Goat cheese and spinach bread

Located in The Woodlands near the mall is Amrina. They have valet parking so that is nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior decor is very posh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted by Brittney-Nicole and her assistant, Maria. We started out with the New Fashioned and the chai and Barrel cocktails. Both were well balanced, not too sweet and smooth. We ordered the oysters that were baked/broiled with parm, bread crumbs and a type of curry spice. They were fantastic. On my list of the top 5 best oysters I have ever had. We had another cocktail and ordered the ribeye. Brittney- Nicole really sold us on this. Chef Yash adds a dry rub of Indian spices. It is then seared in cast iron. It is then finished in the oven to temp- the perfect medium rare. It was huge and delicious. It was served with a chimichurri and a curry sauce. The steak was fantastic on its own, but with the two sauces, it elevated it out of this world. We were celebrating so we enjoyed a presentation of a chocolate covered tiramisu, which was presented table side, lit on fire and hot chai poured over it. It was so amazing. It was the perfect sweet bite to finish. Everything was absolutely perfect. We totally recommend this place for a an amazing night.

Such an elevated experience for Indian food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We absolutely enjoyed the ambiance here and the cocktails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only thing that could have been better was the speed and quality of the service from our waiter. It took him a very long time to get our orders out, take more drink orders and see if we even wanted dessert. We enjoyed the garlic naan and the curries were very tasty. We had multiple cocktails but the best were the espresso martinis at the end! You have to park in the garage and walk here or use their valet service. There is barely any street parking in this area btw.

WOW. This is only the second high-end Indian restaurant I've been to - well, Indian fusion - and it was top notch. TOP notch. It's one of those funny experiences where we trusted the waiter - who was also top notch - and I don't remember all of what we ordered. But I do know that the filet is had was not only stellar - but also unique. It was NOT a standard nice steakhouse filet - it absolutely had an Indian fusion flair to it that was woooooonderful. Dessert was too much. We should have shared it instead of each getting one. The way he described it, it sounded small - but it was SUPER rich. And not exactly small. See pics. Highly recommend, but wow, rich. Easily split. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was nice, dark, intimate steakhouse type ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also had a great cocktail to start that was, again, unique and wonderful. Wish I could remember starters and sides! Everything was wonderful. Can't wait for a special occasion to hit this place again. Check it out!

Amrina is a higher end Indian style restaurant in downtown Woodlands opposite the mall. Parking is a bit tough so it's easier to park to the north and walk over as only offer valet parking. Our group opted for the chef's tasting course with friends just to try out the best-of chef recommendations along with a wine tasting. Overall, the food was definitely utilizing higher end ingredients with familiar Indian flavors; lobster, truffle, wagyu beef, scallops, yellowfin tuna etc with white wine, cabs, and ice wine. There were some hits, some misses, and some dishes which were alright. Some of the dishes focused too much on being higher end and missed out on the traditional Indian spices and flavors. Other dishes went more for aesthetics and fusion and missed out on the strong Indian base flavors that we are used to. We enjoyed the Wagyu beef and crispy dishes most of all but a few of the dishes tasted less Indian and more American fusion. At the end of the course, we were actually hoping for a big bowl of lamb vinadloo with some naan! The wine pairing was very detailed but as a non wine enjoyer, there's no comment from me.

If you are in the area, this place is a must. If you are far..... it's worth the drive. Amrina is lining itself up for a Michelin star, and they definitely deserve it. From service, to food, to drinks, to plating - everything was done with lots of thought and detailed preparation. Chef has taken a cuisine where everything is fully drenched in spices to the point of where you can't even name the protein, and diled it down to where it's so well balanced with the rest of ingredients to elevate and augment every each one. Fare is filling , yet not heavy, subtle yet bold. Not being a huge fan of Indian cuisine, I thoroughly enjoy our meal. Service was great, attentive and witty when needed. Very well informed and trained, our waitress was an absolute professional. To round things up- plating and presentation was excellent. When you put all these things together, simple dinner becomes an experience.

We had a great first time experience, even though, I am not a fan of Indian food so much. Glad we stayed! Our waiter Austin, is so generous! He made our experience better than what we expected. Our dishes were absolutely amazing, tasty, and worthy of another visit! Naan bread is homemade and buttery. Excellent service all around!

My wife chose Amrina in The Woodlands for my birthday dinner and it was a great call. The food was really good, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered hit the mark. Our server was excellent. Super friendly, attentive, and made the night feel relaxed without being over the top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was just right. Warm, stylish, and comfortable, with a vibe that feels special but not stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Perfect for celebrating and actually enjoying the moment. If you're looking for a solid spot for a birthday dinner or a night out, Amrina is worth it. I'd definitely go back.

The best Indian cuisine I've had in awhile. Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday and I'm so glad I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating area looked good and cozy, we visited at night and it was too cold to sit outside anyhow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior decor is beautiful seating area at the front so chic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delicious, all of our choices. I recommend the chicken breast (butter chicken) and also the garlic naan as a side. Our waiter Raj was so helpful and a great server. Made our dining a pleasure. We had one of the best Indian dinner and my husband enjoyed his birthday and also his complimentary dessert! It's a must visit and they'll surely see me again soon.

Had dinner last night at Amrina in The Woodlands this spot definitely gives fine dining vibes. The space is gorgeous, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a chill evening. Our server Dee was AMAZING she managed to handle our group of 20 like a pro! I started off with their take on the old fashioned called the "New fashioned" it was so good. I don't remember the bartenders name but he definitely poured it strong . For food, I got the Lamb Nachos and the Tandoor Quail both were very delicious. And listen if you like garlic naan, theirs is the best I've ever had! If you want to try something new or enjoy Indian food. Definitely add this restaurant to your list. I will be going back for the tasting menu for sure!

