After a long day of hiking at Yosemite, we sped back to Mariposa and ran into the Grove House around 9:36 pm as they were one of the few places open late. With about 24 min left before closing, we were afraid they would turn us away but the woman working at the bar who took our order was very kind and understanding. The food here is so delicious, I'm kind of sad we didn't eat here till our 3rd night staying in Mariposa. My brother got the fried chicken sandwich with the chips and salsa while I got the grove house burger with fries. I had a burger at another popular restaurant in town and this burger beat it hands down, wasn't even comparable. The double patties were so moist unlike the dry patty at the other establishment and I was super stokes that it came with a pretzel bun! I'm super particular about my fries but these were the tastiest crinkle cut fries I've ever had - perfectly crispy, seasoned well with salt and vinegar, and a doughy potatoey inside. read more

The Grove House was such a pleasant place to stop by for dinner after a long drive to Yosemite. My husband and I were both starving, and decided to check it out since he really wanted to try the potato quesadilla. I ordered the Grove House burger with tater tots and left feeling very full. Service was good and there was a live performance when we were there so the energy was great and relaxing. There were tons of seats and tables outside too and overall just a lot of space to move around. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I felt like for the quantity of food I got, it wasn't quite worth the price.
