I've only been here twice but both times have been amazing and consistent with their quality. We ordered the cucumber ricotta toastini and their fig prosciutto & ricotta toast. The cucumber toast was so refreshing and light. The fig prosciutto toast was perfectly sweet and well balanced. The lemon ricotta that comes with it was so delicious and was a good portion. I think these are seasonal items but hope they make a return!

This is our go to breakfast place! We love that they have seasonal options- and always love to try to new food and drinks! They have plenty of gluten free options. This location is not open on Sundays but is empty with plenty of seating right when they open at 8 am!

I tried a newish menu item because they got rid of my beloved bacon grits. But I have finally found a new go to! This spinach biscuit is unreal. It's so fluffy and buttery with egg, cheese, and bacon. I'm day dreaming about this sandwich right now. 10/10!

Love this spot! Came here for brunch with a girlfriend after a walk, and it was the perfect stop. We ordered the "Juan and Only" breakfast burrito which is an egg and chorizo burrito, plus the lemon honey ricotta with bread. We also got an iced matcha and an iced vanilla latte. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You order and pay first, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to your table. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the whole experience feels easy and welcoming. I usually go to the Pleasanton location, so I was excited to try this newer spot. So glad they opened another location -- can't wait to come back for more!

Glad I stumbled upon this spot while I was in Pleasanton. It's a cute place for coffee, brunch, or a quick bite. The most ideal seating is on the patio... to me it makes the whole experience even cozier. Service was kind and the food came out surprisingly quick. They can get busy, but the line moves pretty fast. I loved their lattes and seasonal tostinis. Food quality is great because you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It's definitely a place I'd come back to because their dishes are proportionate and do not feel too heavy.

I went here just before closing to grab a bite with a friend around 2:40pm and they close at 3pm. I was concerned about being so late and sitting inside because I didn't want to hold up the staff from cleaning up. They assured me it wouldn't be a problem and made us feel like we had time to relax and eat. They checked on us a few times and made sure everything we had was to our liking. I thought the service was exceptional!

Ordered breakfast and coffee online and it was so easy! This place gets busy so give them between 15-25 minutes just in case they are swamped. The restaurant is always clean and parking in the mornings (around 8am) is not a problem, as other adjacent businesses are not open yet. Staff were busy working but took the time to greet me and asked about my order. Avo toast is delicious and had a perfect blend of seasonings and ingredients. Their oatmilk chai is flavorful and their oatmilk lemon bar latte is a nice twist and offered a change from my usual (matcha or chai).

Went here for a weekday lunch. My goodness, they're busy! We haven't been here in a while. The "new" location is modern and very cute! Love it! We sat at a communal table until a small table opened up. Our coffee arrived very quickly. I got an oat latte with a beautiful design on it. It was great, lots of flavor, pretty smooth. DH's cappuccino was also great, but he has been spoiled by an incredible coffee place when we were on vacation, so he thought it was kind of bitter. I got the turkey pesto sandwich again, which was delicious. It's very thick, so I ate one layer at a time. Their bread is so yummy! The side salad was fresh and I loved the tangy vinaigrette. DH got a BLTE with tomato soup. How do they get the soup so creamy, lol! We ate everything, no leftovers, and were totally full. It was almost $50 before tax and tip. Seems pricey, but it's probably fine given the quality and quantity of food and inflation! Service was almost too good...they were super fast at clearing plates and cleaning tables. Overall, worth a visit if you're in the area. We hope to return to try some of their seasonal menu!

The Nordic Toastini Lemon Bar Latte Raspberry Pistachio Scone

This place is fantastic. I've been coming for years and everything I've tried is fresh and delicious. The only complaint I have is it's almost always busy and parking can be hard on weekends But the inside is cute and clean, and I love the merch they have. Service is quick. I got the Nordic with the Lemon Bar Latte today. And I got the raspberry pistachio scone. I'm not usually a fan of scones but the consistency is so good here! Not dry at all. Soft inside and crumbly on the outside.

First time here, my friend and I fell in love with this place right away. The weather was so good that we sat outside, so comfortable and quiet. The food was amazingly great! I had the Nordic (smoked salmom sandwish), so delicious! I havent had such a satisfying meal for a while, price is reasonable, food is yummy, envirnoment is comfortable, will definitely come back. Highly recommend!

    Avocado + Citrus Toastini, $12

This is one of our favorite brunch spots. Even if you study the menu ahead of time, they always have seasonal specials that you must check out. You order at the counter and then find a table. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating in the front and the back. We like the secluded area in the back, away from the traffic. They bring your food out to you. Water and coffee refills are self serve at a station by the door. The seating area inside gets kind of loud. That's expected since it's so popular. But you can still have a conversation at your table. We've tried quite a few things here (some photos attached). My favorite is The Nordic Toastini, Acme whole wheat sourdough toast with goat cheese, arugula, tomato, salmon, and a perfectly soft boiled egg. They also make wonderful baked goods. If you come late, the selection may be limited. Go before 10 for the best selection. The really good stuff goes fast!

Avocado Pesto Triple Cheese Panini and Tomato Soup

Came here for a quick lunch and The Press did not disappoint. Delicious, comforting food that's sourced locally and made from scratch. It was hard to grab a table but since we arrived at the tail end of service hours, we were able to nab one within 10 min. The avocado and bacon melt was incredibly filling and delicious. The avocado was soft and the pesto gave it a salty, garlicky layer. The tomato sound was sweet and not super tart, which balanced the sandwich nicely. Will def be back to try their other sandwiches!

