We discovered this restaurant on our way back from strawberry picking and stopped in for brunch with a group of seven, including children. The food was excellent, and I would absolutely recommend giving this place a try. The servers were attentive, efficient, and did a great job delivering hot food, clearing tables, and accommodating several vegetarian modifications without issue. Unfortunately, what should have been a wonderful dining experience ended on a disappointing note due to the manager's behavior. We had a simple question regarding our bill and asked for clarification. The waitress brought over the manager, who immediately assumed we were requesting a discount--which was never the case. With a bill exceeding $100 and an automatic gratuity already included, we were simply seeking an explanation, not asking to save a couple of dollars. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcomed, respected, and valued. While mistakes and misunderstandings can happen, making assumptions about customers and responding in a dismissive manner falls short of that standard. The manager's attitude felt disrespectful and judgmental, turning what had been a very positive experience into a negative one. A restaurant can serve great food, but genuine hospitality is what brings people back. The servers delivered that hospitality throughout our visit; unfortunately, the manager's interaction at the end overshadowed an otherwise excellent meal. We also shared our concerns with the waitress before leaving, as we felt it was important for management to be aware of how this interaction impacted our experience. read more

Went back a couple months ago and re-ordered the signature Calafia Burger - noted the tater tot portioning got a bit smaller, and although the burger was still tasty as heck, it kind of fell apart when I ate it this last time, which is a bit of a disappointment. Still very above average food and I feel a little guilty posting this update, but have to be honest.... will obviously still be coming back though. Came here for lunch for the first time with a friend. Got some yummy drinks and good food. Outside was really hot, so the drinks were nice and thirst-quenching. I got the strawberry lemonade and my friend got a passionfruit drink. Both were made well. I also got the veggie chilaquiles verdes, which were pretty good. Great he in the wall spot in Livermore, my wife has been here before, and wanted me to try it out. Very friendly welcome when we walked in. This place has around 7 beers on tap, unfortunately the waitress must not be a beer drinker as she had no clue what they were. They also have a full bar with limited hard alcohol. On to the food, I had the Philly ordered it Cajun style. It didn't have a whole lot of meat? Tasted good, but meat to onion/pepper/cheese ratio was off. On the other hand, my wife had the salmon sandwich which was very full of salmon! We will definitely come back and try different things! I've now been here at least 5 times. The food is always great. We always order the cafe de olla.

We tried this place a few times when it first opened, and we really liked it.. then we got busy and it fell off our radar.. We recently came back and let me tell you, it's top of my list for Sunday brunch. I like their omelettes and their Mexican coffee "cafe de olla" is really good... cinnamon flavored.. yum! My wife had the steak and eggs this time. They have a good kids menu as well.. the atmosphere is chill.. with music and TVs and local Livermore themed art and wine on the walls. read more

My friend and I came here after a hike in the area and found this spot completely by coincidence! I'm so glad we did because it's AMAZING! They have a super spacious outdoor seating area that's also covered. The folks working here are soooo nice! And everything came out super quick and tasted amazing. My friend got a breakfast burrito and I got the breakfast combo with the Belgian waffle. Quite possibly one of the best breakfast spots in town. Fantastic fresh dinner with the whole family. We had a variety of tacos: fish, shrimp, steak and Calafia (pork) they were all delicious, fresh, well filled and the salsa fantastic. We shared a good guacamole with chips and the kids chicken tenders with tatter-tots was amazing and made the little ones very happy. Dining area looks like a walk in diner. Service is good. Food is meh, especially for the price, including the pulled pork sandwich (dry), chilaquiles and fish tacos (no flavor). Garlic fries had a teaspoon of chopped garlic drizzled on. Salmon sandwich needed more aioli (dry) and was plated messily with streaks of oil across the plate like they dropped salmon on it and then put it back on the sandwich. Aioli was good though. Needless to say, won't be venturing there again. Also, pricewise, $4.50 additional for half red and half green salsa on chilaquiles. Waitress asked if I wanted meat on my chilaquiles; she recommended steak. When I got the bill, the steak was +$21.99, so my meal of chilaquiles was $45. Not sure how the restaurant is 4.5 stars, especially with a toaster area in the dining area where I watched the staff make the avocado toast for another patron. What a bummer. read more

I went here in the morning for my birthday, nobody really was here so it was just me and my family eating here. I ordered Eggs Con Chorizo and potatoes, they first of all made the eggs and chorizo separate - not together - which was the first red flag. As i'm eating, I take a forkful of the eggs with the potatoes. I'm then hit with a piece of literal plastic in my mouth. I spit it out and sent my husband inside. The owner ended up coming out and opened up with "we don't use plastic in our food" and starts going into detail about how they use zero plastic insinuating that I put plastic in my own food. That was just outrageous. Anyways thanks, do better, don't tell your customer they are in the wrong for food you put on my plate. read more

We were greeted and seated immediately. Not a huge restaurant yet the large amount of seating with plenty of space between is comforting. Romeo was our server. We ordered the Calafia Benedict with verde salsa, country potatoes, and 2 sides of sourdough toast (as we were splitting this ahead of our Mt. Diablo hike). It was delicious, light and clean. Happy with all the veggies in it. And the chorizo and hot link were not greasy yet brought together the south with our southern neighbors. I took my friend here for an early birthday lunch and the weather was so nice so we sat outside! The area it's in seems pretty quiet and our server Paula was amazing! Her service was perfect and she gave so many good recommendations. I got French toast, scrambled eggs & veggies + we shared garlic fries for an appetizer and I wish I had room for dessert because everything was so yummy I can only imagine the dessert! Came here with Hubs for a late breakfast a few weeks ago as he couldn't stop raving about it. The restaurant was almost full and snagged a table by the window. Upon looking at the menu, many items they make in house, I instantly knew what I wanted. Chilaquilas. The last time I had it good was in Cabo. Other places I've tried was always lacking something. This place was not. It was fire . I went with the green sauce, supposively LESS spicy. I was sucking back on my teeth bc it did have a lot of heat. I still finished it despite the burn bc it was THAT good. Hubs agreed. The special coffee with cinnamon and raw sugar, kept hot in the clay/ ceramic mug was tasty too. I was surprised how it didn't need any cream or added sweetner. The play was very clean, and floors swept after each customer, even the restrooms. Just moved to the area. Upon arrival the patio was full. Inside there were a few guest enjoying their meal. The ambiance was nice. Two tvs with games on. Nice bar with drinks well presented. We were greeted at entrance and immediately seated. They offered regular coffee and café de ollo. The café was amazingly delicious with the cinnamon taste. We ordered chilaquiles with carnival, strawberry/ banana French toast with country potatoes, tres leches pancakes and kids chicken tenders with fries. Everything was so good.
