The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. Delicious food, fantastic beer selection, friendly staff and a fun interior. The burger had two smash patties, a hearty dollop of spicy mustard and melty/crispy cheese as well as the usual fixings. It was well cooked, seasoned beautifully and was very filling. The fried chicken sandwich was full of flavor and a generous amount t of fried chicken. The beer selection was also incredible. They have 16 taps with an excellent selection of Northern California beers including some harder to find varieties. After a long day of hiking at Yosemite, we sped back to Mariposa and ran into the Grove House around 9:36 pm as they were one of the few places open late. With about 24 min left before closing, we were afraid they would turn us away but the woman working at the bar who took our order was very kind and understanding. The food here is so delicious, I'm kind of sad we didn't eat here till our 3rd night staying in Mariposa. My brother got the fried chicken sandwich with the chips and salsa while I got the grove house burger with fries. I had a burger at another popular restaurant in town and this burger beat it hands down, wasn't even comparable. The double patties were so moist unlike the dry patty at the other establishment and I was super stokes that it came with a pretzel bun! I'm super particular about my fries but these were the tastiest crinkle cut fries I've ever had - perfectly crispy, seasoned well with salt and vinegar, and a doughy potatoey inside. read more

It's kid and dog friendly, the food is tasty, the beer selection is great, and the cocktails are carefully crafted and top notch. We were in Mariposa for two nights and ended up here both nights. We lucked out with events - live music one night, karaoke the next - but regardless of the event the staff was fantastic and hospitable, the vibe was amazing, the locals were friendly and inviting...we just felt so at home! Mariposa is a very special place, but the Grove House was the highlight of our trip and clearly the heart of this town. It really showcases the wonderful sense of community here.
