The most Ma & Pa shop I've ever seen in the best way!! The dishes were made with nothing but love and quality ingredients and everything I ate was the best I've had of its kind. I got the chicken fried steak (perfect amount of breading and very flavorful with the gravy), breakfast potatoes (so crispy and delicious, comes with onions and bell peppers), and shared the banana pancakes. They were the best banana pancakes I've ever had!!! Banana slices were throughout the batter so it wasn't just throw some slices on banana on the top with a plain vanilla mix. They were so good. The service is slow but they really care about your order/modifications. They fixed my order before I even had a chance to tell them. They even brought us oopsy eggs that they made extra of. I just spent a quick weekend in Coulterville, and looked up breakfast spots nearby on Sunday morning. This place looked promising so I went for it. I arrived a few minutes before they opened, so sat outside with my dog. At opening time, a women (I believe one of the owners) opened the front door with TWO big pieces of bacon in her hands, and excitedly asked if she could give them to my dog! Already blown away by the kindness and hospitality, I of course said 'yes' and my dog was in heaven. The inside looked cozy and inviting, but I sat outside (dog) and ordered the smoked corned beef hash and an orange juice. Not long after, a gentleman came out with the food (I believe he is the other owner) and it looked amazing! The plate was loaded, it came with two perfectly cooked eggs on top and an aioli drizzle that was so tasty. On top of all this, the meal included one of their scratch made biscuits, and the owner/chef gave me some of their gravy to try, on the house! Both the corned beef hash and the biscuit were hands down the best I've ever had. The breakfast potatoes were also cooked to perfection. The portion was almost enough for two people it was so generous. The only thing that would have made the experience 110% would have been fresh squeezed orange juice, but that's just cause I love fresh OJ. I (and my dog) ate like royalty and were treated to the best service I've experienced in a long time. I can't wait to find myself in the Coulterville area again, because I'm sure the rest of The Copperpot's menu is equally delicious, and the people there are the best. read more

We live close by (25 min) and started frequenting there when we found it a few years ago. It is a darling atmosphere with lots of copper and photos of Yosemite. We are greeted right away and seated. The owners are the cooks and mingle with the clientele as they serve. They have a few other staff but the owners do about everything. Many locals eat here. The food is homemade. Corned beef is smoked there. Sauces, gravy and salsa are homemade. The best potato salad ever!! Good "bang for your buck!" We hadn't been there for a little while because we travel. Today we said, "let's go" because we missed it. When we walked in, it was like we had come home. Try it for yourself. It is a great diner with great , consistent food and great service! read more

I just love places like this. Quaint, homey diners where everyone there knows everyone that comes in. We were horseback riding at nearby Dreamor Ranch (must do!) and asked where we could grab lunch after. Billy there sang the praises of Copperpot Cafe, saying they slow cook the meat and hand-make all the sauces. He said the pineapple BBQ sauce in the summer time is a must. We said- say no more! and headed over after a few hours of riding. The menu was robust and we had a hard time narrowing down our choice because everything all sounded so good. We decided on BLTs and a cheesesteak and they were top notch. Super fresh ingredients and came out so fast. The service was fast and very friendly. This place is absolutely worth checking out! I left a $3 tip for a togo order, literally wrote $28.01 as my total after tip on the merchant copy, and the employees at the Copperpot Cafe must've changed the tip to $5 since my card was then charged for $30.01. I'm a vegetarian and they always accommodate me, decided that I was really in the mood for a burger and they could make it with beyond burger. The food was amazing, everything cooked to perfection. The sauces tasted so spectacular that we asked if they sold it. We've traveled to about 75% of the states and have never tried such amazing sauces. We were greeted when we arrived and were able to pick our own seats. I had such an incredible experience for breakfast that I went for lunch as well. The staff knows everything about providing the best service, I felt comfortable really quickly and everyone was so polite and warm. When you step foot into this place you feel a sense of home, it was very inviting. Let's talk about the food - I don't know what I was expecting but the quality, portions and presentation of every meal we ordered was insane - SOO delicious, my friend and I were in awe. The first meal kept me full all day so I ordered my lunch to go. For breakfast, I ordered the beef hash with scrambled eggs, a pancake on the side and a biscuit - delicious. My husband and I have lived up in Greely Hill 5 years and had to go to Sonora for take out or restaurant. We just today tried the Copperpot Cafe and let me tell you the hamburgers are to die for! We ordered 2 hamburgers and fries and he ordered onion rings just wonderful flavor! We're in our early seventys and we ate half of the meals we ordered and have to take a nap we're so full. About a 30 min. Drive from Groveland. It's in a tiny strip mall. Doesn't look like much from the outside, the definition of a whole in the wall. But I was doing laundry in the laundromat next door and decided to pop in. Was looking for breakfast but just missed it. They stop serving breakfast at 11. Absolutely a delightful gem! We stopped in after receiving a recommendation from a local. They were right. The place was great. I came in and felt a bit sad because there weren't any veg options. The waiter/cook/owner came by and told us he just started getting beyond meat burgers. He was super jazzed to make it for us. His enthusiasm for helping us was really cute. Formerly the Tangled Hear Café, just a hidden gem in the hills above Coulterville, called Greeley Hill. Wonderful food that is lovely prepared by Sarah & Brandon. You will be delighted & surprised by whatever you order. They make super chilies but that Rueben sandwich is to die for an wonderful burgers! I cannot wait to try one of their dinner nights! Worth a trip even if you're not local & just taking a drive to see the hills in bloom, and as the town sign indicates, the elevation is just right & the people are friendly. This place is an amazing hidden gem located near Coulterville. We stayed near this spot during our Yosemite adventure and our homemade breakfast was the food highlight of our trip. I would say this was the top five breakfasts of my life! The pancakes were amazing. Everything was delicious but still light. They make almost all of the food from scratch. We ate at 9 am and didn't get hungry until after 4 pm that day. The owners are delightful and interesting- a wealth of information about the local attractions.