    Iced Graham Cracker Latte
    Cynthia S.

This place is wonderful. A couple things which could make things less wonderful are parking situation and table availability. But that's good because that means they're popular and won't go anywhere. I had their iced Graham crackers latte, which is very very yummy. 4.5/5 And their grits and eggs with bacon 4/5. Definitely get it with bacon... thank me later. They are a very popular spot, the place was busy from the time we walked in at 11:40 to 1:45. Constant customers.

Ask the Community - The Press - Pleasanton

Are you open on WednesdayDec. 31st 2025?

We are closed on 12/31 & 1/1. Have a safe and happy new year! 🎆

    Do you have outdoor heaters?

Good morning 😃 Yes at our Pleasanton location, back patio only.

Can I use my laptop at a table?

I have seen people with laptops in there, but I don't know if they have any available power outlets in the dining room.

    Are dogs allowed outside?

Yes, we welcome your pet to hang out at our front and back patio.

What happened to the coddled egg?

Hi There, we have coddled egg (soft boiled/soursvide) on Saturdays. Unlike before, our coddled egg was served in a tiny mason jar with cheese grits. You can order side order of cheese grits with an sousvide egg on top. Our cashier should be able…

    Do they have WIFI?

Yes they do. Just ask for the info

What brand of oat milk is used in the graham cracker latte?

    Oatly

Do they take reservations? perhaps for a group of 5

i dont believe they do- it's more a first come first serve basis!

Does your sandwiches come at with ciabatta bread anymore? We've ordered the breakfast sandwich twice in the last month and it always comes with sourdough bread, but we never requested for it.

Hi Anne, the breakfast sammies usually come with ciabatta rolls unless we run out of ciabatta. This could possibly happen especially early in the morning when delivery is running late or later in the day if we run out of ciabatta. I’m sorry you…

Are there gluten free menu options?

We have gluten free bread to sub for any of our panini and toastini. We also have house made gluten donuts and pancakes for weekend brunch.

Is the press open for outdoor sit-down dining?

Yes! They have a limited quantity of tables due to social distancing. Get there early

What vegan options do they have?

They have many vegan options and could modify just about anything (for example, their smoked turkey Reuben sandwich they also make with beets, instead of meat- and it's fabulous!) And you've got lost of other vegan sandwiches.

    Do they have mimosas?

    Alas, no mimosas.

Are they going to be open on MLK DAY this coming Monday January 15th?

I think you'd have to call- but I would think they might be closed. They've been closed on other holidays.

Today I came on a Sunday and they actually have a Sunday brunch where they have a live DJ they play music. They have shots going around it's fun and if you're going out with the family like I did today, you can sit in the upper area that's away from everyone else having the brunch fun. It was still fine even though we brought the kids and sat in the upper area. We could still hear the music and enjoy ourselves. I would highly recommend this place. They had gone to their original location in Livermore in the past and were surprised to have found it moved. We had very friendly service and excellent cocktails. If you want to get a Boilermaker, they can get it for you (off of HH) - friend asked what types of whiskey they had and our server pulled out a whole BOOK! Cocktails were all tasty and quite complex. We all really enjoyed them: Brat summer, Frose (they only had one slushie ready - and it was boozy!), Peach Don't Kill My Vibe, and She's Gone Green. I like that they only had low ABV cocktails and mocktails, although your choices are limited to 1 in each category if you can't have grapefruit for medical reasons. We were tempted by the food but were still full from brunch - I have a feeling that we'll be back for those Duck Fat fries!

The lox croissandwich was good, however, I asked for tomato because I needed an added flavor profile and the saltiness of the lox made me want more hydration in the bite. I usually don't like capers but today they were fine. Croissant was toasted nicely. Service: excellent. A pretty woman greeted us quickly and because it was such a beautiful day, she was coming out to bring our meals and drinks back and forth. She brought us our drinks. My drink was supposed to be with almond milk but I suspected it may have been regular milk. Although I disclose that I rarely order black sesame; it was very very sweet so I ended up not taking a chance and drinking it. My husband and daughter had vanilla lattes and lemonade with their breakfast bacon sandwich and salad. My daughter wanted to go there again today. (Posting a day later). The ambiance was very nice. I had never been to this downtown area. We were across the street from a really cute historic gas station. Great seating for people watching and enjoying the warming heat of summer on the patio. Even before our visit, the staff we spoke with on the phone came across as rude and unhelpful. Thankfully, once we were seated, our waitress was very nice, attentive, and probably the best part of the experience. The food, however, was very disappointing. My wife ordered the steak medium-well, but it came out medium-rare, which was frustrating because her requested temperature seemed to have been completely ignored. I ordered the Marin Coast Halibut. The fish lacked seasoning to the point that I had to ask for salt just to give it some flavor. The sauce was also completely cold, which made the dish even less enjoyable. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much better execution. For dessert, we tried the Milk & Honey. It sounded interesting, but the honeycomb component basically tasted like hardened sugar and was overwhelmingly sweet rather than adding anything special to the dessert. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and our waitress provided good service, but between the difficulty getting a reservation, the unpleasant phone interaction, improperly cooked steak, and disappointing food, I don't understand the high ratings. For the price and reputation, we expected a much better meal. Unfortunately, I don't think we would return.
