The Charming Fig lives up to its name: The place is charming, indeed! Let's begin with the staff who are helpful, friendly, and patient. Yours truly came by to pick up a holiday platter of appetizers and saw on Yelp the wonderful-looking breakfast and lunch menu. I just had to see it again in person. While I didn't order a meal (I had already eaten at home but the menu along with the food that came out made me want to taste what was there...I resisted!) I did get my platter (It wasn't cheap but it was beautiful and tasty) which was a crowd-pleaser at the holiday party I attended. Everyone asked where it came from and the talk of celebration was coming to this place for brunch. Needless to say, it was on my mind as well: The appetizers, whether a platter or a box are great but by my estimation and the size of a crowd on Christmas eve, there's more in store here. Absolutely love this place! When I heard that a restaurant would be opening for this business I had it on my list to try, and I finally did so today. This will for sure be one of my go to spots from now on for lunch. We decided to split two different things - the Fig Grilled Cheese (on the regular menu) and the Italian Stallion (on the specials). The fig grilled cheese was so good! The fig jam definitely gave it more of a sweet taste. The special was DELICIOUS. I could tell that they really use quality ingredients here. We also tried some of the sparkling water (the grapefruit elderflower flavor) that they had up at the counter and that was also great. I'm excited to hopefully come back for grazing hour and breakfast soon. I highly recommend this spot! read more

Got a box for Christmas Eve, so yummy! Good assortment of fruit, meat, nuts, cheeses. Wish it had crackers or bread, and the sweets included tasted stale and moist, they would have been better left out. They were thrown away. I have ordered boards from Charming Fig in the past so am familiar with the vibe of their food and deliciousness, but their new brick and mortar is such a treat for Livermore. I have been there three times now and literally can't decide what dish is my favorite. From the breakfast options like Avocado toast, which I make all the time at home but not like this (omg) and a dish called Joe's Eggs (?) which is so unique and yummy. Their salads and sandwiches are also so fresh and portions are very generous. Again, it's a struggle deciding what to order - in a good way. Oh, and I can't forget to mention their coffee- like nothing I've ever tasted and I keep forgetting to ask the brand. Staff is extremely friendly and I can't say enough about the chefs artistry and creativity while providing large portions which seems rare lately. They have really hit it out if the park! I had the brie, prosciutto and fig jam grilled cheese...and enjoyed every last bit. My friend had the Winter Burrata salad that consisted of burrata, arugula, prosciutto, balsamic, and pomegranate seeds served with crostini. The serving size was plentiful, and delicious. This is a much anticipated and welcome restaurant/small business in South Livermore. I've had their charcuterie box at a local winery and was impressed with all the attention to detail. The interior is spotless and spacious. We were greeted and seated right away. Although the coffee wasn't available because of a filtering dilemma they offered a refreshing fruited water. So excited to finally see the storefront open! We snatched up a soft opening reservation and went in and had lunch today. First off the place is just darling! Love the openness of the area to sit. Everything looked so fresh and cute. The Stay Cheesy neon sign was a cute touch on the wall. We were immediately greeted by the staff and they explained how to order. We took a couple of menus and grabbed a table and figure it out what we wanted and then came up to the counter to order. Had a nice chat with the staff while we were ordering, then went back to our table to wait for food to be delivered. Food came out very quickly. Three in our party ordered sandwiches and I ordered the Harvest salad. I forgot to take pictures this time... I will next time but everything was beautifully presented. All the ingredients were fresh and it tasted wonderful! The staff kept checking with us which was appreciated. They also pointed out a self-service water station that was flavored with lemons apples and cranberries. They have a selection of pastries and cookies. We shared a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate croissant for dessert between us. They were awesome and warm them up for us before they brought it. We live nearby and have heard about this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. First of all, when we first entered this establishment we were greeted by multiple people behind the counter making us feel very welcomed. We placed our order and soon after our breakfast meal showed up. We ordered Joes eggs and my wife ordered fig grilled cheese. Both where extremely flavorful and very colorful. Best of all, it was delicious. Liz brought our food and she was very welcoming and friendly. My latte was a bit cold and without any hesitation Liz brought me another to make sure it was right. I ordered the meat and cheese board for Christmas and for the price it was very disappointing ($100). The board was a lot smaller than I thought it would be especially when compared to the lesser expensive holiday board ($50) they offer. I actually think the lesser expensive board is a better value. Would've also been nice if the board included crackers/bread or even jam. I love supporting local businesses (especially now) and hate to leave a poor review but times are tight for us all and I just felt this board fell flat for the price. read more

Owner is very unprofessional. I was referred to this place, called 2 weeks before a corporate event, provided the location, headcount and dates - I spoke to Julia who agreed to help cater for our event. Over a period of 7 days, we exchanged emails - Julia kept making commitments to send me a menu. 6 days before my event, I received an email indicating my 25-person event was too small and the charming fig was not able to help me after all. I communicated my disappointment with the timing - and expressed that I should have been notified earlier. Julia Steinman became combative and let me know she didn't sign any contracts. Integrity and professional courtesy is sorely missing from the charming fig. I would not recommend this vendor at all. Within a span of 7 days, I should have been told sooner the charming fig could not fulfill my order. Not only did Julia indicate she wasn't able to accommodate me, she replied back after I told her that I appreciated her response to me, however, I should have been told sooner. Julia felt entitled to not only respond back to me, but to keep trying to call and argue with me - all took place on a Sunday. I had to block her call and request for her to stop contacting me on Sunday. It's ironic that it took 7 days for her to rescind on her word, yet she felt compelled to harass me immediately when I voiced my displeasure with her lack of professionalism. I would not recommend even wasting your time getting a quote from the charming fig. i have no tolerance for disingenuous people - and Julia Steinman showed up exactly like the type of business woman she is - lacking integrity and professionalism. read more
