This is our 1st time here celebrating my birthday. Our waitress Angel was so kind and very informative of the menu. Gave us great recommendations. Other staff members were very polite to us as well. Out dinner was so delicious! We started off with the lobster bisque and caesar salad. Main course: 10 oz. Morton's Grille was an excellent choice for my birthday lunch! We started with the smoked gouda tater bites, jumbo lump crab cake, crispy firecracker shrimp, and lobster bisque. The smoked gouda tater bites were definitely my favorite appetizer, while the crispy firecracker shrimp were probably my least favorite of the group. For the main course and sides, I had the 14oz dry-aged ribeye, land and sea, lobster macaroni and cheese, and baked au gratin potatoes. The dry-aged ribeye was absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly. I also really loved the lobster macaroni and cheese -- definitely one of the highlights of the meal. For dessert, we tried Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake and the Tiramisu Bread Pudding. The tiramisu bread pudding was my favorite dessert of the two. The service throughout the entire experience was excellent. I asked for a larger table, and they were very accommodating with my request. They also surprised me with a complimentary dessert and even gave me a birthday card, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience feel extra special. read more

As is tradition, we chose Morton's to celebrate a birthday. Note to self reserve a table even on Friday evenings! We ordered the land and sea which was amazing. The short rib was very tender and had a great flavor. If you like the flavors of French onion soup you will love the sauce on the ravioli. The roasted brick chicken was also great. The Alabama sauce is essentially like a chic fila sauce, which paired well with the very juicy chicken. The skin was tasty and had a good crisp to it. The Smokey joes Mac and cheese must have changed recipes- the sauce was thicker and tasted less like Gouda like previous versions. Still good! Just not the same as before. Morton's coffee as a dessert was a smart move. Service was a little off this time, but we were seated at the bar top area so maybe understandable. The food here is superb and the service is great -- the bartenders are always on top of everything. Happy hour runs all the way to 7:00pm, and this place also is part of the Landry's loyalty program so total value of the experience is hard to beat. Alexa (my fav), Khayla, and Mike are awesome bartenders, and Tommy is my second fav but he's not here today. If you're a wine drinker try to flag down Alec the somm. he's given me some really good recs on wines, so just tell him what you like and let him hook you up. I've never had any issues here myself, but if I did I know 100% that Joe or Gage (the mgrs) would get things fixed, so I am always confident when booking business dinners here. read more

I finally made my way back to Morton's! I had a free happy hour drink that I had been given. I called ahead knowing I would miss happy hour by a couple minutes and they said they would honor it for me. Not only that but apparently that is a bad only deal as well and they still let me order at my table and just let me choose whatever drink from the spirits menu. That gesture was incredibly generous. The service was Devine. The baseball cap steak is to die for as it melts like butter in your mouth and explodes with flavor. I also had the lobster Mac and cheese and the asparagus. Had to finish with the lava cake of course and it never disappoints. Morton's is a beautifully decorated place with valet or not too far away parking right across the street. I originally intended to go to Del Frisco's, a casual restaurant, and drove here instead since I thought for sure this was where Del Friscos was located. Apparently not. Inside it was buzzing during their happy hour and I was able to find a nearby parking spot, so I just decided to stay. I sat at the bar area where they have happy hour from 4-7 weekdays. As with many chain upscale restaurants, they have a good selection of both food and drinks on the HH menu. I ended up choosing the signature old fashioned for only $7 and the petit 4 filet mignon sandwiches for $12. They didn't ask if I wanted to add their fries or the tater bites. For my 2nd round, I chose the Buffalo chicken meatballs and a local draft, a Karbach love street. Old fashioned - a pretty good deal that tastes great on a chilly evening. The orange slice was super small in my drink, but not the end of the world. Petit filet mignon samdwiches (4) - these are pretty good and each sandwich includes a soft and fluffy brioche style bun with 2 filet mignon bites which are about 1 oz each. Not much meat, but when you add it up....it's actually close to 8 oz. The bottom bun has small holes in it (the way it's made) and the mayo squirts out of it when you take a bite. There is no lettuce, tomato or even carmelized onion (which would be nice). Those were the only complaints I had with these. Otherwise, good flavor as I enjoy filet mignon sliders. I've had several versions at different upscale restaurants over the years. Buffalo chicken meatballs - these tasted sorta similar to boneless Buffalo chicken wings. The Morton's sauce is a little weird , I wasn't sure why it was there, maybe as a ranch substitute? Could not tell if it was trying to be homemade blue cheese or homemade ranch...it tasted like neither. Overall, service at the bar was fast and friendly as it should be. This seems like a reliable spot for happy hour and you can't beat the location either. read more

