Omg! I've been having breakfasts in Livermore for a long time and how did I miss this place?!!! Super cute place with multiple seating areas, out front, indoors and back area with a BAR!!!!! The back area is so spacious to accommodate large parties! Let me tell you about the food!!! I got Ohana Pancakes, it comes with pineapple, coconut and Mac nut syrup. I got mine without pineapple and it was drooling delish!! The two pancakes were light and airy, not dense like some pancakes. Sprinkled with coconut and a heaping serving is their delicious Mac nut syrup!! I wish there was more mac nuts...but all good, still delish. My sister ordered Joe's omelette (scramble listed on the menu). It comes with ground beef, spinach, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. Comes with a side of toast and country potatoes. Again, a large portion of deliciousness! We also ordered Aloha mimosas- made with bubbles, vodka, passion, and guava. I couldn't finish it cuz they made it so good the alcohol was getting to my head This place is going to be a repeat place cuz I want to try everything on the menu! Everything we had was very tasty! Table for 4 on a Sunday afternoon with no reservation and luckily the wait was only about 20 mins. We were seated outside in their front patio, overall space is pretty big as I noticed later on that they even have seating in the back and inside too. After having been seated, it took quite some time to get our food. Staff nonetheless were nice but a little slow to bring over requests (ie napkins). I ordered a Bloody Mary - 2/5. Tall cup but I felt like there was very little inside. Overall taste was nothing out of this world, very bland as was the garnish. For food I ordered the Philly Omlette - 2/5. The meat was so dry and lacked any seasoning! Disappointing - salsa was the only thing that saved it and ketchup for my potatoes. Of which, the potatoes were OK. Portion is huge, I definitely could have shared with 1 other person. Overall my experience was OK. Not to be my first choice for a future brunch spot in the area. read more

My friend and I went for breakfast on Mothers Day so we knew it was going to be busy in downtown Livermore. We arrived at 10:35 am. Got on the wait list to be seated- only a 15 minute wait! Not bad!!!!! At 11:00 I decided to check in since people were being seated who appeared after our check in. Sure enough, they skipped our name accidentally. Not great, but no apology. I only knew because the 2 ladies were discussing the error. What was odd is that the restaurant didn't seem overcrowded. I've seen it much busier and generally the service is good. Ordered breakfast tacos, 2 pancakes, coffee, and water. I had to go to the bar to flag someone down for waters that never arrived. We waited one hour to be served. The waitress was not very attentive and was annoying. She asked how we liked the food (just ok) so when I said, "Just ok"and she replied "That's great!". Wait, what's "great"? Huh? She apparently wasn't listening. Awkward and annoying. I love pancakes and always try the pancakes everywhere I go. Today, I ordered the blueberry. Just ok- nothing special. My friend's breakfast tacos were just ok. Not memorable in any way. The potatoes were good, however. I won't be back. Lots of places to get breakfast in Livermore and Pleasanton. Maybe they were short on help? There seemed to be lots of people working- the service was inexcusably slow and unorganized. I hope they work on customer service. Kid and dog friendly brunch spot. Came by at 11am on a Saturday with my mom and infant and grabbed a shaded table on their front patio. Their front patio overlooks main Street and is a great spot to people watch on the weekend. Our server was friendly, efficient and gave recommendations when asked. I ordered the sunrise sandwich with country potatoes and a latte and everything was yummy and thoughtfully prepared. Servings are quite generous too! I came here to Mornings on First on a Friday morning and we opted for outdoor seating since we brought our dogs. Such a cute and comfortable dining space on a beautiful February morning. Service was swift and friendly from beginning to end. The menu was not overly large, but you are bound to find a couple of items that intrigue you. My friend and I decided to share as we normally do two dishes - the Mushroom Market toast and the Dad's French toast. Prices are average for the area, but definitely breakfast prices are climbing anywhere you go in the Tri-Valley. Our food came out not long after we placed our order. Our server continued to be very helpful with all of our requests including getting side dishes and additional condiments. Flavors were good, however, the bread for the mushroom toast seemed a bit stale. Other than that, the ambiance truly won me over. This is definitely worth a try! read more

Mornings on First wouldn't be my first brunch spot in Downtown Livermore, but they ended up having no wait on a Sunday mid morning so we decided to try it! We ordered the Stew's Special (French toast, 2 eggs, and choice of meat) along with biscuits and gravy. The order took longer than expected to come out. Our favorite part of the order was the pork sausages, but I wouldn't come for the French toast as there are other spots nearby that do it better. My sister and I have shared their Ohana Pancakes a few times now, and we still salivate when we talk or text about them. Pineapple, coconut, and macadamia cream sauce over perfectly cooked pancakes makes this a 11/10. Definitely our favorite and what brings us back. Came on a Saturday brunch time. Very busy but was able to get a table outdoors in front. I did get a look inside after I ordered to use the bathroom and saw a back door that had more outdoor seating. Inside seemed compact while the outdoor seating was more airy on a sunny day. Food was good but I very much enjoyed the coffee flight. My wait wasn't long. I ate half and took the rest home. I finished the coffee flight though. The server was ok. I didn't like that the payment was given the choice of 18, 20, 25% it just makes me feel like I'm forced to choose a high % when the service didn't feel like that was the % they deserved. It's not like the old dine in experience where they leave the receipt for signature and the tip amount and I could have chilled for awhile but since I already paid it's almost like I felt rushed out. This was my second time here, and I don't think I'll be returning. I only came back because a friend wanted to try it out. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took a long time just to get water. I noticed several staff chatting and standing around behind the bar, yet no one brought cups until I eventually had to ask. Not a great impression. We were a group of 4. When our food finally came, my friend's order was wrong. The runner went to get our server, and when my friend explained the mistake, the server got defensive and insisted, "No, I even confirmed it with you." That wasn't true. She had confirmed the orders of the other 2 in our group, but not my friend's. I spoke up to back my friend since I clearly heard her order and told the server I heard what my friend said and she didn't order that dish she got. More than anything, it was the server's tone that surprised me instead of just correcting the mistake. Since the food had already taken so long, my friend considered just accepting the wrong dish. But the server said she'd have it remade, which only made my friend uneasy. She worried about how the replacement would be handled. When the new plate came out, she even smelled the new plate before eating, which says a lot about the trust that was lost, and it was also the server's attitude that didn't help. To make things worse, when the bill came, we were still charged for the wrong dish. Thankfully, I caught it before paying. Another friend at the table who ordered the omelet said it wasn't good and described it as tasting like a "wet rag." Overall, between the inattentive staff, defensive service, order mistakes, and disappointing food, I wouldn't come back. read more

