6.20.25 I came with a mission to find a pair of comfortable and cushioned sneakers for an upcoming trip to Japan as I know that I will be doing a lot of walking. Upon arriving, I was greeted by an employee who asked if I needed anything. He brought me a pair of sneakers that I was interested in. Shortly thereafter, another seasoned employee who was previously helping another customer asked how I was doing. He asked me a few questions about the fit and feel and suggested that I go up a size. I also asked him socks and waterproof spray. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with the exceptional and courteous service that I received by both employees. The store is smaller than other local standalone athletic stores in the area. The one complaint that I have about this location is that the windows are bare with no blinds so it was very bright to see the sneakers against the windows. It is particularly challenging for those of us who have sensitive eyes. I had a hard time seeing the merchandise. Full price unworn items are available for exchange, store, credit, or refund within two weeks of purchase. Full price worn items can be returned for store credit or exchange within two weeks of purchase. A perk of this retailer is that they offer a loyalty rewards program where when you have made a purchase total of $250 you get a reward of $25 to use for future in-store purchases. Unlike other retailers, you don't have to pay for the loyalty reward program. I will definitely be shopping here going forward for my athletic shoes. This location has a great selection! The customer service was phenomenal and tailored to my specific needs. They watched me walk to evaluate how my feet place on the ground, and they brought out a variety of options. I walked out with a Brooks running shoe and a Hoka running shoe. And they have specials where if you spend a certain amount, you get a percentage off, and even extra if you're a healthcare worker. Thanks Charm City Columbia! I was here to pick up my race packet for the St Patrick's Day 5k. I've been to several Charm City run's and this one is a bit smaller than most. But, they do have most things (if not everything) you would expect from a running store. The staff was friendly as we all took over the store, forming two lines, to pick up our race bibs and packets. They were also available to try on the Altra running shoes. It was my plan to do that, but I was short on time. They had those headphones that are all the rage now, bone conductor versus in-ear, to try on. They had running shorts, tights, shoes, and shirts for sale. The also displayed shirts from previous races at a discount. If I lived close it would be a handy running store. read more

Visited Charm City Run, looking for shoes to train in before a half marathon. I was able to try on several pairs of shoes and decide on a pair within 15 minutes. When I walked in, they asked me what I was looking for, I got my feet measured and gait looked at, and I tried on several pairs of shoes. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and helpful. Idk his name but he seemed like a "Brian." I know pretty much nothing about running, but Brian answered all my questions and let me run a little bit outside to test out the shoes. Started the Octoberfest 5 miler here. The day before was packet pick up at the store. The parking lot is a construction zone and the parking area in front of Charm City is completely closed off. They are still open. You just walk around the coffee store in front of it. The store is small and it was full of stuff. Even when I was there for pickup they had people buying shoes and clothing still. Definitely worth following if your run. And for whatever reason I'm this area it's hard to find actual running shoes but they seem to have or can order. read more

I picked up some shoes here that I actually ordered from the Rehoboth Beach location. They had it shipped from the Baltimore location to Columbia because that was the closest. The employee at Rehoboth was fantastic. Why am I reviewing the Columbia store? 1. It was fine, 2, For some reason the Rehoboth store wouldn't pop up on Yelp. Anyway it appears all 3 are well run and the store has a nice name. I hate shopping for shoes but this worked out. read more

Worst customer service ever! I came in the store the exchange a pair of shoes that were a little to narrow. The sales person was no help. Didn't ask me a single question. I had to initiate the fitting session by talking about what was not working with the previous pair. Kept walking away from me mid thought. Only brought out one pair of shoes and didn't offer any solutions. I had to keep asking to see shoes and troubleshoot myself. I felt very unwelcomed and rushed. This particular sales person had the same attitude with the person before me. All the other sales associates were bring out multiple pairs of shoes, lacing them up and helping customers put them on. I ended up getting store credit, even though I found a pair of shoes I liked, so I can just go back to the Annapolis store, which is way more helpful. Never again going to this location. read more