We just got checked into our hotel and wanted something close. We got right in and our server, Angel, was the absolute best! And the food....my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we both agreed that this was the best meal we had ever had. Ever. This is my second time at this location and it just keeps getting better! I came for an event, to try new menu items. I approve and can't wait to come back. The staff event and non event are personable, patient and knowledgeable. Last night one waiter even made some other recommendations that I have to try. He recommended a Ponchatrain for my next visit. The restaurant is intimate, dark and romantic. They even had the red carpet rolled out for us! See the many things I tried. Top favs were the chicken dumplings and mini wagyu cheesesteaks. Warning they have a kick, but a good one. The cajun ribeye was divine and a must have. If you like a strong drink they have excellent old fashions and something call The Gold Rush. I went for a Yelp event and I have never had this type of experience. Morton's literally had a red carpet for us. As soon as walked in they greeted me at the bar and I got an old fashioned which was tasty. They passed out several appetizers but I'm on the carnivore diet so I only ate the slider Wagyu beef but it was amazing! I also sampled the ribeye MR which is exactly how I like it. If you're a Cab lover I highly recommend their exclusive State and Rush. It's incredibly smooth. I'm typically a Pinot Noir girl so I was impressed with it. I also had the Garrison Brothers Gold Rush. Do not miss this drink if you're a whiskey drinker! Tonight was a hands down 5 star night! read more

My mother loves lobster. It's her favorite food of all time. So, when I received the email from Morton's Grille featuring the "Lobster Indulgence" meal, I immediately booked the reservation. While the lobster, itself, was delicious, other aspects of our dining experience were lackluster. Service: our server was very friendly; however, when my sister arrived at the restaurant's entrance pushing my mom in her wheelchair, none of the employees at the front entrance opened the door for them. In fact, it was another patron who offered to open the door. Also, our table was wobbly, and our server even mentioned it. But nobody rectified the situation, which could have easily been solved, at least temporarily, with a folded napkin (a fix I've seen performed at a different restaurant.) Food: overall, the food was good, not great. I ordered the Gouda tater appetizer, which took a good 20+ minutes to arrive. As previously mentioned, the whole lobster was delicious, tender, and well-seasoned. I like that they pre-split the tail and pre-cracked the claws, but they didn't crack the knuckles. In addition to the lobsters, my mom and I split a filet, which was average, at best. The side of asparagus was also average, but the spinach and mushroom side was very good, highlighted by a savory buttery flavor. My sister said her salmon entree was "okay," but really liked her side of baby bok choy and shiitake mushrooms. The truffle fries were also "okay." Decor is dark and moody but not stuffy, which I appreciated. I also liked that we could actually hear each other at the table without having to yell. I was lucky enough to stumble onto this establishment while staying at the Marriott Woodlands. I hit happy hour. I was able to find a seat at the bar. The bartender served me right away, an old-fashioned. On the happy hour menu I had the spicy shrimp and the beef empanadas. The shrimp was amazing. Perfect flavors and just the right amount of heat. Quite a large plate for happy hour. The beef empanadas came out perfectly hot, total of three smaller sized portions and accompanied by a nice little dipping sauce - almost a salsa Verde. Morton has been a favorite of mine for many reasons. It's a perfect happy hour. It's a great date night spot and also it's the perfect spot for a delicious dessert. My favorite is lava cake dessert I have a friend who raves about it as well. Definitely worth, stopping for. I did get to try recently some of the new items they have coming out which is really exciting. The wig Wagyu pigs in a blanket was delicious buffalo chicken meatball such a unique idea and so delicious but the firecracker shrimp is always a classic. I talked to someone who had been here right as this location opened and said it was a mediocre experience, so I went in with a gift card and low expectations. I've been to the Morton's chain before in other cities and have thought it was fine, but my visit here convinced me that experience differs per location and this location has stepped up since it first opened. We got the Globetrotter, land & sea, 7 oz wagyu filet, and split a Caesar salad. We were offered a large booth (for just two people!) as we walked in, which made the night feel that much more special. The table bread is SO good, but we weren't offered any and had to ask twice to get a loaf. After speaking with 3 different people from Morton's, and how they are handling this situation, I have decided we will return. Especially since Mr. Joe has now added official kids options for this restaurant. I was instantly feeling it based on that. We were then greeted by a bartender that was also amazing. We were then transferred to another bartender and that's where our experience went downhill. She in my opinion did not want to be at work. She walked away and came back and we thought ok she's better now. Nope! Still didn't change my opinion on her. Sucks that everything started so well and then bam. We ordered a kids chicken tender and firecrackers shrimp. She did give a heads up that the kids tenders were the same price as the chicken sandwich to which I opted not to get the sandwich yet when I received my check, the sandwich was on there. Why is a kids chicken tender meal $18? Yes I had my daughter (10 years old) with me. $18? It was nowhere near worth it for frozen tenders dropped in a fryer. Also, when asked about the sandwich, this waitress/bartender replied, we are a steak house. Well I know where I walked into however why have items on your menu that you do not think is good? All three stars go to the greeter at the door, the manager at the table, the first bartender that served me to whom I wish would have just been with us the entire service AND the Gouda bites.
