best chili he has ever eaten with plenty of ground beef and a spicy kick as well. His steak sandwich was so tender and unbelievably juicy on a roll with some hints of garlic flavor. The side of French/ sweet potato fries was fresh cut from potatoes and not the frozen ones from the bag. Their homemade caesar salad dressing was really good. My chicken parmigiana was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. I got the side of sweet potato fries for free because they didn't have any steak in house that day, which is what I ordered in the first place. Food was great, price was cheap and service was excellent. What else can you ask for? We will be back in the future! read more

Bar & Boxing Ring I love / don't love this place. One the one hand, it is a real nice Irish pub on a street full of Irish Pubs. The food is good, the bartenders are friendly and the place absolutely rocks out on St. Paddy's. On the other hand, there is usually a young crowd and there tends to be a lot of fights the later it gets- since I haven't been in high school in quite some time, I can do without the fisticuffs and the police arriving. Update: decided to host my son's christening party here and it was awesome! The catering does not disappoint, the food was superb and the service was great. I plan on having more parties here for sure. Hands down my favorite bar/place to eat in Floral Park. The staff is always friendly and the menu is not your average "pub grub," it's a bit more well thought out and definitely higher quality. The great thing about this place is whether you've been a regular for years or you're just visiting for a day, you will feel welcome. Tonight I went for dinner with my family and the owner went out of his way to put cartoons on the tv for my daughter so I could actually sit and eat! Can't get better than that. This place is great! Been here twice, once on a Sunday for lunch, and a Tuesday night. The bartenders are excellent, very attentive and friendly. The blonde bartender with the cute Irish accent on Sunday was great, food came out in a timely manner and drinks were never empty! We had a horrible experience at this bar last night. We went last Halloween and had such a great time that we made sure to return this year. It was more crowded this year as their Halloween party fell on Halloween night. There were only two bartenders with a full bar. At the end of the night when not many patrons were left one of the bartenders (the only one working that bar at the moment) walked past me about 8 times and completely ignored me, meanwhile my money was out I was clearly looking to purchase a drink. Let it be known, I was not even remotely drunk at all and was very politely waiting. She crossed the bar and helped everyone on that side who had just decided to order a drink and I had to wait until she served 6 other people before there was no one left to attend and so she had no choice but to provide me with my one beer. They didn't have a DJ this year but you could pay to play songs from the juke box and never hear the songs you chose because of course everyone was putting in money and choosing play next. They advertise a costume contest and never had it. We went last year and really enjoyed the contest so we worked hard on our costumes this year hoping we would make it into the running. I asked the bartender and she advised me the contest would be occurring in a few minutes, there was barely anyone left at the bar when we finally gave up and left and they still hadn't talked about a contest. There were two extremely drunk individuals there who completely ruined our experience. One individual kept purposely bumping into us even though we expressed that we didn't want him around us. And one girl walked past us and started screaming at us because her Halloween costume hat fell off while she walked past. No one touched her and she took it upon herself to then smack the hat off of one of our friends as if he was the one who did it! We then saw her running to complain to who we think was the owner. The owner didn't bother us but it is still very unnerving to be put in a situation like this, now we felt like we had to watch our behavior when we just came to dance and have a good time, meanwhile we hadn't done anything wrong. Will definitely not be returning here ever which is sad because we used to really like this place, all of our friends (10 people) who were with us also said they will never return. We felt that the staff only paid attention to their friends who were at the establishment and not the other patrons. We spent a good amount of money there last night and would have likely done the same in the future had they not displayed such poor customer service last night. read more

What a great bar! I've never been here before & I'm glad we checked it out. They have a condensed menu. Regular bar foods like wings, mozzarella sticks, sliders, quesdillla's etc. I got the wings and they were delicious! They come in quantities of 10. Only weird thing was they didn't have a bbq flavor option for the wings & I feel like that's a pretty standard flavor option bars have. The speciality drinks are $10. I had the pandemic punch & it was so good! But very little liquor was added. I had two & I didn't feel or even taste the alcohol. With the new Covid restrictions it wasn't packed at 8 on a Saturday night. Then an hour later it got slammed! Even when it was slow the the service was horrible. One bar tender/waitress, I felt so bad for her. I guess because of the new curfew for closing at 10 the business didn't think they'd need another staff member working, but they definitely did need another person. My boyfriend got the sliders which he said were really good & the fries as well. When he asked for more ketchup, it took 15 minutes to come. I took away a star for the slow service & lack of liquor in the drinks. Hopefully they read these reviews & realize stronger drinks are a must in a bar & better service as well. read more

