We have used Charlie's as a mainstay in our restaurant schedule. Food is always hit, accurate, and great tasting every time we go. Whether eat in, or take out during the pandemic. Prices have increased over the years, however this is expected. Staples for us when we go, include kids meals of grilled cheese and hotdog, mozzarella sticks and chili, and the Charlie plates with cheese burgers. I highly recommend the plate with Mac and home fries, with all toppings including the meat sauce which is excellent. read more

I love this take on garbage plates. It's a traditional garbage plate with home fries and macaroni salad plus they add baked beans and cinnamon to the mix which makes this place incredible. Charlie's has been open for years! They have a nice assortment of foods for everyone in the family. I did curbside this time. I got the turkey meal. White meat hot turkey sandwich, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy over all! It was so good! Comfort food at its best. I had arranged for pickup at 1 and when I got there and called about 5 minutes early they were ready. I'm planning to get this meal again real soon. The workers are very patient and they memorize your order. No tickets! The food is great and their signature charlieburgers are a must have. The overall vibe of the restaurant was very chill. bland flavorless greasy . He had chicken nuggets that had no chicken flavor; really no know meat flavor and greasy; Tater tots that were crunchy but no potato flavor. I had charlie burger also with meat of unknown origin becasue it sure didn't taste like a beef burger and the most greasy onion rings I ever have tried to eat. Food doesn't look like much at first, but it is AMAZING! I went here 10/29 and got a burger and fries. The fries were REALLY good, definitely above Bill Gray's, which is one of my favorite restaurants, which should show you how much I like them. The burger looked like one step up from Burger King or some other fast food place, but the taste is like 50 steps up. None of the sauces/toppings were overwhelming, or anything. One thing that I do have to say is that they don't have any veggies in them. No lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. read more

A garbage plate in Rochester is easy to come by. However, the Charlie Plate is in a league of its own. The hot sauce has a slight spice that tingles on the tip of your tongue. Ideally with two cheeseburgers and home fries with "everything" (mustard, onions, and hot sauce). The best recommendation I can give about this is instead of getting the plate with Mac Salad, you need to try it with Mac n Cheese. It will blow your mind. An amateur like me only could eat half there and took the rest home. So for me, two meals in one. You'll leave full, or hating life after engorging yourself. I have been to Charlie's many times and was always satisfied. However, tonight we went and it was total disappointment. I had a hot dog which was barely cooked, in fact it was cold inside. I have not been to Charlie's in years. I was shopping in Webster and past the Empire Blvd. restaurant so decided I'd give it a try. The Thanksgiving platter was calling my name. Mashed potatoes, stuffing topped with chicken tenders but it didn't stop there. Add some cheese and pour gravy all over it to make Thanksgiving in every bite. My granddaughter said it was only missing the cranberry sauce! Note to Charlie's -offer a little side of cranberry to finish the experience! The dining room was spacious and there were free pickles both fill and sweet which was a nice touch. Lots to chose from and great for families. Friendly staff too. read more

I am huge fan of the fact that we have a few local chains in the area, that have been around since the heyday of burger joints (50s and 60s), and are still around even with all the competition from national chains. So if I am on my way to the supermarket and I am hungry, I make sure I stop by. It's a bad idea to do grocery shopping hungry. It's a great idea to eat a delicious burger from Charlie Riedel's I always get the same thing, the Charlieburger and fries. The Charlieburger is a hamburger with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on a poppy seed bun. I like mine off the char, to add a grill flavor, and my fries (crinkle cut) well done. I really like their hot sauce, and I make sure I get some on my burger, it makes it harder to eat, but I don't mind a bit. They also have garbage plates, that I haven't tried, and red hots and other usual stuff you find at the local burger joint, but honestly, I just get the burger. read more

I grew up in Webster and every time I come back, the first restaurant on my list to visit is Charlie's. The Charlieburger meal (ask for it "off the char" if you like the charbroiled flavor) is what I usually get. What makes it even more amazing is their hot sauce. I also love their fish fry... no others have come close (and I spend a lot of time in the UK where fish n' chips is supposedly gold standard) I've never strayed from these two favorite menu items, but they offer enough choices that there is something for everyone. This is my favorite Resturant in Webster and probably my favorite fast food Resturant. Everything is great here. Great fish frys, great burgers, the BBQ chicken steak is great, and even the grilled cheese is awesome. Make sure you ask for gravy with the French fries because their homemade sauce is amazing as well. OK, I admit I haven't been there in a few years. My wife & I were hungry and decided it was close, there were a lot of cars (good indication) but major disappointment. Went here for lunch with my boyfriend. Walked in to see a printed paper advertisement posted in multiple places around the restaurant, for waffle fries and nacho cheese. on the paper it shows waffle fries for $4.19, side of cheese $1.00. After ordering a cheeseburger, waffle fries with cheese, i looked closer at my receipt, they charged $5.69 before tax soley for the waffle fries and cheese, meaning they charged me 50 cents extra for them ordered together, however the total for the fries and cheese should have been $5.19. Not to mention, my waffle fries barely covered the bottom of the small fryboat, it was like looking at a half eaten serving. So unfortunate that this place has gone completely downhill. A nice gentleman at the counter one day suggested that we order them off the char, great suggestion! Bacon cheeseburger off the char is my go-to order.