This places is great, and theres quite a few good breakfast spots around downtown Livermore as it is. It's always hard to choose when i take my wife and son for a morning walk. But we usually end up here because my son always gets a hot wheel, and my wife loves the coffee specialty drinks here. I've came at least 6 times to this location and the service is always good, as well as the food. We have always gone during weekday mornings so the place is always peaceful, not loud or anything like that. Which i prefer. Finally as far as portion to price ratio, i think it's fair. The breakfast burrito was really big, a lot for one person. The omelette was standard, nothing new and no complaints. The coffee flight is kind of a disappointment, better to just order a regular coffee. The Cookies and Cream Cold Brew is the only one worth getting, the other two weren't so great. It's a nice place with indoor seating and a front and back patio seating. The service was okay, a little haphazard and two servers didn't communicate with each other. But food and everything came on time with no complaints. The inside has a Breakfast at Tiffany's decoration, with a portrait of Audrey Hepburn and also a signature drink that comes in a Tiffany's box. Love downtown Livermore! Such a great little town to walk around and so many great restaurants like Mornings on First. It was well after 12:00 noon when we stopped by on our way back to Sacramento and the menu choices were perfect since I wanted lunch and the hubby wanted breakfast. I started off with a Bloody Mary but it did not hit the mark for me. It was very watered down with hardly any tomato flavor and no spice which I prefer. The food, however, was outstanding. I ordered the BLTA half sandwich with a salad and side of French fries and the hubby ordered their Leige waffle. The BLTA was hella messy but oh so good! I love BLTs but the perfectly ripe avocado made it epic. The sourdough bread was toasted and buttery perfect. My salad was very fresh and much easier to eat when I dumped it onto my plate from the little bowl. Oh and the French fries were so good! As a French fry connoisseur , I give them a solid 9 with what tasted like a light batter and crisped and seasoned perfectly. Enjoyed all of it thoroughly! My husband's waffle was probably the best waffle I've tasted in a long time. The flavor of the dough was uniquely delicious as was the little bits of sugar cane crystals embedded in the waffle. The whipped cream that it was served with was mouthwatering, sweet and the perfect topping. Service was very friendly and to the point. Our server made helpful suggestions and was quite concerned about getting my wife's egg order just right. Anna loved her chicken-fried steak. There were numerous empty tables so the kitchen is overloaded seemed to lack merit. What was more frustrating was the response from our server, who seemed dismissive and told us "it's basically Saturday, what did you expect?" I came here on a weekday during lunch with my toddler since we were downtown anyway running errands. I had heard good things so I was excited to check it out when it wasn't too busy. Four other groups had children with them as well. I was pleasantly surprised when the server gifted my toddler a new Hot Wheels car still in the packaging. What a great idea to keep curious little ones occupied when they're dining out. I ordered a milk and the Grand Prix from the kids menu and was shocked by how much food there was. It could easily feed my toddler for 2-3 meals. I got the London Fog and Hot Honey Chicken for myself. I asked how spicy it would be and the server said she could put it on the side. I just had breakfast with the family here. All six of us. I had a flavorless western omelette. The potatoes were over-fried hard little, nuggets--way too crunchy to accessorize a bland omelette. I asked for salsa, you know, to give the omelette a little bit of flavor and maybe soften up the pebbled potatos. Some back-story: Salsa, which is pretty standard equipment when ordering an omelette, has dethroned ketchup as the favorite condiment in the US as of 30 years ago. That said, if you want to put some standard salsa on your omelette at Mornings on First, they're going to up-charge you for it. Yes, you read correctly. I dumped the complementary ketchup on it instead. The sour dough toast? Not sour dough. That white bread was not even trying to be sour dough. Then the bill comes--on a PoS tablet, as the waitress hovers over me and states "it's going to as you a question." Gee, what question could this terminal be asking me so early in the morning?" Does it want to know if I slept well? Good thing I had noticed that they took it upon themselves to give themselves a very generous 20% tip because apparently a party of six is ... is large? I would say it's medium size, at best. I would NOT have tipped the 20% they helped themselves to. Maybe more like 15% when you try to pawn off white bread as sour dough and want to charge me for a condiment. But even that would have given them a 35% tip had I not noticed they tipped themselves without asking or telling me. And by the way--leave a piece of paper on the table as the bill or leave the PoS terminal and walk away. Don't hover over your customer with your hand out, hoping for me to press a silver coin into it. It's rude. Especially when you already carved out 20% for yourself. Six is a large party? Really? And then, there's what I referred to as "the guy." There's this one guy, standing off to the side of the room with a wire in his ear, like he's protecting the President. He never smiles and his head is on a swivel, watching the whole room--the whole time. It's off-putting. They only serve breakfast and lunch and close at 3 which is unfortunate because their food is so good, I can only imagine how their dinner would be .