Happy hour is really good - especially if you are wanting to keep to a higher caliber of cocktail. None of the cocktails are overly sweet - so feel free to be a little adventurous!

Hummus with garlic naan. Chicken Tikka Kulcha and Spinach and goat cheese Kulcha. Fantasy Hour menu.

Met a couple of friends for Happy Hour, which they call Fantasy Hour. Love that! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a beautiful place. So elegant and posh. The cozy booths in the back just look like a perfect spot for date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a fun cocktail and my friends got wine $10-12 on HH. We ordered a few small plates. Hummus with garlic naan, Chicken Tikka Kulcha and Spinach & Goat cheese Kulcha. The Kulcha were almost a thin calzone. Beautiful presentations and everything was so flavorful. Sauces served were well paired. Lorenzo in the bar took great care of us and other wait staff would stop to fill our waters and clear plates as needed. I am planning to return with the hubs. They also validate parking garage tickets for first 2 hours. Fantasy Hour is 4-7pm.

Another Houston Restaurant Week treat! I've been meaning to try this place for so long and was so glad it was part of restaurant week. This restaurant is pretty spacious and the vibes of the place are awesome. It can be dim lit especially at night, but there's plenty of ambient lighting. For my first course I got the tuna crudo which was very refreshing--a nice start to the meal. For my main course I got the malabar prawn curry. The prawns were soft and tender and paired so well with the coconut-y sauce. It went very well with the garlic naan. We also got some rice, but I felt that the rice tasted a little off--almost like it hadn't been washed enough if that makes sense. Otherwise, very good meal. For dessert I got the honey and yogurt shrikhand which was a light refreshing way to end the meal. I loved the combination of honey and pineapple. I tried some of my friends apps and entrees as well. The truffle raj kachori was the star of the appetizers--creamy, flavorful, crunchy--it was so satisfying. As for entrees the stars were the lamb chops and the butter chicken. Both proteins were prepared so well--tender and plentiful. Highly recommend! The drinks here are also delicious. I got the cuddles on the beach and she went so well with my meal.

Ask the Community - Amrina

Is the outside patio seating area pet friendly?

Hi Kristen! Thank you for reaching out. Feel free to bring your pets on our patio. We would love to meet them.

Where would be a good place to park?

We used valet parking and it was only $5. But I believe there is parking in the back in a garage

Can my teenaged son wear shorts (dressy, not athletic) to dinner here?

Hi Sheryl! Thank you for reaching out and asking. Yes, that is perfectly fine. We have no dress code just ask our guests to dress appropriately for a fine dining experience. Hope you enjoy your dinner!

Does this place allow kids/babies? We were hoping to bring our newborn along for date night.

Hello! Yes, we allow kids for dinner service and brunch.

Is there a dress code?

Casual dress and higher . Shorts no matter the nicety seem too little. IMO

Are there gluten free options available?

Hi Darcy! Thank you for the question. Our menu fluctuates very frequently as all of them are seasonal but they tend to run nearly 70-80% gluten free. Our staff can brief you on everything whenever you can visit as well as provide you a separate menu…

Hi is any of the meat halal?

Hi Tree, We appreciate you asking. Our lamb is halal and of course our seafood is as well.…

The moment I walked through the door, the smell alone had me questioning why I hadn't ordered anything for myself. I walked up to the counter, gave them the name on the order, and boom the food was in my hands. I truly appreciate a restaurant that respects to-go times, and they absolutely nailed it. While exiting, I noticed they also offer a lunch buffet from 11-2:30 which immediately caught my attention for a future visit. Now comes the dangerous part. The kids opened their containers of butter chicken with rice and spicy aloo, and my mouth instantly started watering. The portions were generous, and I found myself asking the same question over and over...**Why didn't I order anything?!** Curiosity officially got the best of me, so yes... I stole a bite. Actually... maybe two. The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful with a rich, creamy sauce that had me wishing there was another container with my name on it. But the real surprise for me was the spicy aloo. I'd never had potatoes prepared quite like that before, and they completely stole the show. I wanted that entire side for myself. Needless to say, next time I'm not just picking up food for the family I'm ordering my own meal too. This visit was more than enough to convince me I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu.

I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy.

About 6 people on average waiting for service at any given time throughout our wait. If they could up their staffing that would definitely help. The look of exasperation on folks faces while they waited was more than evident. Our wait was 10 minutes to order and 30 minutes to get the food. Not impressed. But I noticed all the customers (other than us) were ordering boatloads of food. So what can one do. As for the food, we got the butter Marsala which the owner said is butter chicken. And also a side of cheese garlic naan. The naan didn't travel well but I think fresh it would've been fantastic. It is Garlic with a capital G. You can smell it a mile away. And I love garlic by the way. The butter chicken has a great flavor. Not a whole lot of chicken but sufficient for the size I suppose. It comes with flakey white rice.

I came in with my husband and 3 kids (one tween, one picky little kid, one picky toddler). We ordered a lot of food so we could share and try it all. There wasn't a single thing anybody didn't like. Samosa, Chana, paneer masala, lentils, roti, naan, the street food things I can't remember the name of right now, and the fried rice. When I say I could eat here every day and never get bored, I mean it. The menu had a lot of classics we have had before and also had a lot of new things we'd never heard of before. The man working there was very kind and answered all of our questions. He even made some great suggestions which we totally went with. He was also very kind and patient when it took us forever to decide because we have picky kids. The prices are very reasonable for what you get but we spent more than we normally would so we could try more stuff. The paneer masala was the best I've ever had. I'm usually more of a korma fan because the tomato can be bitter but the masala here was creamy and flavorful without any hint of bitterness. It was everybody's favorite. If you go here, let them know what you like and listen to their suggestions, especially if there are things you haven't tried.
