Very clean place, super nice employees and great food. It is fantastic to see so many young people working hard.

Today was our second time eating here. Our first visit was pleasant and we enjoyed our food. This time was a totally different experience. We got there around 1:15 pm on a Tuesday, and they were very busy. There was one girl behind the register, full tables and booths (the empty booths still had dirty stuff on them from the prior guests), and a waitress who was having some sort of prayer meeting and being prayed over by two men. The girl at the register said she'd be right with us and we checked out the desserts while waiting. (They clearly need more help during the busy lunch hour.) We were finally seated and given menus and then waited for over 10 minutes before anyone even came to the table with silverware and water. We finally placed our order and didn't wait too long our food. My husband got the upside down burger scramble bowl, and I got the Cobb salad. I should preface this by saying that we were going to try the green Cholula sauce but noticed that it had expired a month ago. When my husband asked for a new bottle he was told that he wouldn't get sick from it because they had just gotten these from their supplier. No new bottle was offered or even looked for. What? Guess that means no Cholula for us. My husband noticed right away that his potatoes were cold and that his burger hadn't been cooked properly. (He ordered it medium well which means there should be a little bit of pink inside - instead, this was cooked very well done.) When he pointed it out to our server she got defensive and insisted that she's been in this business for 13 years and that every restaurant cooks their meat in different ways. In their restaurant medium well means it's completely cooked through. (I'd hate to see well done - it must resemble a hockey puck.) She was so argumentative that my husband said to just cancel his order. Now the salad . . . it was just okay, but at $12 I expected better. The eggs had a weird taste to them. The avocado was so old it was ridiculous. It was mushy and without flavor. The ranch dressing was extremely runny and the mixed greens were really just one type of frilly looking things. The only good thing I can say about the salad is that the chicken was cooked well. Our server finally came back to see if we needed anything else and proceeded to clear the entire table in front of us - even reaching over us and our drinks and brushing against the straws. Very unprofessional and unnecessary. Why couldn't she wait until we left??? She brings our bill and tells us to pay at the register - where we wait again. My husband has seen by now that they did not remove his canceled order from the bill. He mentions it, and our server says that because they cooked it according to their medium well temperature that they had to charge for it, but that she'd take it off the bill just this one time. She wouldn't do it again in the future. (Like we're coming back?) Even after that she still rang up the total to include the canceled order. He reminded her again, she adjusted the amount due, we paid, and then left. We are never going back. We have never experienced such an argumentative server anywhere with so little customer skills. Really just rude. Between the incorrectly prepared food, the lack of flavor, and the lack of customer service we'll avoid this place in the future. I stopped at Charlotte's Cafe by chance, just passing through the area. I got the kale salad with chicken and a chicken corn chowder soup. Both were delicious! Salad ingredients were obviously fresh and the soup homemade. I was going through the area again, recently, and made a point to look for this restaurant again. Luckily I found it and the food was, once again, fresh and delicious! I also purchased some homemade granola for the road. That was a good decision!! read more

Quaint and down home breakfast. Great location in Berkeley Springs and very sweet staff. I'd go back. They have outdoor seating as well.

Charlotte's Cafe is a must-visit when traveling through Berkeley Springs! Quick and friendly service, cozy and inviting atmosphere, a warm and filling breakfast, and a mouth-watering array of pastries and desserts. If you're looking for a place where they don't check on you once the food is at the table then this is it! Been here a couple times to try and give them a chance but that was a mistake. Over priced coffee, and a mundane breakfast. We ordered the same burger for lunch, the only difference being the cheese. We got tasteless burgers, One of the burgers had the wrong cheese and the other didn't get any lettuce, tomato onion or mayo until we asked. I had a hair in my food but they said, "not sure where that came from because the guy is bald." As every other person working has a full head of hair. Got a $1 off my food for the hair. Not sure if we came at the wrong time, but we were very disappointed seeing that this place had such good reviews! Would not recommend if you're looking for a quick bite. Came here with my family. They were sort of busy, but we still got sat right away. After my table of 3 ordered. Multiple other tables ( larger and smaller than our party ) ordered and got their food before us. This went on for about 45 minutes. Our server neglected our table. After she delivered food to the newer tables around us, she only looked at us but never acknowledged us. Or provided any update. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. Came in around 10:30 which is a relatively busy time for them. The service was a tad slow but that is expected because of how busy the place was. We got the food pretty fast. We only ate inside once (before quarantine started) and the place is lovely inside with wonderful service. The food is a refreshing change. Once quarantine started, this place has been a life saver on a regular basis. We took advantage of their Easter dinner carry out special and have done the $25 carry out family dinners on several occasions. It's so nice to take off from shopping and cooking without sacrificing quality of your meal. They're a breath of fresh air to Berkeley Springs and we're so happy they've come along. read more

The food was absolutely amazing, the prices were reasonable, and the portions were surprisingly large. I'm a big guy- I can throw down on some food- and even I had to take some home in a to-go box.