Upon entering I was immediately helped by Liv who was knowledgeable and super helpful. I explained the heel pain I've been having and that the balls of my feet were beginning to hurt which is why I was looking for née shoes. She looked at my current running shoes that I wore in, offered some options and we found a winner within 3 tries! The size I needed wasn't at the store, so she had them ordered and shipped to me. I had an in-store fitting back in February and I must admit they did a great job recommending the right shoe for my ankle issues. When I left, I was happy with my shoes and the customer service experience. HOWEVER, by mid-June, just 4 months later, I noticed a hole in the fabric above my toe. When I called the store about the hole, I was told that I could bring in the shoes so they could troubleshoot why it happened. I took them in and the staff told me that I was in the wrong shoe size, which is why my toe poked a hole in the shoe. I then reminded them that THEY were the ones to recommend that shoe size, but they would not acknowledge their error. They only continued to offer me a new pair of shoes at full price which was around $130. I was told that my shoes were about halfway through their lifespan and it could happen if I wore them about 3 miles each day. I responded that I am a stay-at-home mom, I am not an avid runner and I only take a 1-mile walk 2-3 times per week, plus errands so there's no way I walked 3 miles each day. One staff member told me that she can "blow through" running shoes in only a month, which only made me feel like my claim was being further disregarded. I agreed to be fitted into the proper shoe size and ONLY about halfway through my visit did someone FINALLY apologize for my issues with the shoes in such a short timeframe. She admitted that tearing through the fabric was very rare, but still only offered me a new pair at $130. I did not buy a new pair. I ended up doing some research on the shoes at home only to find that this is a common complaint with these particular shoes. I then reached out to the manufacturer and found out that they have a 1-year warranty on their shoes and after sending a few photos and explaining my issue, the manufacturer replaced my shoes for FREE! I don't blame Charm City Run for the poor quality of the shoe. But I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the lack of customer service I received. I would have been satisfied if at the very least they listened to my claim, acknowledged their sizing error, and referred me directly to the manufacturer to resolve my issue. I'm just glad I didn't take their word for it because despite what they told me, the shoes SHOULD have lasted longer based on the mileage I put on them. read more

This location has changed my mind about Charm City Run. I used to live closer to the one in Towson, and I felt like the atmosphere wasn't welcoming at all. This location has a comfortable atmosphere, like the people there actually give a shite. The store is small but it gets the job done. I am enrolled in my first ever training with them, and I think this was a good decision. Picked up some head and hair gear while I was there today, and looking forward to the remainder of the program. If all goes well, I may participate in other training with them and even splurge on another pair of shoes. read more

Was referred by my podiatrist because my ankle brace requires me to get new shoes. Went today and couldn't be happier. Worked with a young lady and she showed and I tried on several pairs before the fit was perfect with the brace. She made sure I was able to get the shoe on over my brace and the fit was correct. I am definitely telling others about how great the experience was and how caring. One thing was that I could see the store from Snowden but in the parking lot it is behind the Starbucks. This was our first visit to a Charm City Run store. The store is reasonably sized to have what you need. Austin introduced himself and told us about sales going on, and then left off to look around which we really appreciated. Prices were reasonable and I got some good deals from the sale racks. We let Austin know that the store doesn't show up on Waze (GPS). We only about this location because we drove by it recently. The lady that helped us very very thorough, checking the way my husband walked and jogged to determine the best type of support for him. Copy/Paste of my google review but I again wanted to give a huge thank you and appreciation for the Columbia team, especially Bill who ended up helping me out throughout the hour. Immediately as I walked in the door, the humor began, breaking the ice immediately with a joke and the team reacted perfectly. Very welcoming and friendly smiles, under the masks of course. Bill read though the comments that I typed in the appointment notes and we immediately went into talking about my run, running techniques, reviewing the wear pattern, insole recommendations, measuring my foot and arch, and a brief history of my injury. Not only did he remember most of the background story, but he already had some solutions in his head thus saved us a lot of time. After a good few minutes of talking, he brought out 2 shoes for me to try, evaluated how I run in the shoes, and tremendously helped me with describing how my injury effects my running so I can relay his description to the doctor. I ended up buying not only the running shoes, but also a foot roller and insoles. Genuinely felt like they cared about my end results, not just the sale.
