They have always provided timely service and good explanations about what they need to do and have done. Their service and techs are top notch. I have used several HVAC services where I worked and before Charlotte Mechanical. None come close to their professionalism. I will not use anyone but them. read more

I paid for 2 new Trane AC units. Initially the work seemed to be going well, but then my thermostat kept reading 80 degrees upstairs and it was set to 76. We called and they came out. One of the vents was disconnected from the unit and was cooling my attic. During the initial installment the technician did not place 2 screws in the ring to attach the vent and just plastered it and it subsequently fell off. As a result My electric bill was over $500. They were also supposed to file for our Duke Energy rebate and 3 months later we have had to call them about that, and they still have not scheduled our inspection with the county; all of which we have had to call them and remind them about. In late May we had our original Lennox HVAC system replaced with a new Rheem system by Charlotte Mechanical. Tony & Mike arrived at the time we were told, they got to work and completed the job in one day. They put down runners and wore 'booties' to protect our carpet and tile areas. Clean-up was great! Tom (Service Manager) and Jake (Sales) arrived to activate the system, made sure everything was working properly and that we were satisfied with the work they had done (we were!). Several days later we noticed a few areas in the house were not cooling well and we called to have things checked. Tom & Jake came out first thing the next morning and replaced an original ductwork damper that was not expected to need replacement and also made a few adjustments to the system. All was well! We did have to call again late day Monday August 1st, the system was down completely. Kris (with a 'K'!) showed up about 2 hours later and quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty switch on the new AC condenser and had things up and running in about 20 minutes (n/c warranty problem). The service repairman, Adam, came out to my home yesterday late afternoon after I called them a few hours prior for service on my gas hot water heater. He diagnosed the problem with the unit which required a part replacement. In under an hour, he replaced the part, tested it and even discovered a gas leak in the pipe and fixed that as well. He was friendly and polite and I'll definitely recommend Charlotte Mechanical to my friends if they are ever in need of a repairman. I used Charlotte Mechanical to fixed my AC which was not cooling the unit, and ended up paying $1,000 to get it fixed. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone, not only did they ripped me off with their pricing, they did not fix the problem. 1 month later, my AC is broken again and not cooling down. I've called them to complain and get someone to take a look at the AC Unit, but guess what?... I would have to pay again for them to just go take a look at it! I'm obviously not giving them any more money. I have consulted with other companies on the issue I had, and they all have said that Charlotte Mechanical stole my money when I supposedly got it "fix" a month ago. I also tried going to their offices and when I got there no one opened the door, even though, there were many people inside. If I could give this company a ZERO, I would give them that. They only care about taking your money, and not taking care of their customers... UNBELIEVABLE! I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, if I do not get contacted by them after I called yesteryear. read more

Tech came out for a routine maintenance appointment and claimed a part was broken on the unit (even though unit was working fine when they arrived). We elected to call another company for a 2nd opinion and when Charlotte Mechanical left our unit was not working at all. We learned a wire was disconnected on our unit by Charlotte Mechanical and they misrepresented what type of repair needed to be made. My husband reconnected the wire and the unit is working perfectly fine now. Filed a complaint with BBB and Charlotte Mechanical responded to it with lies. They are frauds! I'll go without cool air and heat before I ever call them for anything ever again! read more

I had used Charlotte Mechanical in the past and was pleased so I decided to contact them again when I needed A/C service. I wish I had gone somewhere else. Their technician couldn't fix the problem on the first visit and had to come back a second and then a third time. They charged more for refrigerant if you didn't buy their service plan. Also recommended replacing items that didn't need replacing. I will NEVER call them to fix anything again. read more

I used Charlotte Mechanical for over several years until they started price grouching. My last experience was horrible. Once the technician came out and expected my pipe link. Instead of fixing the problem he told me if I didn't get additional replacement like an additional expansion tank and a new water shut off valve for my main water turn off switch. That he would not do any work in my home. The technician left my home without fixing the pipe link I had on my second level home. Which was accruing major water damage. Watch out for price grouching, I would not use them, they never give you a price quote over the phone and charge you $89 just to come out. They will not service calls on weekends and/or holidays unless you buy their service plan. read more

Beware they sale you a unit and it cost more than average and then bring a smaller unit and installed it, Then the sheet metal is not flush up against the side of your home and then they interfere with your siding being put on properly when returning to make the adjustments, The wiring is not to code after several visits we still do not know if it is up to code the inspector has not been back out. All they had to do is Measure properly and installed the proper unit and sheet metal and sealed it properly and none of these issues would have occurred. Now we have siding that is not installed correct, due to the facts above. There are communication issues. and I am waiting to see if this is and industrial size unit, I have tried to get it installed properly and been unsuccessful. read more