Admittedly, I was a little surprised to be invited to a baby shower at a pub, but after attending the shower at Jack Duggan's, it became clear to me that they know how to host a really great party, no matter what the occasion! The staff and service were incredible. They were so attentive the entire time, and made sure no one's glasses were ever empty and that everyone was happy. The food was also great! The baked ziti/vodka sauce (a combination of my two favorite pasta dishes) was delicious. Everything was prepared well and definitely was above pub fare standards. I loved the big party room. It more than accommodated all of us and there was plenty of room for games and for the guest of honor to open her gifts. I live fairly close and love coming here with friends to hang out. The crowd varies, the bar is filled with young twenties when everyone is on break from college. When school is in session the crowd is older about 30+. They try to keep all of their customer happy and like to play 90's music and mix in some classic rock and current top 40. They have specials on wings and beer during the week Mon-Thurs. $1.50 beers on Thursday! They have recently upgraded and improved the selection of beers on tap. The service is always friendly and helpful. The wings are really delicious. I would suggest sweet chilli and teriyaki if you like sweet instead of spicy wings. I've been here many times over the years, it's a solid pub that keeps us coming back. The wings, burgers, fries, nachos and chicken sandwich are all very good! All of the staff is friendly and attentive - our favorite bartender is Jeff because he's funny and has a warm quality that makes you feel like you've known him forever. The drinks are good, the draft beer never gets that skunky taste that often happens when places don't properly clean their lines, and the mixed drinks are strong. Me and my friends come here all the time. They have some of the best wings around, with a 10 cent wing special on Wednesdays (2 drink minimum). They also have a $1 domestic/$2 import beer special on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It can be hit or miss here in terms of the crowd but Thursdays through Saturdays are usually pretty crowded. Sometimes they have a dj, but he kinda sucks haha. One of the best things is that they usually open the upstairs on Saturday nights where they have 2 tables set up for beer pong. Newcomers to a game have to buy the pitcher (house rule). Bartenders are awesome, and the bouncers are nice not assholes haha. the ultimate go-to bar in Floral Park..no questions asked. I've been here with friends numerous times and have never left disappointed. It's a great atmosphere with friendly people. The bartenders and bouncers are all well-mannered. The place itself is a pretty decent size, however, it can get annoyingly crowded on some nights. I don't know what it is but this place can be super dead or super packed (it has been filled even on random weeknights like a Monday)...plenty of TVs and they have a DJ sometimes...never had any food there though. This was just a regular bar, with regular drinks -- pumpkin beer was on tap, very early in the season. The nice part was that they actually did a buyback, which is almost unheard of nowadays. The place was pretty big, fits in a lot of folks. The music wasn't so bad, either. If I were in the area, and was looking for a pub, I'd come here. Jack Duggans is a solidly average college bar. Nothing particularly negative I can point out besides the men's bathroom. The bartender is nice, attentive to the area around the bar, and makes good simple cocktails. Tuesdays and Thursdays are $1 domestic/$2.50 premium, and can get a little crowded sometimes. Great Pub has that old world charm with all the modern amenities, great staff . Awesome choice of beer on tap and the food is delicious. The staff is great and is truly friendly. Been to many functions on the second floor which used for catering parties and special occasions . There is another bar and bathrooms up there which make it truly personal ! Are you over 60, unemployed and a drunk...then this is the place for you. Practically empty these days with only the local drunk making an appearance, Duggan's definitely needs a heavy duty makeover. The place smells like a mildew-y kitchen and stale beer. The place is not clean, very sticky and gross. The bartenders are ok, they would be better if they were not drunk themselves. New to the area and stumbled across this gem... not my usual scene, however, their mug specials combined with their diverse menu (I recommend the beef satay... random, I know), and friendly staff, make for a very hometown feel! I haven't been here in two years, and they really stepped it up after upgrading their taps and starting to offer a decent selection of craft beers by the bottle and on draft. Maybe it's because I've grown accustomed to buying $10+ cocktails in the city, but Jack Duggan's is dirt cheap in my opinion - especially when you come early enough for the buybacks! The jukebox plays classic rock by default if no one is buying songs, which is 100% okay with me. Great place and affordable. A few friends and I stopped by a week and a half ago or so as our friend recently started DJing here Saturdays. The crowd was laidback, friendly and everybody appeared to be having a good time. Some good right-at-home feeling vibes from here to say the least. The crowd had its' lows and highs, throughout the night it went from being smaller and tightknit to the end of the night around 2,3,4 am being packed up until they closed. Bar has plenty of displays for any sports fans out there and Jeff the bartender was the man! Haha The owner(or one of them not sure how many there are) was also present which is great to see. It's always better to be in a place where you know the owner takes their own place seriously and assists in keeping it up and running! An added bonus, some great bar pizza&pretzels here too. I'm not a big wing person like my husband is but I really do like their teriyaki wings. Good sauce and unlike other wings it's not rubbery or fatty but has a nice crisp to it. My husband who's had wings at many places incl Croxleys says Duggans is the best. The burgers are also very good! read more
