The staff here is incredible !!!! working like a well-oiled machine all day long. I've seen assembly lines with less efficient processes than this crew. There was never a moment of huddling or bustling around confused; they turned over so many dishes and tables while I was there, and still had time to check in on you with a genuine smile. My only issue was with the female owner. When she stepped in, she seemed to throw off the rhythm the staff had going. During my meal at the counter, I watched her talk down to and directly order around three employees right in front of customers. A little "please," or pulling someone aside privately, would go a long way for both employee morale and the customer experience. Now for the food: it was great, if a little light on salt (though that might just be my own preference). The tacos had good flavor and just the right amount of sauce. We were seated outside in their front patio, overall space is pretty big as I noticed later on that they even have seating in the back and inside too. After having been seated, it took quite some time to get our food. Staff nonetheless were nice but a little slow to bring over requests (ie napkins). I ordered a Bloody Mary - 2/5. Tall cup but I felt like there was very little inside. Overall taste was nothing out of this world, very bland as was the garnish. For food I ordered the Philly Omlette - 2/5. The meat was so dry and lacked any seasoning! Disappointing - salsa was the only thing that saved it and ketchup for my potatoes. Of which, the potatoes were OK. First time visiting Mornings On First for a belated Mother's Day breakfast. We were promptly seated and offered either indoor or outdoor dining. We opted for outdoors since it was a nice day. I got the All American Breakfast with egg whites and bacon and cold brew to drink. My son got the French toast breakfast. Order came out in about 20 minutes. My friend and I decided to share as we normally do two dishes - the Mushroom Market toast and the Dad's French toast. Prices are average for the area, but definitely breakfast prices are climbing anywhere you go in the Tri-Valley. Our food came out not long after we placed our order. I didn't like that the payment was given the choice of 18, 20, 25% it just makes me feel like I'm forced to choose a high % when the service didn't feel like that was the % they deserved. The Mrs. ordered hot chocolate and I orange juice and coffee. The orange juice was disappointing as I expected freshly squeezed but clearly it was not. The hot chocolate and coffee serving was large and hot. My wife ordered an avocado toast and scrambled egg. To her surprise it also came with a side salad with fresh strawberries and vinegar dressing. She really enjoyed everything. I ordered Joes Scramble with country potatoes. This was my second time here, and I don't think I'll be returning. I only came back because a friend wanted to try it out. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took a long time just to get water. I noticed several staff chatting and standing around behind the bar, yet no one brought cups until I eventually had to ask. Not a great impression. We were a group of 4. When our food finally came, my friend's order was wrong. The runner went to get our server, and when my friend explained the mistake, the server got defensive and insisted, "No, I even confirmed it with you." That wasn't true. She had confirmed the orders of the other 2 in our group, but not my friend's. I spoke up to back my friend since I clearly heard her order and told the server I heard what my friend said and she didn't order that dish she got. More than anything, it was the server's tone that surprised me instead of just correcting the mistake. Since the food had already taken so long, my friend considered just accepting the wrong dish. But the server said she'd have it remade, which only made my friend uneasy. She worried about how the replacement would be handled. When the new plate came out, she even smelled the new plate before eating, which says a lot about the trust that was lost, and it was also the server's attitude that didn't help. To make things worse, when the bill came, we were still charged for the wrong dish. Thankfully, I caught it before paying. Another friend at the table who ordered the omelet said it wasn't good and described it as tasting like a "wet rag." Overall, between the inattentive staff, defensive service, order mistakes, and disappointing food, I wouldn't come back. read more

Wait staff was pleasant and the food was visually appealing, but the chefs definitely don't know how to use seasoning or cook to temperature. The scrambled eggs were completely unseasoned and still raw on the bottom (brought to the table cold), the chicken fried was unseasoned before battering and the gravy was gray, not white or even brown. The potatoes had flavor from the peppers and onions, but again no seasoning. Finally the blueberry pancakes....the pancakes were good, but the blueberry compote was just blueberries warmed in lemon juice and sugar. No blueberry flavor at all and the fruit was still whole. I realized when I got home I did not get the side of avacado, I had totally forgotten I ordered it and they charged and extra $3. But we usually end up here because my son always gets a hot wheel, and my wife loves the coffee specialty drinks here. The waitress was not very attentive and was annoying. She asked how we liked the food (just ok) so when I said, "Just ok"and she replied "That's great!". Wait, what's "great"? Huh? She apparently wasn't listening. Awkward and annoying. I love pancakes and always try the pancakes everywhere I go. Today, I ordered the blueberry. Just ok- nothing special. My friend's breakfast tacos were just ok. Not memorable in any way. The potatoes were good, however. I won't be back. Lots of places to get breakfast in Livermore and Pleasanton. The breakfast burrito was really big, a lot for one person. The omelette was standard, nothing new and no complaints. The coffee flight is kind of a disappointment, better to just order a regular coffee. The Cookies and Cream Cold Brew is the only one worth getting, the other two weren't so great. It's a nice place with indoor seating and a front and back patio seating. The service was okay, a little haphazard and two servers didn't communicate with each other. But food and everything came on time with no complaints. The inside has a Breakfast at Tiffany's decoration, with a portrait of Audrey Hepburn and also a signature drink that comes in a Tiffany's box. It was well after 12:00 noon when we stopped by on our way back to Sacramento and the menu choices were perfect since I wanted lunch and the hubby wanted breakfast. I ordered the BLTA half sandwich with a salad and side of French fries and the hubby ordered their Leige waffle. The BLTA was hella messy but oh so good! I love BLTs but the perfectly ripe avocado made it epic. The sourdough bread was toasted and buttery perfect. My salad was very fresh and much easier to eat when I dumped it onto my plate from the little bowl. Oh and the French fries were so good! As a French fry connoisseur , I give them a solid 9 with what tasted like a light batter and crisped and seasoned perfectly. Enjoyed all of it thoroughly! My husband's waffle was probably the best waffle I've tasted in a long time. The flavor of the dough was uniquely delicious as was the little bits of sugar cane crystals embedded in the waffle.
