Quaint cafe with amazing food and a perfect place to catch up with an old friend! I usually get take out from here but finally got to enjoy a sit down meal today. Service and quality were fantastic! Only downfall is the parking. Deliveries were being made so we had to park on the street which was tough. I believe I may have discovered the Ur-brunch spot. The place I have been looking for and not found on the many recent trips out with friends for brunch. Oh, Two Birds! I knew from the jump that you would deliver, and you did. From the cute, cozy vibe that cuddles you when you walk in to the enticing menu, my date and I were already hooked before we had even ordered. Funny staff who treated us like old friends, delectable sourdough... just amazing. I ended up in a conversation with a regular at the cash register who expressed surprise that we hadn't ever come before to the local gem. Wow. Eat the crumb cake! Met a friend here for coffee and the crumb cake was incredible. Good coffee and spectacular crumb cake! Also say yes to the butter and jam. I was afraid to ruin the cake because it was so good but that jam is life changing -do not be afraid of it! I have also eaten food here and it's great! Wish it was a little closer to home! I've come here many times for breakfast and have never been dissatisfied. I decided to stop in for lunch because I craved a pastrami sandwich and those are rare in Chester County. It's advertised as house made which made it more appealing. While the pastrami itself had good flavors, I found my pastrami sliced way too thick. The sandwich was haphazardly put together as was my dining partner's with most of the pastrami on one half and little to none on the other. My dining party is also not a fan of mustard and asked that Russian dressing which is offered on another sandwich be substituted. He was told ok but the sandwich tasted like mustard. It appeared as if someone had erroneously put it on and then scraped off. There was also pickled onion on the bottom of my sandwich which made of an unpleasant bite. The bread was barely grilled and had too much untoasted and was therefore just greasy. Service was by a new server - a bit inexperienced but polite. An offer to refill water glasses would have been appreciated. read more

Every time we come here despite the wait.. it is delicious. I think it may be our favorite breakfast place in West Chester. The food is always consistently great and the service is great. The place is small and the parking lot is even smaller so I feel like that's the only thing limiting them. It's definitely worth the wait though. The ingredients are always fresh. What a treat. First time and not my last. We had different omelets and both were delicious along with the potatoes. Sometimes when ordering sandwiches you feel like you could have made the same thing at home - this is not the case here, especially with the sauce. Every inch of space is used in this restaurant and in the parking lot as well. There was a large portion of seared salmon filet on the Cali Salmon sandwhich topped with fried green tomato and smoked tomato mustard. Just the right amount of sauce that wasn't too sweet. Fries were tasty with just the right amount of crunch. Opted for sourdough bread on the "Jessie" chicken salad sandwich; it normally comes with a croissant. Lemon and tarragon roasted chicken. Tarragon flavor was definitely present, with a scrumptious oversized tomato slice, and fresh fruit. A side of fresh fruit is always a treat, here it was fresh peaches, blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Brisket grilled cheese was not the average grilled cheese - much more brisket than cheese and tomato jam was great. Absolutely would recommend the fresh brewed iced tea as well. My friend who is a local at West Chester took me to Two Birds Cafe for a Sunday breakfast. The cafe and the parking lot was small but the restaurant has a lot to offer. They have the typical diner breakfast dishes but they also have different interesting dishes such as butternut squash benedict or spicy sausage gravy. I was excited with their options. I got their Cali benedict, spicy sausage gravy biscuit, and french toast. I was suprised at how spicy the sausage gravy is, it's actually very well-seasoned and tasted delicious! The cali benedict has so many little elements such as pickled onion, smashed avocado, green onion. these created interesting flavors to the dish. Their seasoned potato was also flavorful. I have driven by this cafe many times and have always wanted to stop. This morning we finally decided to have brunch here. We had a truly delightful experience. We were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and helpful. We started off with coffee and coffee cake. The coffee cake was absolutely delicious and the portion size was very big. The coffee was nice. I had the delicata salad which was loaded with fresh apples, walnuts, blue cheese and a nice serving of delicious delicata. The portion size was very generous and the salad was incredible. It was so fresh. Our other order was a ham omelette that came with crispy potatoes, toast and jam. Yum! The omelette was super fluffy and the potatoes were very flavorful. I went with my girlfriend last fall and they had run out of their sourdough gluten free bread. Yesterday September 4th we stopped in and it was early. So I ordered an omelet with gluten free sourdough bread. The bread was burned and looked exactly like the piece of toast my husband had. They were identical and he did not order gluten free. Once you walk past the waiting area to be seated, you will see a display of baked goods, all homemade (Definitely take some to go if you're too full to try it out at the restaurant). Only minor complain I have is, even though we see them clean the tables between each service. I don't think the tables were deep cleaned every night after closing. Our table was very sticky, same with the salt and pepper bottles. -Service- Expect what you would normally get at any diners. Nothing that will blow your mind, but it was good service. Our waitress was able to answer most of our questions. -Food- We ordered: -Breakfast burritos (Burrito itself has great flavor, however the potatoes lacked seasoning. -Small sides of Pancake and bacon (Pancake was very fluffy, bacon is well cooked) -Iced Coffee (Good) -Cinnamon bun to go (Good) NOTE: Some items you see on reviews might not be available when you visit, since they are seasonal.
